Electabuzz: It's paralized on a spot.
Slowbro: It's paralized on a spot.

I just looked, that Pinsir can't hit Gengar, all it knows are fighting and normal type moves

@DustinC23 Gen 1 Seismic Toss is different. It can hurt Gengar with that move. It just won't get boosted as it's fixed damage

Found this randomly, but man,the announcer is gold with sibtitiles on ( nice video bro)

Unfortunately, outside of the bosses, the announcing for Gym Leader Castle will sound boring for the 1st trainer as of Misty's Gym to Giovanni's Gym plus the second and third gyms. The interesting announcing will come from the 1st trainer, the bosses, and the Champion Rival.

The trapping moves mechanics are interesting.
You aren't allowed to attack while trapped but you can switch which resets the battle phase. They changed it in gen 2 obviously but I wonder how that would work if it was like that now

Yeah that shit tripped me up. I was confused why when they switched from Electabuzz to Gengar, nothing happened instead of the Gengar having to take a hit during the switch in

All I can say is that people will get flustered by these mechanics at first but they'll be able to adapt

Gen 1 was a beautiful mess.

If trap moves still used their Gen 1 mechanics, they'd absolutely be paired with entry hazard users. You can't move, but you're free to switch, and therein lies how f*cking evil it would be to pair with Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes, etc.

DAMN, this brings back some bad memories...I remember having the hardest time scuffling with the Elite Four here in PS1. And it wasn't even so much because I was fighting the Elite Four themselves. Each one of them was challenging enough to deal with, sure. But I remember what really kept pissing me off was that even after every time I did run through the Elite Four, and I come to face off against Gary; EVERY time I couldn't beat him, I had to start ALL the way back over from Elite Four #1, just to get right back to him. That was fucking INFURIATING.
To this day, I had never beaten the Elite Four challenge completely in this game because that system was so exhaustingly redundant.

I just noticed that Blue's team is different than the teams he had with his Blastoise and Jolteon respectively. How many teams does he have in this game? And what Pokémon do those teams consist of?

    • @ianfinrir8724

The player is using rental Pokemon, that's why Blue has a different team than normal.

@@yoshieggheads07yoshibird64 the team he uses is determined on whether what game you're using and the starter of your choice and the outcome. Eg, if you're playing Red and chose Charmander, he'll have a Blastoise or if you chose Yellow and did the path to get Vaporeon, he'll have Vaporeon

Nobody sane uses physical attacks on Alakazam, but with this game's rentals you have to take what you can get
