    Hi Ian, thanks so much for your videos, studied them for hours and passed today with zero faults. I mirrored your way of driving and it paid off. Much appreciated. Colin.

    Meanwhile, six (!!) years later those "road works" on the bridge next to the Eden Centre (where the broken down car is) are still there ... only difference is that the concrete "temporary" barriers are now black and filthy instead of being white and clean as they are in this video!

    Was it really necessary to signal left on the first mini roundabout?

    • @ThinkDriving
      @ThinkDriving  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Yes it is necessary, we know where we are going, but no one else does so the more we can help them the better. By signalling left it tells anyone approaching in front of us we are definitely not going right so it is safe for them to proceed. Without a signal they may slow down more than they need to because they are not 100% sure where we are going. Hope this makes sense.

    On the second roundabout about for sign M40 why did you not signal right? According to the clock rule it should be signalled right isn't it?

    • @ThinkDriving
      @ThinkDriving  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI the clock rule is just a guide, some signs can be misleading to. As this one is at 2 minutes past 12 and there is a third exit after it, it would be safe to read it as follow the road ahead 2nd exit rather than right 2nd exit. If there where no more exits after it then i would read it as right 2nd exit instead. If your not sure ask your instructor he can talk to you in more detail. Hope this helps? :)

    What is checking for Bob and Tom??

    • @ThinkDriving
      @ThinkDriving  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Valentine BOB is Boy On Bike
      TOM is Teenager On Motorbike

    Who are Bob & Tom?

    • @ThinkDriving
      @ThinkDriving  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HS W4551 BOB is Boy on Bike. TOM is Tom on Motorbike. So your checking for them as they are vulnerable and quite often squeeze through gaps in traffic.

    No need for the first indication? There was no car on the other side of the roundabout or to the right. Overkill bill 😂😂🤪🤪

      @ThinkDriving  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should always indicate you intentions at junctions as long as they are not misleading. Could one of those cars in the driveways ahead be trying to come out? Ask yourself would a signal help them? or if there was somebody trying to cross the road ahead would they benefit?

    It's normal driving why you call it independent driving!

    • @ThinkDriving
      @ThinkDriving  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's what they call it on test, when following signs instead of being told where to go at each junction. Because when someone tells you to turn Right at the roundabout it also tells you there is a roundabout coming, when your following signs it shows some Independence, which like you say is normal driving. They introduced it to help the examiners asses if you are really ready for real world driving. Hope you liked the video
