Flying this wknd to Europe & thanks for all the reminders, I get SEVERE jet lag, so it's essential I incorporate as many tips as possible! Big believer of avoiding airplane food & carb heavy meal 1st nite for better sleep 🙌
Yesssssss - do it, I absolutely will use this method again, it was super nice. And shoot, we were only in Iceland for 1 day... I definitely want to go back for like a week, and I feel like I'd want to do a week like midsummer, or in the depths of winter. it's just a very interesting country.
Going from Washington State to Italy ,Spain & France in June. I really found this video helpful and I'm excited to use your tips! Also, just wanted to say this video was really well made!
Ayyyy - Thanks Brit, I appreciate it! And who that's interesting... I feel like east to west is way easier, but hey, I've never been to Asia so who knows. It's on my list for next year 👀. Also, my next video will have some pretty cinematic footage.
I'm flying going the the way, east to west. Georgia in the US to Australia. Question, would I still subtract the 16 hours or add 16 hours. This looks like a great option to beat jet lag.
so going east to west you won't encounter as much jetlag, It's like 14 times more likely gong west to easy or something wild like that. You'd do the same thing, but probably you'd stop eating much closer to your flight time or even ON the flight, since you are fighting again that that time change while flying. Have fun!
Thanks for your video - very interesting! ➡️ Since your video was 1 year ago, I’m wondering if you have continued to use this method or if you have found someone better? I will be traveling solo from Vancouver, Canada (leaving at 1:30pm with a 2hr layover in Paris) before I arrive in Kenya at 9:20pm (Total trip duration 21hrs …..and flying back home its 23hrs). So I am trying to find the best solution, since I dont sleep well on transport & I get bad jet lag too. So I’d love to hear your thought now. If anyone else has any suggestions please also comment. Thanks!
Oh wow... that is a trip and a half. I haven't done anything else, and I've used the strategy one other time with success. YIKES. I'd say that this strategy is better than not doing anything at all, that's gonna be brutal, but I'm sure you'll have a blast!
My trip to Vietnam starts in NYC to Frankfurt (9 hours) then to Hanoi (11 hours)…not sure how the CIA would deal with that! I understand that my mindset should be set on the time of my ultimate destination, but when it takes 24 hours - yikes!
Seems pretty logically, get a good amount of sleep before your trip, drink a ton of water which i already do & the fasting seems like it could honestly work. Ill be trying this on my japan trip for sure.
@@JacksonMeyer the other way around, its apparently "easier" to travel going west then it is east. If i remember to comment ill make and update or to another one of your videos, honestly first time ever watching your videos.
Going east to west is far easier to avoid jet lag, I don’t typically get it going that direction, still employed the strategy to a lesser extent and it worked great!
It’s a great question! And I have a strange answer… Megan‘s super power is sleep, she can crash out in a blink and when it comes to Jetlag, she has NEVER had it. Weve done the Europe trip from west coast 3/4x and we are headed to SE Asia in November 👀 and I’m curious to see how she does. It Id expect her to be just fine and for me to be struggling lol
See here's the thing... that is Megan's super power: She doesnt' get jet lag... and I'm not kidding. We've done red eyes, long layovers, day flights, and no matter what, we arrive in Europe and she is fine, and I am whooped. Now, we are doing a New Zealand/Asia trip at the end of this year and we'll see if going east will result in her getting jetlag. Stay tuned lol, probably will post on IG the results haha
Thanks for asking, so... We've have found out through marriage as well as traveling, that this is her superpower: She doesn't get jetlag. She's sort of always a bit tired, but travelling east to west, west to east hasn't seemed to hit her, it's kinda crazy.

I’m jealous!!! Have a blast, treat yourself and indulge in everything European! 🍕🍷 hope to see you in the comment section of my future vids :)
Your videos are amazing as were planning our trip! Thank you
Oh my goodness, that's really awesome and I'm glad you found them helpful - thank you for watching and commenting, I appreciate it! Happy travels!!
Great info and awesome work Jackson, looking forward to more of your Europe trip!
Thanks Thomas - I appreciate it, lots more to come! And it looks like your channel is growing, great work
@@JacksonMeyer Thanks man, glad to be almost to 1k, slowly but surely.
Planning on using this method from PNW to Grand Cayman. Can’t wait to see more of you’re Iceland trip! Its on my bucket list as well.

👋 Ayyyy we're neighbors :) Thank you very much, I appreciate it! I really enjoyed avoiding jetlag this trip!
ABSOLUTE LEGEND ! I Always get it bad when I fly back from Asia, not the other way.

This is brilliant! 😂❤
Wow-that looks “painfully effective”! 🙂 Thanks for the info, Jackson.
of course! ;) Thanks for the comment!
Sweet! I will give that a try!
Hey Cheron, thanks for the comment ;) and it was very useful!
That is the exact flight I am taking so this should probably help.
haha That's awesome! Well good luck, I really enjoyed the benefits and will be doing it on future trips. Happy Travels!

I was hoping you'd show us the trip back to the states and if it worked. :D
Going east to west is really not bad, apparently you still get jet lag (I haven't) but you are 7x less likely than going west to east.

Let me know how it goes! I've been doing it and it definitely helps reduce the jet lag, ESPECIALLY when traveling west to east.

Fun and useful
Glad you liked it, thanks!
How was the flight back? Did you do the same for the way back?

@JacksonMeyer Thank you for this, nice tip, cool video. Hope you've had an awesome time in Iceland.

What about the next day ?
Totally fine the whole trip, it was awesome. All good
@@JacksonMeyerthank you so much for the tip! I’ll try! I have to go from Tokyo to Peru for work and there is a 14h time difference

Impossible British Airways food is SO good.
hahaha to each their own!
Has anyone tried this and it worked for them as well?
You can look up the 'anti jet lag diet' online and there are many stories. I've only used it once so far with great success! Thanks for watching!
I would have been curious to hear if Megan got jet lag

Or you can take 600-1200 mg of NAC and vitamin d3 +k2 with electrolytes in water.
I'll take a look at that, I at least have something that works really well for me now - there are likely better strategies I will have to try.
The question is: Did Meghan experience jet lag?

I always get way worse jetlag going west
Really? Where are you from?
@@JacksonMeyer Netherlands, always having trouble when going to the USA, never had any issues flying back

I'll be honest, I don't know what that means. But thanks for the comment!
