      @@JasonMorrisphotocinema i feel that many people get confused on paying more $$ = more epic shots. Just have to master your tools and work with what you got. Diy trinty is hyped for most but only a few can really operate that style of shooting. I almost bought the float but after watching your video and bestboy adam i felt that theres no point in justifying anything more than $500 for the attatchments. Just work smarter and save more.

    Why did you decide to hold and control the sled by the bottom end of the rig? I have a Glidecam and when you handle the sled at any position other than near the gimbal, you risk inducing movement into the camera mount end. Touching the sled only near the center of balance allows the balance arms to do their job and absorb footsteps and vibrations. When you hold the sled near the bottom, you transfer a lot of movement from your body to the sled. Of course, the electronic gimbal will remove a lot of movement on its own, but the whole reason for using a steadicam-type of rig is to remove footsteps from your footage.

      because thats the beauty of having a setup like this, getting shots from any angle. a solid fitting gimble shouldn't matter where you control it from.

    Awesome video.
    Couple of questions, how did you find the results on the Z axis compared to gimbal alone? And does the vlock mount run power through the monopod arm or are the cables just loose?

    Hello, I'm going to buy the Thanos 2 and also the Ronin RS4 but I'm not sure whether to buy the pro or the common one. I use an a7s3 with cage and lens and it weighs around 2.5 kilos. But maybe it's better to have the project than leftovers. You who think it's better. Thank you so much. On the other hand, when you have to rotate the camera, what do you do if you don't reach the gimbal joistick?

  • @Topher0089
    @Topher0089 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How is the attachment point between the Crane 3s and the Thanos? Is it just the one bolt thread holding everything together? That's been my main concern with seeing setups like this, that's a lot of weight being leveraged at that one connection point. Have you noticed anything there? Maybe its nothing to worry about at all?

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema
      @JasonMorrisphotocinema  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the connection point seems to be solid. I personally am not worries about it as it seems to be built quite well. I definitely would assume the arri trinity is built with the best materials so it is hard to beat but for the price digitalfoto have done an exceptional job

    • @flipnap2112
      @flipnap2112 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went with a similar setup and a "budget" model (whom I dont want to advertise here). But I just wanted to say that for whichever system you go with, ANY vest setup with a gimble and the 6k PRO is a MUST.. ESPECIALLY when im using non IS lenses. made my shots usable and beautiful (gave up most handheld shots with non IS lenses-rolling shutter nightmare). and WITH IS lenses, shots look like crane shots. so glad I did it. cheaper vests can be a bit hot with all the padding though. but I originally bought it JUST to mount the camera without the gimble because I didnt you I could even break off the handle on the Rs2. once I got the power base and mounted it changed my world. Not something you'd want to fly with on a plane, but for sure out in the field its amazing.

    Do not buy the thanos pro 2, there is no way to balance the arm because there is nothing to adjust in the part where the arm connect to the vest and therefore you will never be able to have the entire system balanced. You are suppose to release the arm and it shouldnt go forwards or backwards, or left or right, but this is only possible with vest and arms that has adjusment knobs in the part the arm connects to the vest, the thanos pro 2 doesnt have it. So you will never be able to balance it. This guy must probably accepted the 20% money return that digital foto offers you if you do a video showing this equipment in a positive way even if it doesnt work. I refused that and asked them for a refund and returned and they didnt want it, I actually beg them and Lydia didnt give a damn. Dont buy this thing from then, all they want and do , is to make a sell, you are warned.
