Maybe I'm giving it too much credit but honestly really glad I saw this recap. Thumbnail makes it look like horror and I know ppl will say the 3rd act is torture porn but the first two acts (and 3rd too) have really good insights into not just capitalism, but class consciousness, class power dynamics, media and boredom, and base human dignity. Yes, the floors represent classes in a class pyramid, but also unique sectors/skills in society and how they're (under)valued in capitalism (they pyramid). They build a mini society where 6F personifies the enforcer/police class; 5F is medical/education - ish; 4F was and still is customer service; 2F is trades (valued v low in Asia); 1F is the starving artist; 7F represents mid-upper class w some success, and insite into sociopathic tendencies of elites, but still discontent. 3F is mostly the viewer. 8F represents elite politicians, working on behalf of masked corporate benefactors that enable her worst instincts. The elites only gave them more 'time' (opportunity / attention) when they were entertained by their suffering or debasement. 7F and 4F understand the need to appease 8F and distract her, and the faceless capitalists backing her as she controls the resources, the police 6F, and has the weapons. While 1F, 2F, 3F, 5F, and eventually 7F and 4F, would like to see political reform, they are all the while tempted, extorted, and blackmailed into silence. 7F tries setting up a loose egalitarian system in capitalism (social democracy) but this devolves when human jealousy kicks in under zerosum capitalism and 8F exploits these cracks to dissolve all democracy into autocracy. 1F's and 3F's only current 'value' to appease the elites/8F is debasing. Ironically 1F's skills were proven the most monetizeable per his cost (the value of art under capitalism). His work was overshadowed by 8F's sex show appealing to the fickle base (sex work under capitalism when other jobs don't pay as well). The fact that this was all recorded by the elites and never released reaffirms the benefactor class was in this for the boredom/amusement, despite being able to easily alleviate mass suffering. The game in a game is fun cause they basically set up a new economy/currency/stock market w these coins that are otherwise meaningless to the ruling class who get their real money from someone else directly and always have priority access to the 'real economy' (insider trading, corruption, etc). Anyone reading this is already likely in the top 10% globally by definition (7F-4F).
I'm amazed at the number of people who label Corporatism as Capitalism...It's funny but corporatism uses the same terms as capitalism but their meanings are very different. Rather like Mormons and Christians...Mormons use Christian words but they follow a completely different gospel.
well basically, they're stuck in there until the timer goes down. they win money for each minute. the timer goes up whenever they entertain the cameras, so they have to keep entertaining. however they have to keep getting crueler and crueler. also they can't take the food out of the room in order to bring it down. So they have to trust the people above them to leave the food in the elevator for them. hence why 8 can keep all the food hostage.
How can someone suddenly ask you for 900 million won/$650,000 and you are cool with it ?Go fight in a court instead of agreeeing to play stoopid games .

These shows are apparently wildly popular in S Korea. My partner loves these, as well as "K-Dramas," and similar shows from S Korea. That said, I can't get over the suspension of disbelief necessary to enjoy these shows. I can't forget that there is a camera, that there is an entire film crew behind the camera, that all of the people we can see are paid actors, that the entire situation is highly-contrived, etc. For example, in real life, if the situation was some mad-scientist millionaire and "the game" was real, if someone spent the group money on fancy clothes, I would make sure she would never do that again.......

Rather like Mormons and Christians...Mormons use Christian words but they follow a completely different gospel.
so many upset comments, yall do know it’s a movie right? not reality 💀💀💀
I literally understood nothing in this video
Maybe I missed something but I feel like the only thing that was "hard" was going up and down the stairs to get food and they couldn.t even do that.
You missed plenty then 😂
well basically, they're stuck in there until the timer goes down. they win money for each minute.
the timer goes up whenever they entertain the cameras, so they have to keep entertaining. however they have to keep getting crueler and crueler.
also they can't take the food out of the room in order to bring it down. So they have to trust the people above them to leave the food in the elevator for them. hence why 8 can keep all the food hostage.
me realizing a third into the video that this is just a metaphor for poor and wealthy people
In a south Korean movie? Noooooooooooooo
“We have Squid Game at home!”
I thought the amounts of money they were talking about were insane but 1 million a day is only 715 bucks
How can someone suddenly ask you for 900 million won/$650,000 and you are cool with it ?Go fight in a court instead of agreeeing to play stoopid games .
Are you talking about the money with the loan shark? He borrowed money. Couldn't pay it back. It's how that mob world works.
Loan sharks and predatory interest rates. They want you to take a loan so they can gouge you for a profit
do games like this happen often over seas because id love to be in one
There's always a catch to making so much in one go
If that’s a thick book then I’m a squirrel
This is just so unrealistic I find it annoying, all the violence and brutality are completely self inflicted and not caused by anything. I don’t think you can find a more irrational outcome then what happened
Wait... That's almost literally Mr. Beast 100 days video.
Great show
This was a great show
Actually a really great ending
Where can I watch this? And what is the name?
Do people realize the events in these films happen in real life? How do you think you would do?
Epstein island.
This show was allrighy untill they started sleep deprivation torture
If i was in the game, all I would buy is a phone, then I'm basically locked in the whole game :)
I didn't think 8f would survive more than a day...
FaZe subathon in a nutshell
Ngl this show was epic 💯
They finally made a movie about that guy who worked for mrbeast! :D
That would be like $31,067 a day, not a million.
Take one shot for every time you hear "F" during this video.
We’re to watch it please ?
Pov: MrBeast in an alternate Reality
220,000 won is equivalent to about $159.
1 million won = $722
900 million won (what he owes) = $650k
69 hrs they definitly put on a show in 69 lol
Newest dog pack video 💀💀💀💀
What movie is this called
So i will assume 8F is the game runner here
spoilerrrr
no, they were all poor when they arrived, after the show she bulldozed an art gallery cause of a grudge, she had to compensate them with all her money and got imprisoned (lame ending for her imo)
@@magfinite so she went on a never ending show of trolling people to get money to bulldoze a building to settle a grudge so far to go
@@robert23456789 yeah, idk if it was noticeable in this recap but she's bat-shit crazy. Before she went on the show she was playing on her electric guitar (with the speaker) in front of the gallery for change...
@@magfinite we can hope Mr beast runs a shoe like that I'll go on ok maybe the rule about having to keep rubbish in your room can go away
You don't see this creativity in Hollywood. Brilliant show, very reminiscent of Danganronpa games.
This vaguely reminds me of a Spanish film I saw on Netflix called The Platform
These shows are apparently wildly popular in S Korea. My partner loves these, as well as "K-Dramas," and similar shows from S Korea. That said, I can't get over the suspension of disbelief necessary to enjoy these shows. I can't forget that there is a camera, that there is an entire film crew behind the camera, that all of the people we can see are paid actors, that the entire situation is highly-contrived, etc. For example, in real life, if the situation was some mad-scientist millionaire and "the game" was real, if someone spent the group money on fancy clothes, I would make sure she would never do that again.......
I think I could have watched this in real time and still not understood everything going on.😊
Great show , binged it
Mr beast has gone out of his comfort zone
This is based on a true story just letting you know, a guy who was forced to basically be tortured/neglected on a tv show for almost two years for money
Iirc that guy got screwed over at the end to boot.
Feels like the objective of this movie is to make the audience upset like what are these weird ragebait scenarios
Is this a movie or a math lesson?
The sideman just did something similar to this!!!
Sometimes expectations becomes your undoing.
Nine hundred and a million one is a crazy number
Did he just say "B.A.E Jinsoo"??? Lol
Moral of the story? Dont trust anybody and dont cooperate in suspicious games that give you lots of money.
Yep
It really shows the state of south korea how literally every show they produce is about how bad capitalism is
Yea capitalism makes good TV wish they made real shows like this
Remember to take frequent breaks after all that strenching
Are they wrong though?
IS IT about capitalism? Idk. I would say it’s more like communism where a everybody is supposed to be equal but in reality, at some point, a few end up being on top and become the ruling force, more like North Korea.
@@Gundumb_guy ah yes they get different amounts for the same time from the beginning for no reason. Classic socialism
Mr beast during the purge
