I'm interested in this game because I think that Minecraft has not lived up to its potential. Compare terraria's development to Minecraft's, it's night and day. There's so many good ideas that modders have made for Minecraft that Mojang haven't even considered and instead they add a fox. It's depressing. Yes you can mod your game that's great but Minecraft needs a total reinvention to make those mod features feel natural and function properly.
Yeah we need a dev team in a survival game that finally works with the modding community rather than against them, it really cant get simpler.
It is so cool to see people are still hanging on to this project. I am so excited for the next update.
I really hope we can make custom races for roleplay based servers, maybe even make custom character creation menus

I just wanted to say thank you to all for the good times on the discord during r/place. Man I love this community
and there you go, it started.
Hytale has joined my list of games where I'm super excited for them but they're just gonna come out when they're good and ready. Currently it sits alongside the likes of silksong, in the distant ish future Terraria 2, and Elder scrolls 6. And some like metroid dread and totk have come out and as expected they're truly epic and have shaped what their genres will look like for year's to come. So to those anxiously waiting, chill it's going to come out when it happens to, buy it when it does, trust me there's no way you'll miss Hytales launch

It's crazy to think that tears of the kingdom released before hytale
My hype may have lowered but I really do hope this is a Minecraft "killer". Not the core game to be exact but I hope it looks pretty without custom shaders, better optimisations and better mod support then what Minecraft has given. I hope all of my favorite mods can be ported with ease and don't get killed by every little bug fix.
This has been the main reason I want this game to come out, mod support is a must have to have a big creative community and the freedom to have those little tweaks you like so much.
My fear is having this game free to play and then being blocked from mods and offline play. If this game does go free to play they better have a hytale+ or gold or prime or whatever they want to call it, just let me have mods and offline mode.
I can't wait to see if Create, enderIO, or Immersive Engineering ever show up to hytale. That would truly be awesome. But first I hope the game comes out before I die. I played alpha Minecraft, let me play your unfinished game Riot!😂

For a game that's supposed to be a platform for the community, it ain't really letting the community in.
it can be looked at that way I guess, but the alternative is they chose to give the community something much greater than originally thanks to the community giving much feedback and hype.

Think about it, everything they show just increases expectations and also can both make ppl happy and upset, it's best those features are reserved.
People don't even realize the RGB texture tints feature was shown 4 years ago, I bet they still don't.. it's not worths showing the same things over and over.
There's 40 blog posts to read over to get some ideas about the game, I don't see the reason of more until the game is coming.
I do hope that one of the intruments is the bagpipes so i can role play as the Scottmans from samurai Jack :D

it will flop sadly. The issue here being it will never meet the hype that it had generated back when the trailer first dropped. Aka the time it took wont match the quality of the product and people will try it and go "this is it? this is what we waited for?" And then move on to the better games like nightengale which will be out before then. They never should have redone the game just to make it multi platform. They took way too long. Its a giant meme at this point.
@@TalonWrenI honestly think otherwise, the hype that first went up after the trailer drop in 2018 has toned down because of the long developement time and how the team purposely tried to kill the hype, and it seems they've succeded, I still hyped for this game but it wasn't as the same as it in 2018-2019, I feel like a lot of us who waiting for this game felt the same way.
Very well said. What a dumb choice, if they were close to a product only to scrap it just to add console and mobile support, add that shit later. It already has taken 10 years.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate - whether Hytale ever sees the light of day or not - how spectacularly Minecraft dropped the ball. The things that grab most people about Hytale? Are features and details that easily could have been introduced to Minecraft.
Hell, just look at what No Man's Sky has been doing.
It's actually frustrating. When I bought into Minecraft back during its beta period, I thought "Wow, this has real promise. The sky's the limit!"
More than a decade on, and I find myself realising - not quite the sky, no. The hill's the limit, apparently. It's quite a nice hill, but it's not even a mountain.
Yeah the base game is a joke and they practically killed their own modding community, at least we have the silver lining of knowing what Not to do.
Following Hytale development over the years has been so weird. Like, it's a game I've known about and have been super excited for for so long, but it's also a game that's so weird to talk about with friends cause to them it's just another unreleased indie project that probably won't even see the light of day for the next few years. I don't blame them for not being excited or interested in the project, but it really makes me want the game to be released soon so I can actually share it with them.
I wouldn't call Hytale a Indie Project anymore lol
this game has come so far, back in 2019 i was kinda bummed that the game was getting delayed, but even just seeing this game growing and becoming better and better is honestly really cool

Tbh, during these times i'm just waiting for the official release date or early alpha to play the game, i don't doubt the game will be as pollished as any ever, but i can't be hyped for so long.

If they keep delaying things it wouldn't get that much players on the release. Especially look at minecraft, it's slowly dying. Idk if it's gonna release at 2024. They're probably gonna say delayed to 2025. It's losing hype as well. Idk what direction they're going for but it's their choice. I hope it won't delay, so it would atleast have good amount of players.

I hope it has stuff that Mojang refuses to add to Minecraft like vertical slabs, alligators, fireflies and all that. Because Mojang has the most idiotic excuses to why they won't add stuff. I know frogs can die if they eat fireflies but they made parrots if you give them a cookie.

kinda wish Hytale was a open world where everyone was in one universe or one server like eve online. It would of had great story telling and would immerse you even more into the game but its probably unlikely

5:00 yes, custom engines need to be more common. most games that use unreal engine or unity are only really using about 5% of the power the engine can actually provide so its best to make an engine that supports only what you need and then you don't need to pay royalities

@@TalonWren Ok dude, just stop already. You don't know Jack sticks about game hype and development and there certainly won't be better games releasing before hytale does. Realistically Nightingale is not going to outcompete Hytale given that the games are so different and that Hytale is backed by RIOT games.

I swear to everything that i believe in that when this game drops im gonna be a magician that slings fireballs, magical spells and taking it really slow since i have the tendency to really rush a game at launch (i have no idea why i do this and see it as a toxic trait for myself)

I hope with the instruments in this game you would be able to connect your synth (electric keyboard) if you have one and play in-game just like how you are able to connect your synth in Rust to play a instrument (mainly piano). I hope they add a piano to Hytale.

There's more than enough space in a genre for more than one game. Besides, calling Hytale a Minecraft copy is a bit of a stretch considering the only thing they have in common is a sandbox world with a block based building system. Which is kind of like saying Starcraft 2 is a copy of Age of Empires.
@@theblackspark2644 This happens with basically every new creative idea, the same thing happened with doom too. For over 10 years they were called Doom clones, Why? Because Doom was the first really big FPS game.
Even AI says it’s not a clone, but hey I’m not one to speak on how others think ;)

What good is a game if you can't run it? In all seriousness they have said in the past that they're optimizing the game so it can run on lower end PCs.

The game was back then running on Java
Hytale has built a brand new game engine (again of their own) and it’s now on C++ for cross platform capabilities and even more optimization and mod possibilities as they’ve also mentioned.
So spec requirements are likely even lower, but they were fairly good 4 years ago by the sounds of it.

Although outdated, I suggest reading all 40+ blog post, and finding sources of them talking on twitter, discord, and reddit to get the majority of information floating around the game :)

Question #1: Can worlds be played with friends that aren't on the same internet for free? And play on worlds together? Because i believe servers are similar to that and i doubt they'll be free to set up.
#2: Will uou be able to create an account and then play on the same world on Pc and later log on and continue progress on the same world on Mobile?
#1 - I wouldn see how that isnt built in after Minecraft Bedrock already uses such a system, propably linked to your riot accound or something
#2 - although we dont know if that will be the case, you could always just set up a private server with your world, allowing you to play on any device connected to the internet, or even just download the world file back and fort
I can't imagine the first not being a thing, minecraft has it, terraria has it, valheim has it, being able to host a server from your own PC is a thing in so many games i can't imagine Hytale not having, especially since the team came from a community of modders.
For the 2nd question, yes, but you'll likely again have to setup a server for that to work, as even though you're on the same account the world file will be saved on your pc, hence you'd need to host a server to be able to join it on mobile

even if this would take 10 years it would still get there faster then minecraft, they could have started the same way just have a bunch of alpha and beta and slowly build it over the years, but they wanna dump a massive completed chuck of a game instead of get out something broken then patch it up over 5 years.(looking at you fallout 76)
Every-time I hit play on one of these videos I'm holding my breath for some actual concrete news on the progress of the game, yet it always basically boils down to... Wait and see! I'd be willing to bet money that this game won't be finished 10 years from now and then the devs will want to redo the engine to keep up with the times, again.
I doubt it. Hytale studios has said they're right on schedule and they've started play testing which is something you do toward the end of the development cycle.

I believe many Minecraft players are gonna come play Hytale because of how Minecraft is starting to get bored. Sure, they'll still play Minecraft, but they'll also play Hytale. that's because Hytale solves a few problems. Like how we get bored when we finish the game. Also, i think playing Hytale might be like playing Minecraft without the phantom. Sorry i brought the phantom up. I know it makes people mad. Like me. I wish Mojang would shut the fudge up about the phantom. The fact i am mad at Mojang, i wanted Hytale to win against Minecraft. Don't you kinda feel mad at Mojang too? I hope Hytale causes problems for Mojang. Even if it's not becoming more popular than Minecraft. Just taking away a major amount of its player base.
