it is a good way of marketing to do it how you suggested but many game devs find to get the game onto multiple platforms (like console) they need to go through publishers
As for activision. I believe its mainly the fact that people still buy these games, battlepasses, and skins, they have no incentive to actually make the game better. However because these games still sell in droves im mainly led to believe were just not the target audience anymore
I don’t know why they don’t do the simple thing and just listen to the community. They could make so much money if they made games we wanted, however, they don’t and it shows with the games these major publishing companies are producing.
I don't hate them because they make bad games I don't have to buy them. I hate them because they hold my favorite franchises hostage. Ubisoft barely does anything with Rayman Activision cancelled Crash Bandicoot 5 EA put Dead Space on hold
True. I can’t remember the last time Ubisoft has talked about splinter cell one of my favorites games. They were supposed to do a remake of the first one who knows what happened to that
