Season 6 is gear reset combined with mission reworks…..not enough. Hope div3 just has mission randomness with spawn types/locations sort of thing as standard.
2.0 is not really the problem, it the season after that will be the problem.
No library or stash, to start off 2.0, as they say new feelings are coming for the seasons.

I disagree, it's a financial model that emphasizes new players because they know "X" percentage are going to buy a season pass or skin. The more new players the greater the number to buy.

The seasonal character is probably going to continue to report directly to Manny while the main character goes rogue w/ keener
until the remaining division consolidates with rogues as Nat and co get closer to the white house.

What's the actual point of exotic components anymore? To keep upgrading your main's gear for the six weeks a year it's usable?

That is to say I agree with what you're saying here. Skins pull in revenue and won't lose what little bit of the player base we have left. I'd like to add to this point, the incursion did well and more incursions would be nice. Hell, they could just rework existing locations for some new incursions. The off site strong holds, the pentagon, and the raid maps come to mind immediately for this.

The concept art you showed that's from China... the first image isn't from China. It's concept art made by a 3d artist who I believe was employed by Massive a while back. His name escapes me now but I recall seeing it in his portfolio.
As I see it you farm the sessional for stuff that you could use for your main character (20% czeska?) and then skip the rest
it won't come back to you until the intermission, when the season is effectively over. if you want the new gear before then, need to make a season character.

If they want money, sell items from the old season tracks. They're already done, with a reasonable price and people that've missed them, sold. Don't make it the center piece but add that. You (dod) are right, who's going to pick up a 6 year old game because it got an update (that pissed off most of the veteran players). This was just not thought out. Sounds like an executive thought to get new people in game do this this and this and was yes'd to death...and here we are, having me questioning whether I even want to invest in the Brooklyn DLC. I obviously will, but I shouldn't be contemplating, I should be hyped.

Hi DOD, I understand the thought behind "new skins" but I think, first of all, it will not solve their problem (not enough players will buy them) and second, it will push them towards selling "pay to win" things ...

Just improve what they already have. Put a small small percentage drop rate of raid exotics in the incursion. How about a legendary countdown with damn near god rolled gear drops. The Summit with increased XP and exotic drops. One legendary mission everyday with a guaranteed exotic drop. Get one exotic component for every Shepherd rank you go up. I’m just spitballing here but I think they need to just open the game up to make it worthwhile to play all the content.
While I partially agree that they should add those kind of skins that China has, I wouldn't want them on here. It would break the emersion for me, some of the skins that I've seen do look really cool and would fit into the game but some of the rest are a bit too much in my opinion.

My optimism is gone. You know Dod that I would give seasonal characters an actual fair shake, but right now I'm yet to be convinced they won't screw it up.
So rogue-lite seasons. Not really sure, if I recall how often I played my alternates, I am not sure, this will be the "mode" for me.

I'd be OK with exotic weapon skins if it means they drop the stupid seasonal characters plan.
My opinion Is the amount of money they've spent on "Game Modes" like Descent is an absolute waste. It sort of seems like a seasonal character in the same way as you start at "zero" every time with no reasonable progression save. It makes me think they're idea of "content" is quantity over quality. It's safe to assume that the long term players, like myself, have paid for almost everything to this point. Therefore I would/will pay a typical full price for another map with, missions, control points, etc. I know they've announced a new DLC but I can't be too excited about that because we may never get that. Yes I'm considering the recent cancellation of Heartland to be a factor in that statement. I think overall character skins would be something worth paying for. Fortnite seems to put out 42 new skins every six seconds all costing about $2. Of course I'm exaggerating, but that company manages to pump out the small content whilst still putting out new game modes that continue to keep the overall players base happy and simultaneously attracting new players. I agree with everyone who have commented on seasonal characters and how bad of an idea it is. If they reverse the timeline for said seasonal characters, in other words if the "intermission" is when you use the new character and that only lasts two weeks but we have the rest of the four months to play our main character then I would be okay or on board 100%.

They are clearly in need of more money to help them fund Division 3, hense this desperate ploy of theirs.
I am all in favour of them milking what is left of Division 2 so that they can hopefully make Division 3 better.

well the difference is that a lot of people play WoW (and thus bought the sparkle pony) and not very many people play Div2. So even the most fire of fire skins has it's potential revenue limited by the player base #s.
But you haven't noticed the up-tick in MTX since year 5? They are already doing this, but the div2 art aethetic is all over the place.
Cant say I'm a fan of the China skins (don't fit the world, but that's just my opinion), but they have 1) an audience and 2) resources.

I wouldn't. Now you know a guy that wouldn't. The price of skins is utrerly stupid IMO. I'll give you £1 for a skin. That's it. I do not care about cosmetics. I wouldn't care if someone else did though.
I also do not care for this "new" seasonal stuff theu want to do. If I had a choice and I had to pick one, yeah I'd probably take the skin.
I enjoy the realistic skins, you won't see my guy running around in flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt. I'm all for skins but we don't need Nikki in our game like COD. I for one am looking forward to the change just for the sake of trying it. I personally have never felt that Div 2 lived up to Div 1 somehow they got away from the grittiness of one with a great story and Div 2 had a great story until the Black Tusk came in and then it just seem to lose context. I have concerns for sure but it seems like theres more videos about how many people are complaining than people actually complaining. And yes I would just like for once to load into an update and not have my rifles not make any sound, or suddenly all my gear is maxed rolled, but unfortunately thats not where we are in the gaming industry anymore.

Year 6 is the transition to the third game. While we do that, they're gonna destroy every aspect of the character you've been building all this years before releasing the trailer for TD3 saying non of that will happen again. Repeat to the 4th if players didn't learn.
Nice bedroom analogy. As to the skins: I couldn’t care less about skins but I seem to be an exception. Having said that: have you seen the female ass on the First Descendant character? Some men will need to play that game with a white colored controller. I’d pay for small DLC’s though - provided the content is fresh. The way the manhunts have ‘climaxed’ in the past would be satisfying enough for me. As for the Seasonal Content: we basically get a hybrid game then. One for the new players on which Ubisoft will probably focus (separate servers which will undoubtedly be better maintained) and one for the veterans with “more bugs than Helldivers” (to steal your quote). Wonder what will happen when the veterans will en masse start working on the Seasonal ‘Climax’. Servers might get fried.

Everything u mentioned plus the problems that is currently happening, I wonder if they even care about the game. They have PTSes (play test servers) yet they don't test shit. When they do test shit, they don't listen to what needs changes or it's not what needs testing (AKA removal of world tiers, 1 endgame, etc). From what I remember, they listened and cared about the game in the beginning of the redeployment.
Eve online is starting a system where players design their own skins, and profit from it (economic system game).

how to make more money: put raid exusives weapons in the shop. alot of players (including me). dont have the time or groups to get certain weapons. i would kill to get my hands on the Ouroboros and the Regulus. i would gladly pay 50$ for those 🤣

Neah I left Destiny, Overwatch and Call of Duty when they started incorporating expensive skins… if this game starts doing that I don’t care if I put a ton of hours into this game I’ll be out… this game already has a small community making shit expensive isn’t gonna keep the player base… that’s why overwatch and call of duty got so much hate and lots of players did stop playing those games… Destiny 2 on the other hand is in a better state now but its not like Destiny 1… lots of players didn’t come back to Destiny 2

Im nobody...except someone whos been supporting this dying-developer- destroying-Division2 game every season. Once i heard we are staring over im done. They no longer get my support. I get its just a joke but i dont want boobs in this game either. If China is getting thise sick azz skins i want them too, id pay for those! But seriously, all we need is new missions every couple weeks, make them hard as hell legendary difficulty and i bet you people would pay. This game has so much more potential left.
