So let me get this straight. The assasins surprised the boss. Then the guard surprises the assasins and then the assasins boss surprises the boss’s guard. Then they tie him up to hang out of a window by a rope that they immiedietly cut. Don’t you think that’ll be hard to sell to a studio? No. It’s the 90’s. Super easy. Barely an inconvenience.
You forgot the part where the one guy throws a knife with such speed, force and accuracy that it penetrates a newspaper and vest and instantly kills the victim. And the guy who keeps screaming after he's been shot something like 18 times at close range and then gets shot 32 more times, for good measure I guess.
He didn't lowball himself getting 500k but he did fuck himself by negotiating too long, enough for Lucky to bust in and kill him before he killed the other 3.
If he had shot them and not negotiated a price, he would have been more paying attention to the door and might ahve shot the Christian Slater Character.
@@Willie-go6dc Yep! And it wasn't a knife. But the really funny part was how he was instantly dead. Not like he had to bleed out or anything 😂 But that loooong burst from the Thompson makes me wonder about the movie industry... this scene, Santino Corleone on the causeway, and ESPECIALLY the window scene in Miller's Crossing..... just how many rounds of .45ACP does it take to grease one little mobster? 😂😂
The mob boss Salvatore 'The Boss of Bosses' Maranzano was killed as was Vincent 'Mad Dog' Coll. But Maranzano was stabbed, shot and strangled in his own office. Coll was viciously gunned down later on in a hotel phone booth.
That openbolt dream machine. It's crazy how much technology came ahead around the turn of the century. Semi automatics, and full automatics were invented around the same time. Cars and planes not too far ahead of the gun tech.
Well, it depends on how you look at it. While a lot of it is historically correct, they added a lot of entertainment value and some unintentional comedy to draw large audiences. For instance, look at the lead characters. All teen heartthrobs at the time. The real Luciano, Lansky, Siegal, etc. were nowhere NEAR that handsome or personable. Audiences at the time did give it a "B" overall.
Lol there's 3 groups or individuals bursting into Ferenzano's office one after the other. This is the most slapstick and overacted movie since Blood in Blood out.
I knew I was watching a shit film when I first saw this ages ago when I realised my favourite character was Mad Dog Coll. When the person I root for is supposed to be someone I hate, I know I'm not on the same wavelength as the casting director/writer.
I don’t get why everyone doesn’t like this movie. This movie was actually pretty good. I liked it. However its a bit similar to Once Upon A Time In America

But I get you 😂

1:39 to 1:53 is hilarious!😅
Mad Dog Coll was one of the wildest assassins in this movie. That was the best and only way for him to get merked.
1:15 To this day I've been using this line when negotiating with friends.
Been using since this came out on Laser Disc.
Damn, the IRS was pretty brutal back in the days.

Funnily enough that would easily be a mortal wound irl and goddamn I would be pissed if that happened.

Luciano: “well then I won’t remember doing this” *cuts rope*

Great minds think alike.
The whole scene is hilarious. It's like unintentional comedy.
Right shit is corny they don't look or act gangsta I didn't feel it ya know 😂👌💯
@@rockfresh1993 The way Coll is screaming "HAAAAAA" even though Luciano already shot him enough to kill him five times had me in tears too.
Should have let Scorsese direct ittt....Luciano deserves a real movie....Not unintentional comedy....
@@MosDefnIT88 I agree

Really?! Why does he sound so surprised? This guy is Sicilian! Does he not know what a vendetta is?!

reminds me of the woodchuck scene from Easy A lmap
In reality, Charlie Luciano never killed Vincent Coll. It was Fabrizzio and Scarnici who iced Vincent. Charlie never got his hands dirty with him.

Well, at least he saved by not paying the 500 grand. lol
I know Sure he would of just died when he had to fork out that much...🤔
best mob movie ever!!!
Ths guy portraying coll was sensational, revolutionary , watch and learn!1
I'm here because I've just learned that Michael Gambon played Salvatore Maranzano in a movie, and I had to see it for myself.
It's not the fall that kills you.
It's the sudden stop at the bottom

Its a nice movie, love that moment
The opening scene here exemplifies what Juan Tuco Ramirez was famous for having said.....If You're going to Shoot... Shoot, Don't Talk !!! 😮

This movie is idiotic from start to finish.
Did the Italians even hire Irish hitmen to have plausible deniability or something?
@@bjornervig3795 yes

Beyond
A moltisanti production classic, Batman meets the godfather meets Kill bill.
This movie was a cartoon. But at least it was kind of a FUN cartoon.
Don Faranzano wasn't a good gangster boss, he didn't live in the Penthouse suite, that's where Don Gorgonzola lived
1:35 I felt bad for the people who were shot on the floor below
Didn't remember how bad the acting was when I first saw this but holy cow, watching it again is almost cringe.

Don Salvatore Maranzano or Faranzano?
They changed the name for legal issues so wouldn’t get sued.

Like Tuco said: When you gotta shoot, shoot don't talk. Or you get the Sonny Corleone weight gain diet.
poor kid, i hear he was suffering from elephantiasis.
The only part that I really like in this movie. Is when Mad Dog Coll gets shot by Lucky Luciano
GeorgianMoBster When you kill someone like that, what you are ultimately saying is, “I really, really, really don’t like you.”
So this mad dog really kill luciano girlfriend or was it just in the movie
Lol this guy Ferrazzano is supposed to be Maranzano?
Lol I bet nobody knows that the guy that got stab is the one who made maniac cop
That would be the late William Lustig. Robert Zdar who got stabbed WAS the Maniac Cop char though.
...and then Farranzano was reincarnated as a skin ravaged mystery writer in London whose signature book was called...The Singing Detective.
''Jesus Christ, i ll pay my taxes, ok?''

i guess to hell with historical accuracy, this is entertainment!!
Wtf did I just watch?
Shoulda had Nucky Thompson show up and say "Mmmmmmmmm boy are you fat"
Who the hell throws a knife
Well, ..Faranzano(wink wink) was actually stabbed to death in reality. Of course this movie and Reality got divorced early on in their marriage.
Slater always been so handsome. And so was Grier and Costas them. Now Dempsey is the only good looking one......
It would have been more humane to throw Maranzano out the window than what they actually did to him in real life.
His name was Maranzano not Farranzano.
did you notice no one even looked up they truly did not want to see anything back in those days lol
