America through the windshield of a model A is priceless. From the big steering wheel to the headlights for some reason it’s the journey. The destination is a bonus.
Hello Stephen, People are so used to racing down the freeways to "get somewhere", nobody takes time to enjoy the traveling part of the journey any more. You see so much more off the freeways and at 45 mph. Its a completely different travel experience. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Model A's are a great design, great engineering, reliable, and bring a smile to most peoples faces. If they didn't there won't be so many still on the road. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
I agree there are alot of model As around. Out of all the cars from the late 20s early 30s they are by far the most popular. And I'm glad they are still going strong.
@@shaunarobinson4816 One of the reasons there are so many still around, (other than the fact they made 5 million of them) is that Ford used vanadium steel alloy, which is much more resistant to rust, so more of them survived.
Don't know what to say, Absolutely beautiful. What a great tour to participate in ,fantastic views the whole way. Thanks for the ride along ,I'll never have the opportunity to do so. Thanks again .
Dean, we had great time, the Model A Ford Club of Colorado did a fantastic job of hosting the event, everything ran smoothly, (at least as visible to us), the views were incredible. The weather was the only thing that didn't go to plan, as it rained just about every day.
Epic drive with the A’s shows what they can do. Loved seeing them and especially the 400A’s. MARC National meet coming soon in Hamilton Ohio, they are trying to have a large gathering of the 400’s on site.
Beautiful cars, beautiful scenery. So, I assume you are pulling these grades in 2nd gear? Were most of the A's you saw stock? Did any of them have the Mitchell overdrive?
Yes, lots of 2nd gear work, both up and down. The majority of the cars are very stock, some have Mitchell's and some have additions to the engines, (down draft carb's, overhead valves, etc.). My car is stock.
Surprisingly no. I was expecting it too, especially as this car does tend to run a little rich. I going with the assumption the cool dense air made the difference.
I was expecting issues with the altitude, but we really didn’t have any. We live at 5,000 ft, so higher than most and commonly drive in the Sierra Nevada’s over 8,000ft. So guess we’re set high enough that we didn’t have any problems, car ran great the whole time.

There were five A-400's at the tour. I was shocked to see so many in the same location. Thank you for your comment, I hope you enjoyed the video's

@@modelajim1930 Awesome, thanks.
Well done and edited series! Just watched all 5.
Did the A have any "breathing" problems with the altitude?
Surprisingly no. I was expecting it too, especially as this car does tend to run a little rich. I going with the assumption the cool dense air made the difference.
Curious about carb jetting for those altitudes? Did you jet it differently for Reno?
