Hi jason! Can you tell me what is the size of the cable hdmi x hdmi that i need to use to connect the monitor to the camera sony and what cable do you recomend me ? Thanks
Thanks Jason for the video . I have a suggestion tho Which i tried and worked for me and i feel its more secure For Rs2/Rs2 / ronin s users U can remove the battery from the rs2 and put the universal adapter and power it with a v mount battery This way u are reducing the length of the ronin which heavily reduces the torque on that screw Cheers
Thanks for the review. The lonely screw that holds everything together scares me a huge looot. Screws aren't indestructible, they can break, it happened to me already. No way I am risking my RS2, one camera rig and lens, for one little screw that has to hold all that. I was looking for a Trinity style thing, I wasn't too happy with Tilta Float features so I was looking somewhere else, but I will consider this Thanos only if they make possible to lock at least with two screws... It seems good indeed, otherwise.
Here is the thing U can remove the battery from the rs2 and put the universal adapter and power it with a v mount battery This way u are reducing the length of the ronin which heavily reduces the torque on that screw
Hey man thanks again for posting another Thanos video. Really appreciate it! I’m worried about how long it takes to setup but I’m guessing if you’ve done it once, you can keep it mainly setup/balanced for each shoot if you’re using the same camera setup? Like do you just leave the rig built and bring it to set and then make some small adjustments each time you use it?
Yeah that sounds smart. Thanks for getting back to me. The C star quick release that Digital Foto now adds to the Thanos Pro X kit looks like it’d speed things up as well
I really! Appreciate this Video, you have no idea the load of information you just gave me in this Video. Now I have made up my mind to buy one, I was worried about the Arms capacity if it's can really carry 40Lbs or heavy camera like Arri cameras, but when I heard that you used Arri Amira with that vest and Arm? That was the magic 🎩 ✨ word for me, now with your recommendation hopefully when I buy it they would have implemented it. Thank you sir.
What gimbal would you recommend using for this rig - rs3 pro, or zhiyun crane 3s? It looks like the Crane 3s has long enough arms that you can actually use the fx6 with the top handle AND the battery on the back. Is the Rs3 Pro going to do me any favors here instead of the crane.?
Hi. liked your video... have you connected the crane3s to the FX6 so you can use the buttons? I tried, but it wont work.. I can see from the list that only FX9 is compatible to connect... or?
Hey Jason Just subscribed brilliant content bro!! I just got the Thanos ii on the way Im worried about payload. 12k pro ( around 6 pounds), lens (4 pounds), battery(2 pounds) gimbal (6 pounds), matte box ,wires, cage and other batteries around (4 pounds). Almost 22-24 pounds will I be okay I have project coming up and the x is very pricey also sold out for the full kit near nyc. I don’t understand how the arm has a different payload and the vest also does.I’d appreciate the input
Thank you Jason. I have a tilta float at the moment. Would it ever make sense to bring the Tilta float sled and use the Thanos Pro arm + vest? Or would it be better to use their sled and just put the Crane 3s on top?
Could you possibly do a video on this with the rs3 pro? I can’t seem to figure out how to get the javelin mode or brief case mode to flip the camera correctly like it does In this video and it’s balance on all the axis.
Great to see your video. Really interested in the system but worried that I’ll have to spend ages tinkering with it every time I want to use it for a shoot. Do you think that there’d be a way of balancing it once and then leaving most of the rig intact so you don’t have to rebalance it too much every time? Say you were using the same camera body and lens each time and then had the camera and transmitter on quick releases so you could just clip them on/off (so that they were always in the same position). Guess you’d probably want a good travel case as well to keep it protected while the rig stayed mostly setup.. Think those steps could mean you could get it up and running within 5-10 minutes each time you used it?
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.. I buy this but I need help, I have balanced everything perfectly, both the gymbal (crane 3s) and the thanos pro2, but my gymbal vibrates when I use the thanos, can you know what is happening?
Hey I was trying to buy one but digital foto want me to register I did but they not sending me the email to register also in b&h they don't have the full version and no details... I dont see anywhere to buy... do u have any recommendations?
Thanks for this great video! I have a question that I would love to solve: How do you manage that the hdmi cable from the camera to the monitor does not destabilize randomly the equipment? That is my only doubt about it, I always have that problem when it comes to gimbals.
Hi Jason, do you trust that 3/8 16 screw to hold onto the gimbal? I am terrified it will snap. I recently came across a base plate that uses the bottom and the rosette connector on the back side of the gimbal.
I use Ursa G2 with Hollyand transmitter , 2 tilta M follow focus ,v mount battery.on the zhiyun crane 3s ,When I switch from high to low position there is a jitter , the motor set to ultra . it might be too heavy.
No that’s not too heavy. I run all of that regularly Turn the motor down, for some reason turning it up all the way just wigs it out for heavier loads I usually keep mine on medium-medium high and it works for me
I understand that one screw point is tested to carry the load in any orientation but when you have gear that costs more than a brand new corolla, I'd prefer redundancy.
Hey Jason Great thanks for all informations. 1000$ question: does i need the pro x for small cameras such like Sony A7SIII ? I mean is it big difference more than payload between the pro x and pro ii ?
Really interesting to see that issue with the rig fowling on the Amira when you tilt it and how they fixed it for you. I had that same issue with my Steadicam Steadimate S and Ronin S. Are there any other issues with the Thanos Pro X and Crane 2 combo or does it feel perfect now?
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema Mad that’s good to hear. I’m intrigued by the Ready Rig and Easy Rig Stabil but this still sounds like it’d be better at removing bumps when you walk
questions ... is there a remote we can get to attach to the Steadicam gimbal to control the tilt and pan ? For the arm hand to control it like Tilta Float remote ..
does your crane vibrate pretty hard when you go very underslung for low shots? I can't seem to get around that. Apparently thats a thing with the crane 3s and they reccomend POV mode and flipping it upside down. Thoughts? I just got a thanos pro 2 with my BMPCC 6k pro and crane 3s
@@ФлагманМедиа I emailed Zhiyun Crane and they sent me a link for where I could buy the cable. One end of the cable plugs into the Zhiyun Crane and the other goes into a d tap so it can plug directly into a v lock. Then I added a Small Rig v lock holder, with a quick release, to the side of the Zhiyun Crane so it can attach easily. It adds a bit of weight to the rig but it lasts ages and can power other accessories like monitors etc. Just cheaper than buying Zhiyun Crane's power packs if you already own v locks
Wow bro seems like a lotta work, why don't you just use a lumix camera ? They have a thing called IBS hahaha. Sorry bro I just had to say it :) You know I love ya :P
The updates they’ve done to the rig make me annoyed to have bought their first version. So many little detail bits that would make it easier to use. Great video though!
@@JasonMorrisphotocinema I do. I found it has it’s place with longer lenses but a lot of the time it’s working harder, not smarter for similar results I get without it.
Do not buy the thanos pro 2, there is no way to balance the arm because there is nothing to adjust in the part where the arm connect to the vest and therefore you will never be able to have the entire system balanced. You are suppose to release the arm and it shouldnt go forwards or backwards, or left or right, but this is only possible with vest and arms that has adjusment knobs in the part the arm connects to the vest, the thanos pro 2 doesnt have it. So you will never be able to balance it. This guy must probably accepted the 20% money return that digital foto offers you if you do a video showing this equipment in a positive way even if it doesnt work. I refused that and asked them for a refund and returned and they didnt want it, I actually beg them and Lydia didnt give a damn. Dont buy this thing from then, all they want and do , is to make a sell, you are warned.
Reaaaallllly putting a lot of trust in that single 3/8 screw.
Such a detailed setup video! This will help so many people get this thing setup and working perfectly!
