Thanks for this enlightened and simplified approach to Fire Risk Assessment...I'm a fire risk assessor and despite all I think I know, I've actually learnt so much from this video of yours...God bless you
I do my fire RA myself, i found using a consultant for a low risk environment was money down the drain, the best thing i did was to purchase a proper Fire log book for each site , this allowed me to record & audit EL, FD, signage, drills, maintenance & training .
I’m just about to open a small pub and have been told I need to employ an expensive contractor to come in and do an FRA but after research and watching your vid I’m doing it myself . I can literally set aside a half day of walking around with all my forms printed out and record everything I need to and save so much money. Thanks
No problem John! Remember your key focus is If there is a fire will I know about it And if there is a fire can we get out. If you ever need any support just drop us a line buddy or check out www.riskfluentltd.com
Thank you for your vidio. I am working in power plant where my reponsibality to take care of the fir systems and equipmens in the business. My quastion is, can we add the passive protecton into the list of means of esape clarified or after the compatmention?
Hi. I am just staring out as a vendor and will be going out to festivals. I sell hair accessories. I need a fire risk assessment as well as a risk assessment. I have no idea how to do this. Can I get a bit of guidance please. Thank you.
Deffo check out the HSE guidance for loads of great and free advice and guidance. It it helps we have a safety app that will help you do your risk assessments and it's pretty reasonable priced. You can find out more at www.riskassessor.net. Our advice, don't over complicate it and if you need help try to lean on the event organisers they are normally more resourced and happy to help. If you ever need more indepth support then we would be happy to help at www.riskfluentltd.com
Would you say that a holiday let is the type of place you need a professional for? I manage a few of them for my clients and as an on-call fire firefighter, I definitely know about fire but just not sure about doing them myself. I'd love to because it's impossible to get someone out to where I am in any reasonable length of time. Any thoughts?
Hi Donald, A holiday let would fall under the RRO so needs a FRA and because its the business operation it would fall under Safety at work Act as well. So you would at least need a "competent person" that manages the safety aspect of the business. If that helps. If you need any more advice or help buddy drop me an email james@riskfluentltd.com
I did not know u can carry out your own fire risk assessment? Having said that u still need a lot of information on the layout and what to fit where. My headache is i hope to open a children's soft play centre in Birmingham. The more close i am getting the more obstacles they r putting in front of me.
Yeah there is no legal requirement for a risk assessor however it should be suitable and sufficient which is key. Check out the gov.uk fire safety guides they are really good.
Are you going to do your own fire risk assessment? Do you already? let me know.....
