    I'm new to the flashlight world. This is an excellent explanation of these lights. Thanks!

    Great explanation of the differences. I bought an i5t just before the release of the i5r, I’m now running the 5r battery in it with no issues so far , find the performance greatly improved as the torch will maintain its full output for a lot longer, have to re select it after the ramp down. But possibly more interesting is I’m also running two i5r batteries in my i5tplus with similar results, no increase in output but after two hours plus of continuous use I can still access the full brightness with a double click after ramp down.

      Using rechargeable eneloops in in i5t plus will give you exactly the same performance an will be a bit safer for the light. Just saying

    The i3e is one of the best little flashlights ever made. It's just so handy to have around. Sometimes simplicity goes a long way with a flashlight. And I bet it's probably the most sold flashlight in the world. I'm looking forward to the new neon green color. 😎👍

    2 things I would add. The 13T with 10440 batteries is my 2nd favorite light of this type Olight makes. Admittedly they are out of production but the M1T Raider Plus is the best Olight as far as I'm concerned, including their great baton and warrior series lights. They were sold with 2 CR123 batteries but I like using the 16650s. The slightly larger brother of the I5T with high/low/strobe instead of the low/high.

    NO idea why anyone would leave alkalines in their lights, you're just asking for a leak. Put a low self-discharge cell in there. Olight making a 14500 light then making it act weird when you use a normal button cell 14500 is the olight'est thing ever.

  • @Tony-sy7ed
    @Tony-sy7ed ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Not sure if you’ve ever handled the Olight M1T Raider plus. That was a great light and I don’t know why it’s not offered anymore. It had the same spiral knurl design as the i5T/i3T. Little longer than the i5T much shorter than the i5T plus, really nice feel in the hand. The i5T doesn’t quite clear the end of my hand and I end up covering a lot of the spill when I turn it on. The M1T is a 2 cell 123A light, I run mine with a single 16650 and it works great. Much warmer light than what olight typically offered in the past, at 800 lumens. As for tiny keychain lights, I’m not a fan of twisting the head. If I could nestle the body of the light in my palm and easily twist back and forth to activate that’s different. The i3E is too small, for me, to comfortably turn on 1 handed. I clip my keys to my belt loop. Because the head of the i3E is removable I ended up just losing the head, no idea where it went. I like the nitecore tiki for a tiny keychain light. Has a button pad, high CRI, lantern mode, moonlight mode.

      I do wish that Olight has moonlight, but a lot of people feel moonlight is just an extra mode to click through.

    • @geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz
      @geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cheule The Pokelit really annoys me very greatly for exactly that reason but I do like the Rider Rx. The Pokelit has a low moonlight and no low mode while the Rider does have a low mode but also a brighter moonlight mode which makes absolutely insane nonsense!!! Given that the Pokelit has zero low mode, why then make the moonlight mode even lower than that in the Rider? It just leaves to big a gap in the modes on the Pokelit and the brighter moonlight mode on the Rider I find much more realistically useful. It seemed to me that Acebeam hobbled the Pokelit to keep the Rider more expensive and desirable. Mid and high mode on Pokelit are fine but I do prefer the Rider with it's simple sensible power levels.

      The i5T plus is designed for 3v (two AA in series). If you put two i5R batteries in it, it would be running 4.8v which sounds like a issue. I have not tested if it will dry the driver, and I don’t plan to :) maybe someone else is willing to live dangerously!

    VOTE FOR OR AGAINST: I would like to see the i5tPlus head on the i5r/t body giving the 550lumens output using the 2.4v lithium battery as after all the Plus can run on 2xnimh which is 2.4v. It seems so obvious a thing to do to me. Be great to see some-one try that mod if Olight won't produce it. The runtime would be reduced over the standard i5r but should still be ok and the low mode would be unchanged & you could have the 3 different colour temp options and call it the i5rM for mod or i5r+. I think it would be a good option for those like me that find the i5r/t a bit lacking in output but still like the shorter body. I have the neutral while i5tplus and I like the beam tone of that one a lot as it is very similar but a bit more vibrant than my i5r 90CRI. So lets have a vote. Upvote if you would be interested in Olight putting that out or downvote if not? Enough positive votes and maybe they will?

      @@aaronsmith56001 great thing is they introduce people to decent lights. Then they find things like wurkkos or Sofirn.
      The price? Yeah but ohh well. Not like it's disposable. Mine has been running for years and has been battered but still going strong so paid for itself.
      Each to there own but saying they have no worth, that's just plain wrong.

    • @Tony-sy7ed
      @Tony-sy7ed ปีที่แล้ว

      I asked Olight a few years ago if they could come out with an adapter that was MCC receiver to usbc or lightning. Something with a flexible ribbon cable and double sided tape that would wrap to the back of a phone and you could use the MCC Olight charger to charge your phone. Or even come out with a phone case that had the cable management built in and the case would plug into your phones charge port so you could carry less cables and then olights magnetic cable wouldn’t be as proprietary. So they ended up coming out with the magnetic head that fit onto a usbc cable. 🤷🏻‍♂️
