Your kidding right a 26000lb rolling herd average isn't anything special from a hay based ration. A herd average like that wouldn't stay in business in the united states'.

I have been to this guy’s place and he is achieving a milk solids of over 8 percent his herd average solids of 1013 kg of solids per cow per lactation which on a herd of this size is pretty impressive for American viewers that is c.2250 lbs per cow and his milk which goes to make a very specific high value cheese so the price per kg of milk solids he gets is very good and is not based on world market prices but rather is based on the retail value of the cheese. I would suspect that there isn’t a single American dairy farmer achieving anything close to his average price over the last five years and his value of production per cow is probably amongst the highest in the world , at least it is way above what the vast majority of us Europeans receive. Because his customer is not in a position to buy milk from outside the district or milk from cows not feed specifically for the production of the cheese they produce he is in a great position and can therefore spend to develop his business and employ as many as he wants basically, I asked him about robotics for milking and he was not interested, he said that he would not have the patience to never be finished milking which is a valid point.
