I think it's amazing how Dweezil replicates Sugarcane's violin solo to perfection. I make an attempt at it on my Telecaster, but no way I can even come close. BTW, I was fortunate to have see Frank in concert with the Mothers way back in early 70s. Me and my eldest son have seen Dweezil and his band twice in concert, and Dweezil is able to capture most of Frank's technical skills. Great job Dweezil !
Frank Zappa's straightforward interpretation of Little Richard's R&B single "Directly From My Heart to You", featured violin and lead vocal from Don "Sugarcane" Harris. Frank's version was actually an outtake from the sessions for the Hot Rats album that appeared the following year on The Mothers' 1970 release, Weasels Ripped My Flesh. On this current version, Dweezil replicates - on guitar - Sugarcane Harris' searing violin sound to perfection. GREAT STUFF!!! Thanks for sharing!!! OXO
This is the closest he’s ever gotten to being as good as his father. This Little Richard song was One Of the ONLY Covers I’ve ever in my Life enjoyed more than the original. This doesn’t come close To his dads though. As usual
❤❤❤

Unfucking real guitar solo. I never thought it could sound as good as Sugarcane's solo.

Thank you Dweezil!
HOW SWEET IT IS
Wow! Right on!
Considering that Dweezil was doubling the violin on his guitar and the vocal mix was too low
