Your potential worst mistake of your life sir. Turned into one of the best sources of escapist reality adventures on TH-cam for many of us! Thank you for making that leap of faith! 👍
So glad you never gave up. We consider you a national treasure. I can't emphasize how much you help all of us who for a gamut of reasons can't get outside into nature as much as we wish. My headspace is much more balanced because of all you do. Thank you. P.s. always love your dedication to good meals. Not everyone out there cares. ❤
Jon - after Curtis (spouse) and I started watching you and Erin - we actually went out and bought a canoe. Sold my car, got a truck to tow it with and hit the many rivers, streams and lakes of the PNW. And it's because of YOU and this channel. I love seeing the world through your eyes. It gives Curtis and I a great feeling know the world will be left in hands like your's and Erin's. Young people that truly care about the environment, teaching others by example, leaving things better when you leave than when you got there. At 62 - we are both so thankful for younger people like yourselves. Where there are times of desperation for us boomers - we see people like you and Xander and others on TH-cam and it gives us pause and reminds us there are wonderful younger people out there that do care about what is right. As always - thank you for your passion, your amazing camera work - and ALL that you do.
Art always makes you vulnerable. Your photography and ability to take your viewers to the most beautiful places with you. I personally love when you are having a great time. You have a good sense of humor, are honest and great looking, Erin is a very lucky woman. Wishing you both the best on your journey together. Looking forward to the parts you share . Have fun 🎉
I’m so glad you made this decision to commit yourself to your adventures and share them with us! So many people will never have an opportunity to experience such intimacy with nature and may not even know what that serenity and beauty looks like. The world you’re bringing to us is so unique and pure that it is like a huge dose of psychological pleasure medication. Thank you Jon and thank your beautiful intelligent wife for supporting your dreams and contributing her efforts to make them a reality for you and the rest of us! ❤❤
Just want to express my appreciation for your trip videos and your personal code of ethics around the platform and your own living. I'm guessing there's a bit of a ceiling to the channel unless interest in the backcountry surges and it seems like you're probably aware that not branching into branding deals or content bait will limit your income. I'm glad you're able to stick to your vision and live comfortably and I think it's great that you know what you have and can appreciate while it's here. For what it's worth, your channel is my favourite thing to watch. It's real, funny, beautiful and informative for someone learning quickly about canoe route-finding (me).
You are one of my favorite TH-camrs ever. Not to sound creepy either but your videos help me fall asleep. I’ve shared youre channel with so many my friends too it’s awesome! Keep doing you and live your life- we only live it once!!!
Thank you for choosing to do this and providing amazing content and having a more deep provoking philosophy for your channel . It is awe inspiring that you have been able to do what you love and we are grateful for seeing this from you through your videos . Keep it going sir !
Thank you for the inspiration in going for what you love doing. Most of us dont take the risk and will never reap the soul rewards. I watch your videos initially because your doing adventures that happen to be in my neck of the woods.(hr away from your initial homebase..Mara...) Then I was entrigued by your story and process of youtubing outdoors adventures as a entrepreneur. Hope I bump into you one day to thank you personally..
An early Christmas prezzy! Thanks for in the in depth look behind the curtain. With a plethora of Naan based content;), stunning cinematography, and love letter to the outdoors. Jon, Erin & sometimes Xandorff Spudbank....thanks as always!
Xander and your personalities mesh well, different but fitting. Wouldn’t have blinked twice if you were old friends from grade school, but the fact of the matter is even more intriguing.
Watching you take the risk to go full time and your bromance with Xander has been so much fun to watch. Thanks for the background and all the beauty along the way.
Keep up the great work! I’ve been a fan since 2020. It’s been a joy to watch your channel grow and see you succeed. It’s clear that you are passionate about tripping and the artistry of filmmaking. I enjoy camping and the outdoors but it’s your authenticity that keeps me coming back. Also, I’ve always been curious about the day-to-day reality of TH-camrs so I appreciate the behind the scenes insight!
We thank you and other out door vlogger that show what wilderness is like and let us join you on your adventures. Through your vlogs you show what people can do. Enjoy what you do but invest for your eventual retirement.
Love the intermission segments. Thank you for being so open and honest. Great video Jon wish you all the best in the times to come and looking forward to watching! Merry Christmas
Have been with for 6 years and love your content. Hope you continue your magical, award worthy cinematic adventures!!! Keep up the great work and I’ll be with you all the way❤❤
Sage advice, especially for someone not succeeding on TH-cam. lol I'm very much enjoying this series. Do it for the joy and if you're able to be financially successful, that's great. Also, ignore the critics. It smacks of jealousy.
Couldnt think of a better way to tune out by "tuning in" on this cold Saturday afternoon in the Upper Ottawa Valley. Your introspection and insight is your trademark Jon so wear it proudly and keeping looking forward and keep doing you. Looking forward to whatever you put out on your own schedule. All the best for 2025!
John - we love you and your videos are beautiful and informative. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers. They have issues that have very little to do with you. Please keep going.
Many years ago I moved to BC with the idea that I might do something similar to you Jon. It didn't pan out that way, which is why your shows are such a pleasure to watch mate. Just knowing that someone has done this, and really made a fantastic job of it too. A very happy Christmas to you and yours. ❤🎄🎄🎉🎊
Thanks so much for all the info, details, and behind the scenes on this one Jon. It's nice to have a better understanding of how we can be more beneficial to the channel. Glad it's going well and excited for the long term prospects!
I really enjoy your videos. They are great on days when I can't seem to get off the couch. I also like to listen to them at night when going to sleep. I hope you are able to keep doing this for as long as you desire to. 💜
I love your channel! This video was a treat because of the camaraderie! Sometimes, unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch the longer videos. I hope to see them later! ❤
I'm one of the monsters that watch almost every minute but never bothered to subscribe. Until right.... Now! (Sorry for that). Thanks so much for what you do. This channel is chiefly responsible for my getting out there the past two years and doing some backpacking trips. A whole new world has opened up for me in the wild. Thanks and bravo
Hey man, I absolutely love the content that you are producing and wish you the best of luck with your venture in 2025! Love from southern Ontario. Keep it up!
Thanks for your inspiration! I quit my normal job a few months ago, but it hasn't gone well. I'm now resorting to working in the sex industry and my outdoor life is living under bridges with the equipment I have left over after pawning most of it. :)
I have always loved your back country videos Jon, You deffinantly have a knack to draw in an audience , Always epic Cinomatograpghy and drone footage, Naration ,& history of an area ,as well as the wildlife , spectacular backcountry camping, I feel that we are there with you. I'd love to see a trip to Opasquia. That park has like almost zero content. Maybe do it with Joe Robinet, assuming he's able. I know his injuries were substantial though. Just a thought.
Great Videos as always. For me, it's the way you narrate your videos and the flow of speaking about the subject(s). For the haters/bad comments, I block "words" and then block the person. Most times I don't even read the full comment. The moment it turns hateful, I block them from my channel. Works for me. Keep up the work and I couldn't even imagine carrying around the gear you have on your trips. I have a hard enough time recording in the wind. lol
Your videos are some of the best I’ve watched. Long episodes are great! I watch them all. Nothing more relaxing for me than watching your videos! Your attention to detail is much appreciated.Feel great about what you have achieved!
