    Some info suggests that Imaginarium Theater is getting some updates in the near future; more stages seem to be coming, which would make it more difficult. If this is true, then I'm glad that Hoyo is already taking steps to make some updates, as I do believe that Imaginarium Theater has a lot of promise.

    ive said it before, but genshin has this problem of adding too many layers of restriction/rng for whatever thing theyre doing. the element restriction and built character limit is fine, but if theyre going to do that, they have to change or remove the vigor system

    I just wished they removed the 4-man team restriction. Wasting your support's Vigor feels so bad when all you do is bench them on the 4th slot.

    The amount of primos that you can get for clearing the extra rewards for hard mode is not enough to justify the amount of primos (in resin equivalent) that you would spend to raise characters you don't even use

    honestly in the easy mode i liked it. i could use the characters and didnt have to build anyone besides the few i had
    but in normal and hard mode, the difficulty doesnt only get harder, but the requirements too. you need well built characters and not a lot of ppl build so many characters (and sometimes ur unlucky enough to build characters from an element and it isnt chosen)
    i hate the abyss and now i hate this too

    Easy fix: let people do teams with less than 4 units/only consume vigor if the character gets on field at least once during the fight.

    It looked VERY low-effort to me...
    This is not even really "additional content" let alone "endgame content because they replaced an Abyss slot with this. It's also not really the endgame we wanted. Endgame was supposed to be something we can occupy ourselves with. This is only once per month and you can finish it within a half-hour. It's not really much different than the Abyss cycle it replaced in that regard- just more complicated.
    But how long did they even take to create this garbage. It wasn't very long ago that they said they had a flier out looking to hire people to come up with an endgame concept and now we have this. I think this was clearly rushed together to compete with WW.

    The new mode would've been fine if they just gave us the option to use pre-built characters like they do in events, especially because of the weird requirement of having multiple characters. I'm quite sure that 90% of the playerbase don't have all their characters built because why bother? You're not gonna use ALL of them anyway. There is absolutely NO reason for us to be forced into wasting time and resources just to build characters we will never bother using in the overworld or in the abyss just to play Imaginarium Theater.

      if they fully committed the gamemode as a permanent combat EVENT, I can see them doing this and it would be pretty cool. But since it's being treated as "endgame", it will be designed for building multiple characters.

    Worst game, im stuck with 3 DPS in one stage, in other stage i stuck with 2 healer and 1 shilder.

    Too restrictive.
    I just straight up get less primogems now than I did before.
    I can 36* every abyss easly, but there's no way Ican build 10+ characters for each element.

    this element limit was prob the worst for my roster but i built enough 4 stars to suffice. I mainly use geo hydro dendro so cryo and anemo is going to be a pain

    The biggest question is how this game mode made it through the beta like this.
    Its super easy, but with a couple of tedious elements built in as the "challenge". That's terrible design.

    ok, using my case which I'm pretty sure most ppl will be under the same situation or even worse..
    I'm ar59, and I don't have any anemo char well-built besides kazuha, and mid-built besides sayu, but her artifacts are lvl15 or so.. my faruzan is c5, but she's lvl50 and her artifacts are all lvl0..
    from the enforced line-up: arlecchino, clorinde and kuki are well-built.. toma is lvl20 (I don't use him), and wanderer I don't have nor will I ever have.. I don't like him, so I won't pull for him..
    from the special guest, only sigewinne is available, but she's not meant to be used with any of the enforced elements..
    from the available chars, I have fully-built: raiden, yoimiya, kazuha, and chevreuse.. mid-built: fischl, keqing, sayu, lynette, and yanfei.. and poorly-built or not built at all: dehya and traveler.. all the 4* which weren't mentioned, have their level below 40..
    my only overload team (raiden/clorinde/arlecchino/chevreuse) depends completely on a stupid RNG, and I'd only be able to use this team once, since some of them would've been used on the first act, having only 1 energy left..
    the majority of the chars I have built and are strong (nahida, furina, neuvillette, yelan, kokomi, ayaka, ganyu, zhongli, and yaoyao) aren't allowed due to the stupid elemental enforcement..
    so no, it's not easy, nor it's fun.. I managed to get until act 5, where all I have left was wanderer (which is pretty garbage btw), faruzan, kazuha and raiden, and they couldn't get 7 kills before the monolith got destroyed, bc the enemies launch that energy ball on top of the stupid monolith and by the time I kill the 6th, the monolith is already destroyed.. which reminds me, idk who was the retarded who thought that bringing the idiotic monolith was a good idea.. it's stupid in the abyss, it's stupid here..
    I thought it would be like SU in HSR, which would be really fun to play, bc you do it at your own pace with char you want to play with, and I completed world 9 with no difficulties at all.. even the new SU I completed V3 already, and I'll try the next level later..
    but no, instead we have: chars with limited uses, demented monolith, enforced elements, enforced cast, limit to use friends' chars, and you can't use what you want to use.. also, there's no way I'll go to waste time and resources into upgrading chars that I don't like or don't use just to get 300 primos.. 2 days worth of welkin and dailies already gives me that..

      it would be interesting if the buffs were more impactful like SU. as for your teams, I think you can have an easier time if you spread your units out a bit more. a fully trial wanderer team like the one I used in the video background can easily clear 2 stages. Kazuha himself with a sub-DPS can AoE down stages himself as well. So you'll have plenty of choice left since you have units like Arlecchino, Clorinde, and Raiden which can each be in separate teams. If you need an extra boost, you can also use a friend character.

      Skill issue, use wanderer for the first two stage, the last boss you can defeat him with kazuha-bennett-xiangling-fischl

    Keep in mind, This is the first iteration o it and they can just make the enemies hard for future version. This is easy probably because they need Data on how this interact with other players

    Just beating the stage isn't too hard for an older account if you ignore getting all the rewards, but I'd argue that it's not easy as you say. As I was conserving my strongest characters for the final Act 8 boss, I only have limited strong characters going into the Act 6 twin Vishap fight and oh boy did it take a while to finally manage getting all the rewards.
    You also mentioned because we can borrow one character, you don't recommend building additional characters for this game mode. One character can only do do so much for 2 acts unless you can get a vigor refresh. So trying to clear all 8 acts still need 11 decently build characters (18 minus one borrowed characters and 6 trial).

      I've noticed a pattern where the ones who say this is very easy are either whales (or dolphins), or veteran players who already have a lot of built characters. Everyone else is gonna have a hard time.

    I hope it's okay to leave my thoughts here.
    For me, the ideal Imaginarium Theater would look like this. Choose a certain group among all your characters.
    The selected group is not limited in any way.
    Characters in this game mode (group) have a "spell" slot,
    but characters from the selected element or selected weapon will receive an additional "spell" slot.
    "Spell" is a buff and consists of two parts: "Active" and "Passive". “Active” is a one-time, very powerful buff, “Passive” is a small buff to all characters in the group, lasting all rounds.
    For Example: After using this spell, the selected character will receive a buff (Active) that increases the duration of the skill/ult ten times, for one round only. Additionally, all characters will receive a buff (Passive), which increases the duration of skills/ults by 30% for all rounds.
    Each round begins by selecting two spells from five random ones, and selecting one set of opponents from three random ones. These choices must be presented at the same time to be able to draw the appropriate spell from your opponents.
    The spell will occupy the spell slot until the end of all rounds.
    So you can use the character multiple times, but the "spell" boosts are very limited.
    Spells are an alternative to the Vigor system that is not as restrictive, but in my opinion it encourages players to build characters and teams.
    And it doesn't create a "Random bullshit go!" situation, only two characters have spells, the other two are there to create a properly functioning team.
    I'm not sure if the other two should be from all the characters you have or just to a select group.
    If the mode had 10 rounds, the first 3 should be very easy for anyone to do, the next 3 at abyss level 30 stars, the next 3 rounds slightly above 36 abyss, and the last round only doable for owners of C6R5 characters.
    Primogem rewards should be cumulative.
    If you are able to complete round 10 you should receive all rewards after your first playthrough. If you are only able to complete the first 3, you will have to complete these three rounds several times to receive all the rewards. (for example 5 times)
    If you have a lot of leveled characters, it will be much easier for you, but if you only have free characters, you will also be able to collect all the rewards.
    Casual players won't complain because they can claim all the rewards.
    And hardcore players can test how far they can go and play with exceptionally strong power-ups.
    To make sure the hardcore players didn't feel like they weren't getting anything special for their efforts, they would receive 5 "Sanctifying Unctions" for completing each subsequent round. To get all Artifact EXP you must complete all rounds.
    The rewards must be weak so that casual players do not feel disadvantaged.
    Each restart brings new sets of enemies and new spells.
    “Active” buffs can be very creative and powerful.
    (for example, the enhanced claymore attack has an animation 5 times faster and lasts until you turn it off)
    In general, this mode is more focused on being fun than being challenging. Randomness and challenge rarely go together because when you lose you don't know if it was your fault or if you were unlucky. And the only way to improve your score is to keep trying until you get lucky.

    Either get rid of the randomness of the characters you get or get rid of the vigor system, can't have both it's just super frustrating even when it's easy to clear

    I have a c2r1 wriothesley who could have soloed the event besides for the last boss if there was no vigor, i feel it is fine to have vigor.

    I wish they hadn't tried to reinvent the wheel and just copied out elysian realm or simulated universe... I think for a permanent end gamemode its not the best place to start experimenting with the gameplay. Yes the idea of certain elemtnal reactions is super fun, but is it really that much different from abyss? In my opinion, in its current version, its not. Infact it feels liks abyss with extra steps. To add to it, they already have quite a bit of experience with roguelite gameplay on their other games, so why couldnt they hire one of those designers with more experience? Like I mean they did it with shaoji for hsr story and all of a sudden hsr got amazing writing why not for genshin also. It just feels so sad to see that the game that made it possible for them to invest so much money on their other projects gets treated like crap.

    I don't play genshin anymore, but this video still poped up in my reccomendations. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks this gamemode sucks.
    I liked genshin mainly for its combat, elemental reactions,teambuilding ,etc. I loved making my characters stronger. But the announcement of this mode was the last drop for me. The elemental restrictions are ok, it provides some challenge. I liked that aspect. But an "endgame" mode where you are forced to use trial characters??? Wtf??? I spent my money and time on building my own favourite characters and they force me to use trial characters who I don't own and like?
    In the end, I sold my account and left genshin. That wasn't an easy decision, but the game was giving me more disappointment and anger than pleasure. The abyss was already too easy for my account and good combat events were very rare. The new game mode sucks and there probably won't be a new one any time soon. When I sold my account, though I felt sad at first, I also felt very relieved. I should have done that months ago

      @@nationalgeografic7687 Being unable to use Neuvillete in the new mode wasn't the reason I was upset, if that's what you are talking about. Quite the opposite, I think that banning hydro characters from this season is a nice change of pace. Since Neuvillete's and Furina's release, people have been relying on them a bit too much

      ​@@nationalgeografic7687 I don't even have neuvillette and I still don't like this game mode lmfao and even if I did have neuvillette I should be able to use him in any non limited game mode (like I get it if it's a limited mode but it's permanent) cuz what's the point of pulling for a character when you can't even use them for like 2 months in one of the main endgame content in the game. Sometimes it's not really about the meta, some people really do enjoy neuvillette even if he isn't the meta, people will prob still use him because of lore and stuff, one example of this is amber mains pretty much clearing end game content with her but now they can't even use her in one of the end game once pyro is out of the rotation.

    I honestly dont mind this end game. Its entertaineing
    I understand the requirment for characters since not many players purchases new characters
    and not many of those who do really build them
    but this game mode simply encourages players to build different (mainly non-meta) characters to fill the number requirement
    and with the vigor system you need to manage your Strong vs Weak Characters to ensure clear
    it makes you use characters you might not normally use like Anddad said
    but we need to understand that this also makes players want/need to purchase new characters (they need to make money)
    i will fault them on the fact that they will not alter the imaginarium each season to make it be more replayable.
    we also need to keep in mind that this is the first time they have this so the content will be easier until we get use to the actual system
    but thats just my t hought :)

      yea one of my main issues is that the difficulty of the combat itself doesn't incentivize "properly" building more characters. you don't need to in order to get all the rewards, you can just level them to the minimum amount to meet the requirement. i do like this idea of rewarding horizontal investment, however. hopefully it gets updated in the near future!

    I actually disagree with some parts of the video mainly RNG and Difficulty. I believe that the RNG is fairly lenient because fantasia flowers are designed around forcing specific characters or regaining vigor on used up characters, due to this I feel as if the mode is fun where you are forced to come up with creative comps (and creative uses of distributing vigor) and then use your strong comps for the bosses. Buffs can be valuable for a run but they're designed around improving your planned comps rather than being a full Roguelike build where you focus on a niche and make it busted. (Afterall you lose and gain characters thru a run, you can't build a specific niche when key parts of it are slowly taken away.)
    As for difficulty i think it's less to do with the RNG and more to do with the fact that this is just the first theater, they should make it easier as players get acquiented with the mode. It will very likely get harder over the course of Natlan. This does mean you have to have hope in the devs which I am aware is... a bit thin around Genshin discussion.
    I personally don't think "account investment" is the best word to describe theaters flaws (after all players should have a reason to invest in characters and only through modes like these where you are asked to pick 4 stars and give them builds whether it's leftover artifacts or grinding talents instead of more artifacts) instead the issue lies in the "lack of resources", you gain resources (resin) overtime, if they gave us more free characters/weapons and more fragile resin. The investment issues wouldnt be as apparent if players can just get Kaveh, Chevreuse or Kirara through shops, but instead they have to get lucky with banner timing on top of being timegated with how much progress a player can make at a time.
    These are just my thoughts though! There's a bunch I wanna say but I'm trying to make it as concise as possible. I'd love for this mode to be improved and I think our feedback as players should be focused around how to make the mode better instead of just telling them they did a horrible job (if we do say this I feel as if they'll give up with theater and not actually improve what I personally think is a really fun endgame idea).

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think the systems you explained about Imaginarium Theater is what I want to see in this gamemode. Unique teambuilding, random character and buffs, etc. It's just that IMO, the current iteration is too easy in terms of combat difficulty. And because of this, the idea of building creative comps, for instance, gets dumbed down, since you don't need to do so to clear the stage. Same goes with the buffs. If it was more difficult, then the team-building and buffs would be more important, which would make the game mode more interesting. But as you said, this is the first iteration, so I hope Hoyo does take some feedback and makes some changes in the future since I do believe Imaginarium Theater has a lot of potential.

I think as long as player feedback is centered around improving the difficulty and distributing more resources for us to build characters, the mode should be much better.       This! I'm in the process of building all the males I have, but the problem is resources. I wouldn't mind levelling the girls to 70, but books and mora are hard to come by, while also needing to farm artifacts, and that's just for the ones that I'm focused on. Not to mention resources for future favourites.
      I think the rng's fine, and I find it fun when I'm sometimes left with scuffed teams. Trying out kits I'll never pull is really nice too. I just hate that it basically requires me to waste mats on fodder units.

    U r wrong about only have few strong character. The peoblem is that the hard mode, u cant just simply go and level the character n u r good to go, no, they need to build properly, u need weapon, talent books, resources, and FKING RNG ARTIFACT.
    On top of that, its not like players who cant even try hard mode dont have characters, the fact is that we need to build those bad character which r at lvl 1.
    U need to know that building a character takes time n resourses, even 1 character can take few months to properly build.
    The trail characters r annoying, they have shit build, shit energy.
    This mode gives a bad example to players, specially to new players that they need to hurry n build as many characters as fast as possible, as compare to 1 at a time.
    Yeah good luck trying hard mode with bad character with ratios like 40/50cr 80/90cd

    Instead of adding a higher floor in the abyss, they chose to create this dogshit mode. Imo they agreed on this game mode so that players will have to pull for more characters and thus more income.

If all you can think of for endgame content is to add more difficulty than where's the end to that ? Theare mode might have flaws but atleast its trying to be more creative and less braindead than simply adding another abyss floor and people mostly likely just gonna wipe it with their same strongest team over and over again.

If adding more difficulty means no ending then same thing goes for adding more characters. Saying the purpose of theatre mode is to be creative with teambuilding like you can't do the same in Abyss while also monitoring whether that team works effectively or not on high difficulty stage. People defending this mode are just afraid to get backshot by slimes.

And I could say that people that hate this game mode are just salty because they cant solo everything with their favorite characters everytime and have to use characters they personally hate and never touch. Sure I have characters that I dont like but not to the point that I never touch them or dont know how to use them properly.

    imaginarium isn't that bad when you understand it's a roguelite, people are just mad because they couldn't clear it full star, full side-objective, full achievements, no death, no shower, on the first try

    You contradict yourself by saying it is restricted, but then easily clearing it with low invested and all trial characters.
    The game-mode is perfectly fine, I like it as a sub for abyss, BUT it definitely doesn't offer enough 'end-game' content. We have the same overall amount of content.
