    You're supposed to spray a light base coat wait about 20 min then spray another coat on to fill in the shallow parts and finish. You're not supposed to wait a day to spray it again. And hold the can about 8-10 inches away from whatever you're spraying

    I did the roll on enamel and mine came out great! Doing my second bathroom next. The key is in the prep!

    As for the area where your water pools up, that is typically caused by the fiberglass material that the tub is made out of sagging under pressure over time. Paint is only a mil or two thick, and won't build up like that, and even if it did, it will only follow the contour of the tub.
    In order to fix this, you need to support that section from the bottom with a piece of plywood, then get some Bondo and mix it, then smooth it out in that pooling area, let it dry, sand it smooth and level, and then paint over it.

      Oof that’s a lot of work. Thanks for the suggestion we might replace the tub all together

    I've seen others on TH-cam do this with this product and it came out great, the other guy did a lot of prep work, I think that's what I'll do as well

    My first time doing it, it came out nice. Just don’t spray to much the first coat people. For a cheap route I approve. My opinion.

    This product works. It isn't made for unskilled applications. Prep is the key.

    The roll on is the only way to go I did one with the Rustoleum producct tub & Tile it left all kind of powder residue. I had to stop clean the by product then continue but my shower is just to confined regardless of the window and fans...Need to get a new Respirator the organic cartridges are worthless need full vapor protection half shield from 3m for this stuff. Going to use the homax roll on before too many days go by seems to be close to the same product hope it works. Thanks for posting

    Also the cleaner you used is not near as aggressive as what the product gives you. You should have returned the product and got a complete package man

    Guys please don’t just wear a dust mask! Wear a actual 3M half or full mask and make sure your filters say organic vapors on your filters! If it does not say organic vapors it will not filter out vapors such as paint oil and gases! This can cause serious brain damage or even death! Please don’t just use the little paper dust masks make sure the filters say organic vapor and it is a half or full mask! Each cartridge contains granulated charcoal that is treated to absorb organic vapors from the air passing through as you inhale. Used mainly to protect against solvents, such as those in oil-based paints. Others would include paint thinner, lacquer thinner, turpentine and fuel vapors.

      The product advertises no prep work needed expert using the steel wool that I used off camera. It’s supposed to be a spray on enamel.

    Used this product a couple times now. Saving up to do a proper remodel of a 1970s bathroom. You can’t just spray this on top of your “cleaned” surface. You need to put in the extra $100 to strip the old paint and acid wash for this product to properly adhere. I agree it’s misleading in the instructions but common sense will prevail for any true diy. Hire a professional if you don’t understand the general process.

    A wise man once told me, "If you don't know what you are doing, it's best to not do much of it". You obviously did not know what you were doing. Next time you try doing something you have not done before, try experimenting on a "sample" piece (in your case, perhaps an old sink). Also, if you rely on instructions but do not have them, don't "wing it"; instructions can usually be found on the internet. Whenever you "take a crack at" doing something, there is a significant chance that the result will not be as desired.

    • @TechinfluenceTV
      @TechinfluenceTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s your opinion. I respectfully disagree. I followed a tutorial from the company online and they said to shake it for 2 min which I did. In reality it needed to be shaken for 5-10 min. That’s not me “winging it” that’s just a bad product. So take your Condescension elsewhere it’s not appreciated.

    You did not remove any of the caulk around the tub... You also didnt clean the rust off before starting... And more things.... Looks like you should have watched a TH-cam review video. Lmao..... Also your supposed to put the 2nd coat on within 6 hours of the first...... All in all .. I agree... This product is TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY

      Not good. Bad. The rust is already bleeding through the enamel.

      Buy rust remover then spray on. I believe your tub is not level from whomever installed it 😩

    • @kendralash7179
      @kendralash7179 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don't replace the tub. I would certainly just sand the tub rough.. and paint it again, using roll on... It should level out.

      at least my title is not misleading. its no tutorial but my review. i blame the instructions. im an average consumer and this product is targeting people like me. how was I supposed to know im supposed to prep the tub iwth acitone and other agents for prep. shouldn't that be in their instructions???

  • @trixiespeed6067
    @trixiespeed6067 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm a girl and mine turned out great when I did it. I didn't need the instructions. Most people my age should know to clean up area best ya can. shake spray cans well before use 20 seconds min. To not spray so close because drippage. To wear a mask make sure area is well ventilated and take breas. I've gotten many compliments actually lol .. geez guy. You should have came to TH-cam first.

    • @TheophilusTheThird
      @TheophilusTheThird 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kendralash7179 it was wrong. He didn't properly clean it with the [un]provided materials... she didn't mix the product correctly, from what I saw, he was spraying too closely, lastly, you are supposed to to an initial base coat that is light, then let is dry for approx. 20 minutes (not a full day), and then do subsequent coats.
      Also... proper masks and fans/ventilation is KEY.
      I don't fault him... he was a newby..Newby... but you can't knock the product because of your own inexperience.
