I suspect Kanami did hear him mention he was forced into this, since he was undoubtedly the loudest. But I think it's the fact he was not trying to immediately get into her pants is what drew her attention. If any of the other guys had asked to take her home, she would have shot them down instead. Then, when he saved her from that Douchebag, she knew he was a keeper, as he's someone who would protect her. I hope then end up happy together.

What’s scary is that there are guys that force themselves into girls. That’s why rules against guys is so severe. I’m not saying girls can’t be bad, but most are attacked because how physically strong guys are. Always stay safe.
Story Idea:
An adult woman (FMC) receives a wedding invitation from her childhood friend and her first love(MMC) who she hasn’t heard from since high school. The reason why they cut contact was that she was a tsundere that teased yet loved him, but he finally had enough and stopped talking to her. She tried to talk to him but he always ignored her like she didn’t exist. He then left to a university far from her and now she learns that he’s getting married. After the wedding, she goes home heartbroken that because of her attitude she lost her first love. When she falls asleep she wakes up back in her high school days, before he cut contact with her. Taking an advantage of this event she vows to change her attitude to become a better person and to not lose her first love again.

@@Ron-xv4cq oh, well after she wakes up she now realizes she back when she was in high school with her first love. The moment she sees him she hugs happy to be with him again before he cut her off. Taking this opportunity, she begins to become nice to him and show her true feelings instead of the tsundere personality she had. The MMC becomes confused at her switch of attitude but at least glad that she became the nice friend he knew. Months of spending time together, she finally confesses her feelings to him and they now become a couple. Years later it was now a wedding. Their wedding, now happy that she fixed the mistake she made and living happily with the love her life. Along with a new member of their family.😉

Well, if he had four of a kind then his hand wouldn't be weak. If a four of a kind couldn't get him to even 3rd of four players, then the other players had such strong hands that four of a kind wasn't strong enough.
Would be more like, 'Their hands were so strong that even four of a kind would lose.' Which would be impressive, since that would mean everyone else had straight or royal flush.
They really don't know how to play poker if they couldn't play to lose. The winner would either get insanely lucky (unlucky when trying to lose), or probably not have better than three of a kind... and even three of a kind would be unlikely. I've played 6 man 'play to lose' poker... and it was usually 3-4 players comparing high card. Play to lose is fairly easy, especially if you get a single deuce in hand. Breaking a good hand is easier than making a good hand.
The funniest was when a guy was dealt four of a kind, so he ditched three... and his draw gave him royal flush. Insanely lucky, except in a play to lose game.

But then, maybe they played like us... getting points based on how we did in each hand. Lose a hand, get zero points. Second lowest hand gets two points, so on to the winner getting 6 points. (We had 6.) Play multiple hands, and after a set number of rounds, lowest score wins.
In that case, '... even winning the final hand with four of a kind couldn't save me.' That is how it would make sense. But, how long did they spend in the cafe, playing poker? How not busy is the cafe that they wouldn't ask them to leave if they aren't buying anything more?
Still, when you know the other players are playing to lose, and you want to win... it isn't that hard... because a pair should be enough to beat someone. Of four players, someone should be able to achieve a 'high card hand'.

Eventually, Waruzashi was expelled, and he had no parents to support him, so he tried to join the Yakuza, but his womanizing ways followed him and he eventually crossed the wrong Yakuza higher up and he died, forgotten, alone, unremembered, unloved, and also incapable of love, in an alley, one year after those eight other people, as well as Ryuto and Kanami, had graduated from their high school. Meanwhile, Kanami learned to be less controlling and less manipulative, and especially after they married five years later after graduating from high school and starting a multi-million American dollar business, which grew to be a multi-billion American dollar business, and eventual mega-conglomerate, by the time that they were thirty years old. Naturally, their old friends also began to work for them as well, so they often meet and catch up on old times, as well as have the occasional video game, anime, sports watching, board game, and card game night, and they also order out food as well and have these sessions at a special room that they made for such things. Kanami learned to love being the LG in the DD/LG relationship and she now only craves the love of Ryuko, as well as him protecting their family.
