Batman and Robin are a dynamic duo, but after years of endangering his famous child sidekick through a life of fighting crime, Batman is forced to confront if he should even be allowed to keep Robin at all by Gotham's favorite one faced district attorney, Harvey Dent.

5:47 Stephanie Brown didn't die during her brief time as Robin in the pre-crisis timeline, she was severely injured.
This is why batman said the line "weve always been criminals alfred". Unlike superman who came to the court when he was summoned, batman does not operate under the law. Hes a criminal. Superman consider himself as just a good samaritan. Hes just there to help. Batman consider himself as a necessary evil doing all he can to stop crime. Even endangering a child.

GCN can now confirm that since loosing Robin in court he has found a completely new and definitely adult sidekick known as Nightwing. Robins whereabouts are currently unknown after never making it to the orphanage, but I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying our hearts and prayers are with him.

Earlier in the case with the establishment of the Robin suit being based on this Robin's "favourite circus act" that clearly implies this was the first RObin, due to the connection with the Grayson's. So none of those deaths should have happened yet, as Batman had no Robin's before this one.

I love how no one gives a Rattata's ass about secret identities in this court room. Also chronology seems to be thrown out the window too. Batman is Bruce Wayne. Robin is Dick Grayson, would've been more interesting if he was in the Nightwing costume. So there's something to consider.

In real life, Batman himself would be an illegal vigilante: a guy with no legal or law enforcement experience that’s known to torture suspects, a guy that could easily injure or kill an innocent bystander and a guy that’s secretly traumatized and mentally unstable as a result!

Technical Jason wasn't Robin when he died
Mistrial: Which Robin are we filling for seperation? You can't specify which one you're getting rid of and the evidence against the other Robins is prejudicial. Also, you can't sue a vigilante without his mask off.
Don't get me started on jason fucking Todd, the artists pretty much held him back with the way the made him into Robin, the BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO HIM WAS PRETTY MUCH HIM DYING, MAKING HIM INTO ONE OF THE BEST FIGHTERS/BEST TACTIANS IN DC HISTORY.

you know after watching this i now understood why red hood hates batman so much red hood when he was still a robin would have literally sacrificed himself if it meant saving batman but when the joker not only beat him with a crowbar to near death and exploded the building they were in almost killing him you would think batman would get revenge on the joker by killing him before he learned that red hood survived but he didn't and still let him live despite the fact he basically killed his child so it makes sense that red hood would be the opposite of batman and use guns and kill villains without mercy unlike batman

Wait a minute... if this Robin is Dick Grayson, then wouldn't he have been Nightwing and an adult when Jason Todd, Stephanie Brown, and Damien Wayne were all Robins and died? Why didn't they use Tim Drake? Then they could have used Dick as an abandoned child angle and still used the Jason death in correct continuity. Still funny, but this only took me 30 seconds to figure out. Plus, the Harvey Dent becoming Twoface thing would also have made somewhat more sense.

@@christianschoff2490 The clone is not a Robin. Talia didn't like her son was not on her side so made a clone to kill him. He died and eventually came back, most and not all deaths in comics are not permanent, though as of right now his fate is undermined as after coming back he ultimately fell though the hole of castle.

The real defense that Batman should use is the simple fact that all those kids would have turned into vigilantes anyway, the only difference is he turned them into competent vigilantes that can take care of themselves. Dick Grayson was going after the killers of his family one way or another, you'd have needed to lock him up to prevent him and even then, good luck keeping him in there. Jason Todd would have turned into an angry remorseless killer without Batman (which, you know, is kind of what happened). Tim Drake was such a fanboy that he'd have tried to replicate the first Robin no matter what. Damian was trained to be an assassin by his mother. What's better, teaching him to save people or letting him be a child assassin?
As for Stephanie Brown, there's no real excuse but I don't consider that version of Batman canon anyway.

Honestly, an argument could be made that it’s Gotham city’s fault for all this. Sure, Robin is in danger of being held captive and killed by criminals, but so is every child in Gotham. The government of Gotham never really dealing with the villains for good, opting to put them in a neglected, mentally unstable place that only furthers their messed up nature. And they break out time and time again, so there’s something to be said about how the government of Gotham and how they put the lives of everyone, including kids, in Gotham at risk. Robin is in no more danger than the rest of kids in Gotham, in fact he might be more well equipped to handle the criminals in Gotham because of Batman. So the government can be blamed for a lot of this happening, and that vigilantes wouldn’t even exist without Gotham city being so neglectful of the crimes in Gotham. This argument could most definitely be worked around as Batman is still putting a child at risk obviously, but I think that argument could of been, at least, a more compelling one than Batman’s
I do think that's what the skit maybe going for in the end. That it's really Gotham's fault that all of that is happening in the first place. The city council should've made more effort to prevent them from happening like putting up legit help centers and funding to help those in need along with giving villains who do want to change for the better a chance to do so. Something that Batman did do from time to time in TAS.
Plus, isn't the foster system extremely hard on kids even in the best of circumstances? I'd imagine that Gotham's would be a hell of a lot worse. Probably not enough homes or overworked social workers. Which is why so many kids end up on the streets?
What separates Robin from other kids in Gotham are his Ninja Kung Fu Fighting skills, Genius High Intellect, a belt full of tools, grappling gun, somewhat bullet resistant suit and Detective Skills.
This dude is better equipped than most kids, but the fact that he constantly faces villains in his daily life makes me surprise that he is still alive... the murder rate in Gotham is ridiculously high.
Batman should have used this argument in his defense!
If anything, Batman is teaching kids to defend themselves in a hostile environment that is the whole goddamn city.

@@DarthLolly Agreed. I thought of Tim as well because of his eloquent speech to the Judge. Dick would have been as good on the stand, but Tim was more of the heir to the greatest detective when it comes to the analytical side of the costume.
