@@mlguy8376 no its not an olympic sport (thank goodness). The first commenter said judo is more enjoyable to watch, but that's ridiculous because in the judo olympics hardly anyone was fighting, they were all stalling and trying to get the opponent disqualified by shidos (fouls), hardly any throws and when there were "it doesn't count". Really boring and lame, but who am I to judge what people find interesting?
The Judo _was_ enjoyable, but I have to say I enjoyed the higher rank BJJ guys getting the armbar, sweeps and triangle, too (may have been more, those were what I processed enough to still remember).
They would do the same to black belts in bjj. There’s videos on TH-cam + experienced it myself. The amount of mat time a good judo player has on their feet is about the same massive gap of difference a bjj guy has on the ground. If you train 2 hours on the feet a week and 7 on the ground the guy who does almost all standing rounds is going to mop you up . Why is this shocking ?
Well you have to understand the history, bjj people made a transition from the origin , aikijutsu or hapkido, to focus on something different, and made a choice, same as the judo people,
Why in any BJJ club I went to, people just can’t properly tie their belts. As a judoka it bothers me. I mean even black belt professors can’t tie their belts. Once I saw a happy professor who managed to make diamond knot but his belt was crossed at the back and one of the edges was sticking from the wrong side. I think he even posted a tutorial on TH-cam how to tie a belt 😂
I think there's some kind of advantage if your belt falls off during a roll, so a lot of BJJ guys will tie their belt in a way that will facilitate it falling off easier in competition
@@CaptChilly Kinda correct - when you are stood up for one reason or another, you have 15-20s in competition to tie your belt, which is valuable resting/breathing time. That's why a lot of them loose the belts a little.
@@androthsatyr Ohhhh that makes sense. I train BJJ and heard about the loose belts thing but never knew why. I always just assumed it was because you had one less thing they could grip.
Even tied correctly, belt comes off 30 times during rolls so it isn't worth learning for some dudes(I like the way a good knot looks so I tie mine correctly) and in a comp I def don't care if its tied right . Also, we aren't a traditional martial art so who cares?
@@JwowDickensExactly. Modern judo is broken. Too many dumb rules. A bjj blue belt will absolutely destroy a judo black belt once the fight reaches the ground.
As a judo guy that trains bjj , I agree. Shoot solid doubles and singles and they don’t know what to do especially if they don’t cross train and started judo after the leg grab ban.
@@SVjudo I'm not putting down judo. I do both bjj and judo. Most throws are not high impact enough to knock me out. I think you are overestimating the power of judo.
Bro the MOMENT I see someone in a Mizuno gi, I am pulling guard. And I never pull guard. 💀
Haha i thought the same , i saw his gi and thought it was a bjj blue gi but the mizuno logo gave me a shock haha😁🥋
I'll admit it. Judo is far more enjoyable to watch than bjj
my friend did not watch the olympics I see
@@kingartifexwas bjj there? Maybe I missed it. Also Judo which was there, had plenty of nice techniques on show.

Plus the white belt who caught the gi choke 😁
It's great to see Judokas doing a cross over to BJJ, I really need to add more judo to my game. Might have to take a few classes
I think that both disciplines have been seperated over time. I'm just trying to bridge the gap! Feel free to come thru!
I'm a blue belt in BJJ and a orange belt in judo my go to throws o goshi and osoto gari
This was cool, thank you to everyone 🙏
That purple belt has some slick transitions.
The moment u see someone fighting for best grip on lapel or gi in stand up.. you know.. 😂
Forgot the part where I left before realizing it was a prank and got pissed off cause I thought he was just lying to me 😂
Uncle Larry is a Brown Belt in Judo and also 120kg, 185cm Blue Belt in BJJ, I should say.
A Judo black belt tooling on white belts?

Kesa gatame , apparently, is a great follow up on the bjj guys
Nice work .
Thanks 👍
Larry is like a 50 year old oak tree with deep roots, who can then decide to throw you.
BIG FACTS
Great content
YOOOO i go to open mats at 4 11
Cool video, not gonna lie i skipped through all the ground stuff to get to the cool takedowns. Bjj has alot to learn about throws and grip fighting
true, but judo has to learn that the fight doesn't end after one ashi barai to the floor and baiting shidos doesn't work in bjj
Some throws can end a fight

Aikijujutsu and Hapkido? Are you sure?
that harai goshi by larry was sweet!
Can't wait to get you on the channel again fam!

Now try w/o the gi.
Now I’d like to see you do this at No gi☝🏾
Lets see sambo wrestlers and freestyle wrestlers in bjj
If I can find any I will!
We all know what happens, you fail your throw and give your back and you die simple
Until someone gets launched😂😂
Try it sometime I promise you get thrown or sit down like a girl

Idk bjj guys without any judo or wrestling are kinda wimps
No ref to stop the fight and stand you back up 😂
No need to stand back up when you get thrown so hard you can’t breathe 🤷🏼♂️
