We're going down to Ruidoso also. We will have a few more miles being in Ca. I 've had two wheel bearings go out. One in MO. and one local. In MO. we had a parking lot seminar! I've driven my A cross county twice. Your right they were made to be driven. See you in NM. SAFE TRAVELS
Thanks Dean, Going to be a long one, but we’ll be going to a part of New Mexico I’ve never been. So love seeing new territory, and doing it with a bunch of other Model A’s, what could be better???
Yes the heat through the Las Vegas basin is concerning. My wife doesn’t handle the heat very well, and in the afternoon she’ll be on the sunny side of the car. Lots of wet towels and cold drinks I hope will get us through.
@@modelajim1930 You're smart! I suppose the national convention will be a good opportunity to inspect some of the Texas A's with Air conditioning from Ken Davis. I hope you have a good time, and record a lot of video!
You would be surprised at how similar your Model A is to my 1966 Land Rover series 2A. In some cases, the Land Rover is cruder. Fun fact. I’m a retired Air Force aircraft mechanic. Each main landing gear on the B-52, ( there are 4) has 42 grease fittings. That Model A is a walk in the park! Lol
A hundred and sixty-eight grease fittings is a good afternoon’s project for sure! Hope you had some type of power grease gun. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Hello Craig, We’ve taken this car to Denver and back last year and to Calgary many years ago. She’s a solid car that we did a complete restoration on back in 2003. They were made to drive! All that being said , there’s a fine line between confidence and foolishness. Wish us luck. Thanks for watching, and your comment.
My longest drive in my 1931 De Luxe Tudor Sedan was in 2014 when I drove to the convention in Puyallup - 500 miles each way with no problems. And I was the only car in blue ribbon judging that had driven to the meet! Yes, they're made to be driven. Only 120 miles from Las Cruces to Ruidoso, so see you all there.
Thanks Rick. Yes see you there. 120 miles is a nice short run for you. My only concern is getting through Las Vegas, they’re having heat warnings this week, and by the time we’re there it will surely be Hell fire.
Just go on Amazon and search “emergency flasher”, you find them. They’re pretty popular, having come out a few years ago, and inexpensive. They have a magnet on the back that will hold them to the car.

Safe travels to you as well William. Maybe we’ll see you along the way, or for sure in Ruidoso. God’s speed.
It's great to see you back on again. Sounds like quite the trip you both have planned. I wish you luck and be safe and enjoy .
Thanks Dean,

You're tougher than I am. Even if the A did fine, I would be a hot mess. I easily overheat and breakdown!

You’re a brave man to travel that far in an A.

See you in New Mexico!
Good video covering all the necessary points. But the differential only takes 1.5 pints!
Thank you for your comment.
All my reference material list 2.25 quarts. I just pour until it comes out the top hole.🤪🤪
Well at the rate you're educating me, I think I'll be able to maintain one of these myself......looks like a fun trip, wish we could join you.
I’m trying to convince your daughter to buy that AA, it would be great for Finn to learn on.
Wow so many grease points. To be honest i wouldn't mind doing this. When love your car you will do what ever it takes to keep it going.
@@shaunarobinson4816 like any beautiful lady, they require a little attention. But it’s a labor of love as you say.
Now I understand the expression 'get a horse'.
Well maybe, but horsepower only eats when in use, a horse eats every day ridden or not.
Gotta be a labor of love, otherwise saddle up good buddy!
What kind of emergency flasher is that in your kit and where can they be purchased?

Why not use a pan, with water to heat the oil for gear and diff. it will flow a lot easier!!!
@@jrnmller1551 that’s a great idea! I knew someone would have a suggestion that would make it easier.
