It is so different from other Catan games and has so many new elements that it almost feels like a completely new game. It’s a bit complicated but definitely worth it.
This is a really smart scenario especially when combined with the Catan Cities & Knights Expansion it becomes really competitive for experienced players.
It takes around 90 minutes.

Very good video to explain how to combine with cities and knight!
But whatdo you do about the development cards? I guess you dont use the ones from barbarians and simply use the one from cities and knight instead? And no need to play them right away

If you combine the scenario with cities and knights, how do you displace a knight?

can you only attack the barbarians if theres 3 barbarians on the hex or can you attack if it's just one or two on the hex as well?

It would be easier to attack the barbarians when they are few in number. So yes, you don't need to wait until there are 3 on a hex.
