A duel pc stream will sit net better frame rate over single pc but that's why most professional streamers use single pc. Hes slightly out of date here. @@jetlifemonroe7720 You might not have enough cores so its heavily putting stress on your CPU. AMD CPU's typically have more cores and give much better multi-core performance than Intel. Something like the 16 core 32 thread 3950x would do alot better. However maybe you should check your internet speed. What is the resolution that you are trying to stream at also? Make sure that Windows is up to date and you have the latest Nvidia driver.

Interesting video, covered alot of great points. Your main (gaming) pc is more than capable to stream with NVENC at 1080/60 with the same quality as the dual pc. Twitch limits bitrate, even if you are pushing above the advertised limit of 6k bitrate, 6megs is STILL not enough for FPS/fast paced gameplay on twitch, YT allows more (thank god!) Looking forward to watching more of your content, interested in seeing how you setup your rigs. Ive toyed around with Single and Dual PC streams, audio comes complicated in some scenarios, but with my running a 3900x, 32gb ram and a 2060super, a a 15fps frame drop on single pc streaming is a no-brainer for me.... and 30 series cards, are even more of a reason to single pc stream. Look up AlphaGaming/Harris Hellers videos, hes another creator dropping down to a single pc.
    Great work on the vid!

So the requirements for gaming are lower than for streaming right? I mean, you can run most games with many different settings that will allow you to fine tune the best detail you can get with any set up. But for streaming you NEED the power to overclock and a graphics card to run the content, camera, overlays, transitions, etc.
I have a new AMD 8-core Ryzen with integrated graphics and an i7 4-core with a GTX1060. On which computer should I stream?

I have an 17-9700k (OC'd to 4.9Ghz) and an RTX 2080 GPU. When streaming I was dropping 25-60% of my frames on the stream due to my CPU maxing out. (yes, I'm encoding with NVENC) The only way I could stream without dropping frames was to drop my 1440p 144fps base canvas to 1080p 144fps, and my stream to 720p30fps. So I'd have to disagree with your recommendations of going lower on the CPU. Unless there's something I'm missing that you could help me with?? Oh, internet upload speed is 750-850mbs. yes, you read that right. so its not my internet either.

I realize you wrote this a while ago but have you tried upping the graphics in game? My brother in law liked to game with "competitive" settings and had some issues. I told him to raise his graphics some as to load up the GPU more, otherwise many games will load up the CPU then divert any excess to GPU meaning you'll see 99% CPU and like 30% GPU usage.

With your fps drop from games gas to do with graphics card and gaming not graphics card and streaming. The gtx 1660, gtx 1650super, rtx 20-30 series graphics card all use there new dedicated nvenc encoder doesn't matter which one of those cards you use the streaming/encoding performance will all be the same because they all use the same chip. You will get the same streaming performance as a rtx 3090 with the gtx 1650 super. And when using nvencs encoder you might drop around 3-5 fps. And you can encode 3 things at once. Like stream, record and render a video all at once without effecting your graphics card gaming performance because of its dedicated encoder chip.

I have a single PC with i7 8700 and GTX 1080 I stream with while playing.
I never had any trouble until trying to play Borderlands 3. But, there have been a lot of complaints since that game launched because of bad optimization. That game alone heats up my processor and GPU at 60 fps cap more than other games I've played with unlimited fps, while streaming them too.

Yeah this guys talking way way over kill nobody starting off would need PCs like this I ran streams with a gtx 970 for a while and it felt a little bottlenecked but it ran 1080 60 FPS on most games a 2070 would do it without a sweat

Great video there are not a lot of videos explaining you need a expensive pc for streaming or two pc one being a cheap for obs and whatever enchantments for broadcasting the stream and then the gaming pc which has to handle ultra graphics and high fps. In the long run to look like the pros its going to cost you either way.

If you right click OBS and run as administrator. That solves the gpu load issues. This is a not so well known solution but It completely solved the frame rate capping issue. A duel pc stream will sit net better frame rate over single pc but that's why most professional streamers use single pc. Hes slightly out of date here. I'm not trying to be rude but help inform fellow pc nerds.

    • @WhiteShade01
      @WhiteShade01 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah man if you run as administrator it will help with some frame rate issues and give you that little boost. Lots of ppl know that, but still if you are serious about streaming you want the best.

Yeeeah, you really have no idea what you're talking about. If you're new to streaming and you want to learn, don't listen to this guy. IF you're on a budget, you can easily get away with a 1660 or a 1660 Ti, and a mid tier CPU for single PC setting. Use the New NVENC encoder and you'll be fine for MOST situations with 60fps. But yeah...don't listen to him, he really has no idea what he's talking about :/

The capture card I have would limit my fps on my game machine so I’m single pc streaming right now. I have mid-high tier machine but still have issues when running titles with higher recommended specs. The game will be running great on my end but the output suffers. Currently looking on how to send some of the power from the game and to the stream. I know their is a way to balance this.

So let me just get this straight. It's best to max out your gaming PC hardware specs in which you're running your game, Discord, and Twitch chat on. Whereas with the streaming PC you really just need the minimum hardware specs for it to still run at a high level. Is this correct?

was going to say a i5 would not cut it but then i remembered the 9600 is 6 cores 6 threads.
to stream and play you want more than 4 cores no matter what gpu you have.
My friend has a i5 7400, gtx 1080 and 16gb ram and gets worse fps than i do wile streaming the same game at the same settings and i have a i7 5820k gtx 980 16gb ram because i have them extra cores to run the stream both streams at 1080p and play at 1080p.
Yes my pc is old i am planning on getting a 3080ti when there come out and latter in the year get ether a i9 or amd idn atm have not looked yet.
gpu i can slot in an play cpu i would need new mother-bored cpu and cooler so even no im looking at a 3080ti its cheaper and would work better for games than me upgrading cpu 1st.

@@ripetika1600 but that's a different price range now. The 9900K give you £500, has 8 cores and 16 threads @5Ghz Max. Yet the Ryzen 9 3900x gives you £420 with 12 cores, 24threads @ 4.6GHz . So in reality, Ryzen is providing more cores, threads at a lower price.🤷‍♂️

Ok. I tried using streamlabs obs on a single pc. My pc isn’t top teir but my frames don’t drop in game but my stream suffers. Game capture doesn’t work properly and If I do only display capture it gets pixelated if too many things are happening in game. I am not running multi monitors either. So in this situation should I upgrade my current pc or get a streaming pc? I’m personally happy with my current one for games but which would be cheeper and just a better idea to do?

In my old streaming pc I had an old GeForce 710 in there just to get a signal to the screen but I used a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU and that did all the encoding and the stream looked good at 1080 60fps so from my experience, as long as you have a CPU that can handle it and choose that in OBS settings, you’ll be fine so don’t break the bank for something fancy

Nvidia has NVENC which is its own separate encoding processor without affecting gameplay performance, nor cpu performance.
