That water tip is a great trick. Surprised I never heard of that one before. Trying that out after my next long haul!

I have a rare sleep disorder called Short Sleep syndrome. I never get jet lag. I can get by on 4 hours of sleep and if its 7 AM in Bangkok or London im up!

I love the water before nap trick. My next international is DFW to CDG with a 9:15 PM departure. We arrive at 3 PM local and should be able to push through to 9 PM.

    Hey,
    As always, great tips!
… I have some more tips for your repertoire…
One of them… you can activate your own melatonin system by cooling your room, then taking a hot shower. When you come out of the warm shower into the cold room, it will make your melatonin system activate.

I’ve never heard that before. I’ll give it a try.

*Hot shower with cool room to sleep. Cold shower with warmer room to wake! *Fresh air (oxygen) with exercise to release endorphins can be good for waking and sleeping.
*Ginseng helps with energy as an alternative to caffeine.
      *Magnesium helps with sleep.
*Dark and quiet room for sleep.

You are very lucky if you can overcome jetlag!
My - unscientific - gut feeling is that 1/3 of people don’t experience it and probably can’t see the problem, 1/3 can manage it with some success and 1/3 are in a permanently brainfogged state.

Also eat enough before needing to take a long sleep after a day of activity. How long do you get to sleep on the flights with a relief pilot?

Nice vid, so for travelers planning to stay at their destination for a month they should do this every day for a week till they adjust? 😅 Going back to Warsaw in a few weeks after a 3-year absence, traveling east is always a harder change for me.

I saw this older video just now after commenting a few weeks ago on Jet Lag. I found as others said the return to the United States from Europe was more difficult East to West travel they say. I think it helped that I arrived at about 6pm Ate and went to bed in Europe but here upon return it was 5am and I slept for only a few hours and it took a couple weeks to feel right again. I Think it is just a downfall of travel and it is just something a person deals with

Same thing happens when traveling within the us too. From the east cost to California. I wake up at 5am. Lol. I don't know how some actors do it, who commute from NYC to LA.
