I do completely see your point. It is a really easy way to "get good guy points" to bring it up and thus gaining the "right to judge". Like you said, there are shitty people who are sober too. There are shitty people who aren't sober and there are shitty people who are shitty only when they are under the influence. Reading the quote is also much different than hearing the statement. There is something that I have found over the years....the biggest critics for any addiction....whether it be Drink, Drugs, Smoking hell even over eaters....is ex-addicts. Not every ex-addict is like this but you do normally hear things like " Oh why do you still do *Insert drug here*?, I used to and now I'm clean, you should be too" That is sort of how this response from Dryden came across to me.

Which honestly seems like an upgrade, they have almost as many monthly spotify listeners as Alien Ant Farm while CKY has an order of magnitude! less plays. Still, "no refund" seems really odd/not sustainable (and a bit of an ***hat move) given that they choose to give CKY co-headline status on the official lineup. I guess whether that matters depends on how strong consumer protection laws Australia has in this respect - I suspect there's a good chance they'd not get away with that in at least some European countries if sued (or the consumer advocate takes it on). Yes, the fixed playorder in Europe suggests a greater status for AAF but their own communication seems to have at least some of the time given them co-equal status.

CKY was done for me with their previous drama, when the main man Deron Miller left and made a new band called 96 Bitter Beings. And when he took his talent with him it's easy to say which band still rocks.

As a black guy that djs hiphop music and house music, I rarely paid attention to rock or metal, but Alien Ant Farm and Smooth Criminal was so different that I actually gave them a chance and to this day, I still have These Days by them on my playlist. When I listen to stuff outside my genre at home, that song still gets play

I haven't liked Dryden for years based on older behavior, but I do believe (at least parts) of what he says as that's the only logical explanation for a band being booted from the tour. We'll likely never know the whole story but my take is that I feel Chad was probably just being a douche to everyone and it reached a boiling point. Dryden was probably a douche to Chad about the situation (even if you're in the right, you can go about it wrong) and it led to dumb shit happening. Ugh. I think the altercation included members of D12, and stemmed from a scheduling conflict and Shady getting mouthy with the AAF bassist. Punches were exchanged, guns were rumored to be flashed, and AAF jumped the warped tour before they played.
For those that don’t know the history of CKY, Chad is not a real lead singer. DERON MILLER is the real lead singer. Deron wrote every single song up until he left. Chad made himself the singer and sings DERON’S songs every show and sings them badly. CKY is a poor cover band these days. Deron had his issues too, but he was %99 of what made CKY a killer band.

traveling with anyone for longer than a week is exhausting and mentaly tolling on all parties. I can't remember if i have been on holidays without a tension and usually amongst family members or very close friends. They are 2 different bands, not close friends I assume and they are touring for months.
It's easy to forget that we trivialise these things because they're about rock bands, where there are tons of similar stories. But in any other professional workplace setting this would be considered assault and would lead to people being charged and fired. It's 100% the correct response to kick them off the tour.

The first few AAF albums were awesome, it sucks they really weren't bigger than they were, but still a fan today.

This is just classic CKY. They kicked All American Rejects of their own tour back in the day for supposedly drinking their beer. You can't tell but I'm doing that jerk off gesture. A few months later CKY were still touring clubs and AAR are inescapable in the mainstream. Probably the height of their limited success.
For the longest time, I honestly thought CKY was a clothing brand. Like DKNY or Calvin Klein.

I’ve heard the lead singer of CKY is pretty hard to deal with. I watched a documentary on them and a lot of it was about how the singer is tough to be around. However, I have only that to base my opinion off of.

My boys in InMe were one of the bands to replace CKY in the UK. They've a bunch of good lads and never had any issues with AAF. It's a very weird situation.
I thought AAFs singer was nearly killed in a van crash and unable to perform…so this is all very very surprising
The band was in a crash in 2002 and the lead singer broke his neck so he can't really turn his head anymore but they were back on stage that same year and have played many shows since.
