Very cool project. As I’m sure you’re aware, a projectile is stabilized with either spin or fin. To go one step further, you could put fins on it, like a dart. Then you could cut a deep, thin slot in the main body to accommodate the bottom fin. Should increase the accuracy.
The sad thing is that I only watch the video to get excited, because I don't have any of those tools at my disposal. But it's a great job, the truth is very creative.
Для того что бы сделать арболетик надо: токарный станок, болгарка, шлифовальный станок, ленточная пила или лобзик и т. д. 😁 Но главное у него руки есть и это факт! Молодец! 👍
Very nice job! At 6:00 though, you mention the arrow. The projectile that is shot from a crossbow is always called a bolt. Great project and great craftsmanship!
The Clickspring channel shows how to work soft metals like aluminum and brass with very inexpensive hand tools. As far as the lathe goes, store bought bolts would work just as well. And you certainly don't need to make your own plywood. He has some nice tools so he put a little extra flair into his project. The fancy tools aren't necessary to make stuff like this, they just make it faster and more convenient.
Back in the early 90's, I met a gentleman who was born somewhere around 1915 or so. One day, sitting in the local restaurant, he told a story about he and his cousin making a crossbow. They were both in their late teens. He said they used a leaf spring from a car for the "power" of the crossbow. He said the very first time they used the crossbow, they used a half-inch bolt, with the head cut off, as the "ammunition". He told me that they aimed it at the side of the barn, and the bolt went through the wood. Which would've been bad enough. But, according to him, it got worse. He said that, after the bolt went through the side of the barn, it struck and KILLED his uncle's bull. Let's just say, his uncle was not happy! And, of course, the crossbow never existed after that first shot.
Thank you for almost 2 million views! What would you like to see in next projects?

Nice work. I like the fact you went to the trouble of making the plywood body yourself instead of using stock ply. Nice piece of engineering 👍
Nicely done! I like your collection of springs.

Imagine you catch a burglar in you home ,"Hey you put'm up!". Burgular says,"May I see it, it's so lil and cute!"
Buen trabajo pero un consejo, los agujeros en los metales mejor hacerlos antes de cortar.
I'd buy one, especially if it had something to keep the bolts in place
Great awesome work 💪💪💪🙋♂️
It might require some smoothing on the trigger hook? the string is getting cut by it.
Cool project. Looks like the bolt flies true. Great video. Mahalo for sharing. : )
