A really good crossbow is a thaumium limb, paper binding, manyullyn body, and enchanted bowstring, with manyullyn bolt slime fletching bolts, with auto-repair on the bolts (auto-repair DOES work on the bolts!). Add some red stone to the crossbow and you're good to go!
+mlq1718 Enchanted bowstring is bad. The only bowstring you should use, ever, is the regular ol' bowstring. The fire spider bowstring can be used in SOME cases (but even then, it's questionable), but the enchanted bowstring is just plain bad in every way.
TheDivineHunger Extra modifier slot is garbage since you're not going to actually be able to use it for anything anyway, the reloading faster is useless since there's a cap that you can reach anyway. So the only real difference the enchanted bowstring makes, is a bit less damage

etho the it's not cheap since your supposedly finding trace ores of random elements in the stone; it's actually really realistic. some of the stuff you can make in minechem is crazy, synthesizing cocaine and whatnot. anyway I recommend making C2H3OH to begin with

This mod theoretically makes it possible to get infinite amounts of any item after you set up a simple system to mine the cobble, smelt it to stone, an deconstruct it in minechem.

+ActionCrashGaming well, speaking from a chemist's standpoint, that's actually pretty accurate. what is stone other than a bunch of trace elements (usually with an abundance of calcium if I'm remembering off the top of my head)? if you were to break down those elements and recombine them into a more desireable product, say redstone (Iron (III) Oxide made me laugh because in the real world is just glorified rust) then you could theoretically do so, albeit with the cost of a lot more energy. (Enthalpy and all that).

Etho, With minechem you don't necessarily need the recipe to craft something. When you were making Redstone you could take an iron ingot, combine 2 fe and you'd get fe2. You could then combine O several times to get O3. Put those together in the synthesizer and bam you have redstone. You just have to learn what atoms are in which materials. You can break your compounds down into even smaller compounds by running them though the decomposer a second time even.
Etho, to add elements to your poly tool, you need one full stack of that element and every time you add a stack it will either add a new upgrade, or increase the upgrade to a better form, in example if you. add a stack of Fe it will mine 3 blocks when you mine ore, but if you add 5 stacks, it will mine 10 ore (numbers made up for example)

Hi etho! You can raise the crossbows damage via the bolts as well. If you add quarts to the bolts they will do more damage since the arrows have their own damage delt amount. Also if you do add moss to the arrows they will slowly regen new arrows so you cant actually fully run out and waste a lot of materials making more!
Hey Etho, I want to let you know that I think that your crossbow could be better. These are just my suggestions but I think they'll be really useful. Also, I rushed this so there's probably mistakes in here Bolt: the metal that you put on the rod is the only item you need the damage on and it doesn't matter how heavy it is. The fletchling and rod are for accuracy and I recommend blue slime for the fletchling and pink for the rod. Crossbow: the binding should be for modifier. The string should be the nether spider string. The rest should be for draw and arrow speed. I recommend illuminati for both. Also to my knowledge haste, and stuff like life steal and blaze don't work with the bows and arrows but I'm probably wrong Please someone tell me if I did something wrong because again I am in a hurry right now.
@etho, I'm not sure if it's fixed or not, but with tinker tools, you could make them insanely fast. You did this by giving them the attribute of getting faster when low. Get the item really low (digs really fast) and then use a power source item on it, so you can charge it. It will keep the speed of the low durability (or atleast it did)
+Yudigla Perez Lets be honest, that is not an exploit. The tool retains it's durability when you put a battery on it. This means that any disadvantages and any advantages are fair game. It would be pretty unfair to keep the tool at low durability when the battery runs out but not give the benefit of digging faster with stonebound.
+Jordy Brinks You can now only put flux on a tool if its durability is at least 1/1000 of the capacity of the capacitor you're putting on, hence the glory days of full ardite hammers are over. You can still get a somewhat decent tool by making a hammer with 2 parts ardite, 1 obsidian and 1 thaumium, grinding it to 1 durability then filling it with obsidian plates to make it unbreakable, but it's slower than a cobalt hammer so the only advantage is never having to recharge it.
Etho, you should make a master power generator in your world for each area, it would make power so much easier and you wouldn't have to make so many generators. Keep up the great work!

Eventually, you can get buckets of a specific chemical made and be able to place it. There's actually stuff you can make in Mine Chem that can cause different effects to you if you come into contact with it placed from healing, to insane speed boost, to also being able to crash your own game upon contact. Also, this stuff can be put on weapons and tools somehow.
Try this setup for a crossbow: Pink slime limb Paper or Thaumium binding Manyullyn body Fire string and then use all redstone for the modifiers. Add all three extras modifiers and fill two of them with redstone, then moss on the last. For the bolts, it's not quite so important what you make them with. Just remember that the stick you use determines durability, and the tip determines damage. For the modifiers you can max out quartz and add one moss to regenerate ammo, unless you think that you can afford the repair cost, in which case just completely max the quartz.
Etho just a heads up they changed mossy auto repair. If I am not mistaken it has to be on your hot bar to repair. That why you have not seen it repair in your inventory. That said made a hammer with obsidian head, thaumium handle, and two cobalt plates then all red stone upgrades, skipping repair/recharge all together I believe that is faster with over-world materials.Since it is reinforced III it also has pretty good durability. Then I use an igneous extruder to generate obsidian to repair it.
Further note: The slime fletching (from slimy sapling /slime tree leaves) is best, with a manyullyn tip. Pink slime from MFR is pretty good as a crossbow material, if your version of the modpack allows that. You will want redstone on the bow and quartz on the arrows, for draw speed and damage, respectively. Putting moss on the arrows is the only way to get the stack to autorefill, and I would suggest it, despite its slow speed, as it reduces the frequency you have to refill the stack of bolts, and thus saves material. If it is true that the Tinkers tools can only be repaired so many times, it is certainly advised.
Etho, make a crossbow with these materials, it becomes a Gatling crossbow that does 50+ hearts per shot. Purple stuff bolts, tipped and rod made out of purple stuff, slime fletching, and the crossbow : Blue slime limb, thaumium body, paper binding, and fiery string, then add all possible modifiers, then put flux and stack with redstone, and for the bolts, just put moss, then fill it with quartz.
Hi Etho, You may find the process of making stone into redstone through energy cheap, but this is actually how gold is mined. All earth on Earth has a bit of gold in it, and big gold mining companies process hundreds of tonnes of earth to get bits of the precious metal (and they do make profit from it). This is essentially the same process. Cheap, but realistic.
Etho, you can use a filing cabinet to store all of those chemicals, it will save you on a ton of space, then hook up the filing cabinet to a ME system for easy searching.
In order to melt signalum you need pyrotheum as a fuel. Fire string is the best by way of bow string. And for crossbow/bows you need to add sharpness to the bolt not the bow.
Minechem has fission, and fusion chambers in which you can make elements. You could decompose the iron, or more renewable resources into their core elements, and use the fission and fusion chambers to work our the required atomic number to create iron. I believe that using this method, you could use a large wheat field to make your titanium. Though the fusion and fission chambers require power, at least that I think so.
@EthosLab for the Frogger Game you can use The Cryotheum as the water (really Bright Blue) or Collect the Toxic sludge that spawns in the map that give a collection of Debufs (Dark Murky 'water') for an ominous feel. Great Vid
Some Tinkers longbows can do about 500 damage with a 1-2 second draw. The way to do this is blaze centers on the arrows, plus moss for the regenerating ammo and then maxed on Quartz. They alone do about 6-15 damage. The bows are manyllyn, no paper anywhere, maxed with moss and red stone.
Hey Etho,I am fine with using Minechem with stone that I got while mining. However, I wouldn't want to have a solar panel, connected to an Igneous Extruder, connected to the decomposer, connected to the assembler, connected to a Smeltery to produce ingots, as that turns 'chunk load time' into ingots. On the other hand, using stone I get from mining is similar to using a smeltery to double ore production. I see some people talking about AFK mob farms, I think that these are a Mojang intended feature and almost the "point" of endgame Minecraft, while Minchem did not "anticipate" other mods' machines that can produce infinite low-value items. I also think that some things like this are OK for modded PVP servers, but not for a more realistic survival world.
If you are looking to recycle old machines to get basic resources in return, you should spend an episode in the twilight trying to get the uncrafting table. I have not played the twilight mod in a long time but it might actually take more than an episode now.. might be fun though, I love to see some of those new weapons be put to good use :D
I believe you need Extra TIC to use thermal expansion alloys in tinkers construct. I don't know if you have it in your pack. I shall also share my knowledge of a crossbow I have made. Crossbow: Crossbow limb - Signalum, Binding - Paper, Crossbow body - Thaumium, Bowstring - Fire string. Add moss for one modifier and redstone for the rest so it is super speedy. Bolts: Tool rod - Pink Slime (if you have minefactory reloaded) if not use as you put it "the purple goop", Bolt coating - Enderium, and a blue slime fletching. Add moss for one modifier and quartz for the rest. This bow and bolt combination should do if memory serves me right around 98 damage. Kills the ender dragon in around 2 - 3 hits ; ) I use a personally created modpack so the results may differ or certain parts may not be available I hope you give it a shot though, good luck Etho and thanks for the entertaining video!
Make the hole crossbow out of pink slime. you will have half a second of draw speed and the same amount of damage. It is insane. Add only red stone for modifiers quartz does nothing but up the waylay damage which is unless because your not going to go around waking mobs with your crossbow. You should add quartz to your bolts which will up the damage. Love your videos keep them coming.
For crossbow bolts you should use pig iron bolt tiped w/ manylyum(idefk) sugar cane rod, and blue slime leave fletchling. Its really good. I also made a full pig iron crossbow. maxed out quartz on the bolts, using quartz on bows and crossbows doesn't effect ranged dmg. Put redstone on the crossbow to shorten time of course. This will reload really fast and do lots of dmg.
Hey Etho, for melting the Signalum you need Liquid Blazing Pyrotheum in the Smeltery instead of Lava! Also adding Quartz to a Crossbow doesn't affect anything, you have to put the Quartz on the Bolts and only Redstone to the Crossbow.
The journal for minechem is just a fun add-on, you don't need to identify the compound before you can create it, you can just look up the recipe in nei.

I'm the justrandomthings mod, you can use ectoplasm to create a specter key, its dimension with a room just for you. At your AE base you should put Octodic Capasiters in all the machines, makes everything super duper fast. love the content keep it up
Etho, I'm totally fine with you using MineChem to synthesize resources from stone. It takes a *lot* of stone (from an entire stack of stone, you only got 1 Aluminum, and it takes 16 to create an ingot) and a lot of power to do it, and otherwise getting resources is otherwise a huge pain! So, I'd say, go right ahead and have fun with it. That way, you can focus on the fun parts of building machines rather than monotonous grinding, and you get to experience a new mod.
Etho, besides needing to put blazing pyrotheum in your smeltery as fuel to melt your signalum, you also need to install ExtraTiC which adds signalum as a usable toolmaterial.
Etho, with MineChem you can make a lot of fun things and not just 'cheat' with it. You can combine dozens of different chemicals to make potion effects 10 times stronger than the actual potion. Say a speed potion. If you use the right chemicals you can make a chemical that lets you go from point A to point B (point B is 200 blocks away) in 10 seconds or less if you use them right. It is extremely complex to make though. You need to break down some of the most complex items in the game, combine them to form even more complex chemicals, and it is a giant process of trial and error. So long story short: only delve deep into MineChem if you have tons of patience, spare time, or just want to experiment.
How to make an OP crossbow. Step 1- get some blue slime crystals and slime leaves(DEFIANTLY use pink slime crystals if u have mine factory reloaded. Much more powerful.) Step 2- make a crossbow limb out of blue slime(or pink if u have it). Use normal string. Other parts I haven't tested but you should still use blue slime parts(or pink). Step 3- make manulium(or however it's spelled) bolts tipped in manulium. Makes bolts using this for max amount and damage. Use slime leaves for fetching. Add a moss ball to the bolts once crafted and fill rest with Quartz for more damage. Step 4- now for making the crossbow op. Add all of your extra modifier items to your crossbow(diamond+gold block, daimond block+notch Apple, nether star). Once done add 1 moss ball. Then add all the redstone that you can. I got my pink slime crossbow down to about .3 seconds reload speed, an average of 20 points of damage, very high range and low break chance for arrows. That's about 3 shots per second. Have fun:)
I don't know if this works anymore, but it used to be possible to make arrows and use them as a melee weapon without a bow or anything, they still did full damage. You could stack them up to 64 and they didn't even have a durability bar, so they never broke. You could increase their damage too, a stack at a time. You could still fire them with a bow, but you basically didn't need a sword. Of course the best melee arrows didn't travel very far when shot with a bow.

Etho, you say that getting redstone from the stone is sorta cheaty; but when you think about it, the amount of redstone (Or other ores) gained would be miniscule, and you'd get more redstone if you just went and mined it by hand. plus it requires power and copper aswell, so it is pretty balanced for how cheap it seems. and also there is the fact it could potentaily fail, in which case I'd imagine you lost some items there.
For your crossbow, to make the lomb signalium you need to switch the lava tank in your smeltery to pyrothermium, pink slime is also very good i believe, regarding your sword and bolts enderium is best as it has insane damage :)
Etho, you should get the osmatic enchanter from thaumic tinkerer, it will make enchanting much easier. It might be expensive, but trust me, it's well worth it! It requires researching the spellbinding cloth so you might not see the reasearch.
Hi Etho. You can use magical wood also as a part for tinkers tools. They add modifiers. Also a signalum crossbow I'm not sure but I think it's a ExtraTiC feature.
If you put the materials to make signalum into the smeltery, it would alloy into signalum which you could then cast. Also add Tinker's Tool Tips so you can see more info about your TiCon tool.

It's an interesting thing to play around with that also allows you to get things that would be very tedious to get or that just aren't in your biome.

+ActionCrashGaming well, speaking from a chemist's standpoint, that's actually pretty accurate. what is stone other than a bunch of trace elements (usually with an abundance of calcium if I'm remembering off the top of my head)? if you were to break down those elements and recombine them into a more desireable product, say redstone (Iron (III) Oxide made me laugh because in the real world is just glorified rust) then you could theoretically do so, albeit with the cost of a lot more energy. (Enthalpy and all that).

Etho, With minechem you don't necessarily need the recipe to craft something. When you were making Redstone you could take an iron ingot, combine 2 fe and you'd get fe2. You could then combine O several times to get O3. Put those together in the synthesizer and bam you have redstone. You just have to learn what atoms are in which materials. You can break your compounds down into even smaller compounds by running them though the decomposer a second time even.

Etho, to add elements to your poly tool, you need one full stack of that element and every time you add a stack it will either add a new upgrade, or increase the upgrade to a better form, in example if you. add a stack of Fe it will mine 3 blocks when you mine ore, but if you add 5 stacks, it will mine 10 ore (numbers made up for example)

Getting random elements from stone is actually very realistic. It's not cheaty. So getting a little bit of lead from stone is good
Hi etho! You can raise the crossbows damage via the bolts as well. If you add quarts to the bolts they will do more damage since the arrows have their own damage delt amount. Also if you do add moss to the arrows they will slowly regen new arrows so you cant actually fully run out and waste a lot of materials making more!

Hey Etho, I want to let you know that I think that your crossbow could be better. These are just my suggestions but I think they'll be really useful. Also, I rushed this so there's probably mistakes in here
Bolt: the metal that you put on the rod is the only item you need the damage on and it doesn't matter how heavy it is. The fletchling and rod are for accuracy and I recommend blue slime for the fletchling and pink for the rod.
Crossbow: the binding should be for modifier. The string should be the nether spider string. The rest should be for draw and arrow speed. I recommend illuminati for both.
Also to my knowledge haste, and stuff like life steal and blaze don't work with the bows and arrows but I'm probably wrong

@etho, I'm not sure if it's fixed or not, but with tinker tools, you could make them insanely fast.
You did this by giving them the attribute of getting faster when low.
Get the item really low (digs really fast) and then use a power source item on it, so you can charge it.
It will keep the speed of the low durability (or atleast it did)

+Yudigla Perez Lets be honest, that is not an exploit. The tool retains it's durability when you put a battery on it. This means that any disadvantages and any advantages are fair game. It would be pretty unfair to keep the tool at low durability when the battery runs out but not give the benefit of digging faster with stonebound.

+Jordy Brinks You can now only put flux on a tool if its durability is at least 1/1000 of the capacity of the capacitor you're putting on, hence the glory days of full ardite hammers are over. You can still get a somewhat decent tool by making a hammer with 2 parts ardite, 1 obsidian and 1 thaumium, grinding it to 1 durability then filling it with obsidian plates to make it unbreakable, but it's slower than a cobalt hammer so the only advantage is never having to recharge it.

Eventually, you can get buckets of a specific chemical made and be able to place it. There's actually stuff you can make in Mine Chem that can cause different effects to you if you come into contact with it placed from healing, to insane speed boost, to also being able to crash your own game upon contact. Also, this stuff can be put on weapons and tools somehow.
Try this setup for a crossbow:
Pink slime limb
Paper or Thaumium binding
Manyullyn body
Fire string
and then use all redstone for the modifiers. Add all three extras modifiers and fill two of them with redstone, then moss on the last.
For the bolts, it's not quite so important what you make them with. Just remember that the stick you use determines durability, and the tip determines damage. For the modifiers you can max out quartz and add one moss to regenerate ammo, unless you think that you can afford the repair cost, in which case just completely max the quartz.

Etho just a heads up they changed mossy auto repair. If I am not mistaken it has to be on your hot bar to repair. That why you have not seen it repair in your inventory. That said made a hammer with obsidian head, thaumium handle, and two cobalt plates then all red stone upgrades, skipping repair/recharge all together I believe that is faster with over-world materials.Since it is reinforced III it also has pretty good durability. Then I use an igneous extruder to generate obsidian to repair it.
Further note: The slime fletching (from slimy sapling /slime tree leaves) is best, with a manyullyn tip. Pink slime from MFR is pretty good as a crossbow material, if your version of the modpack allows that. You will want redstone on the bow and quartz on the arrows, for draw speed and damage, respectively. Putting moss on the arrows is the only way to get the stack to autorefill, and I would suggest it, despite its slow speed, as it reduces the frequency you have to refill the stack of bolts, and thus saves material. If it is true that the Tinkers tools can only be repaired so many times, it is certainly advised.

Etho, make a crossbow with these materials, it becomes a Gatling crossbow that does 50+ hearts per shot. Purple stuff bolts, tipped and rod made out of purple stuff, slime fletching, and the crossbow : Blue slime limb, thaumium body, paper binding, and fiery string, then add all possible modifiers, then put flux and stack with redstone, and for the bolts, just put moss, then fill it with quartz.

You may find the process of making stone into redstone through energy cheap, but this is actually how gold is mined. All earth on Earth has a bit of gold in it, and big gold mining companies process hundreds of tonnes of earth to get bits of the precious metal (and they do make profit from it). This is essentially the same process. Cheap, but realistic.
Etho, you can use a filing cabinet to store all of those chemicals, it will save you on a ton of space, then hook up the filing cabinet to a ME system for easy searching.

In order to melt signalum you need pyrotheum as a fuel. Fire string is the best by way of bow string. And for crossbow/bows you need to add sharpness to the bolt not the bow.
Minechem has fission, and fusion chambers in which you can make elements. You could decompose the iron, or more renewable resources into their core elements, and use the fission and fusion chambers to work our the required atomic number to create iron. I believe that using this method, you could use a large wheat field to make your titanium. Though the fusion and fission chambers require power, at least that I think so.
@EthosLab for the Frogger Game you can use The Cryotheum as the water (really Bright Blue) or Collect the Toxic sludge that spawns in the map that give a collection of Debufs (Dark Murky 'water') for an ominous feel. Great Vid
Some Tinkers longbows can do about 500 damage with a 1-2 second draw.
The way to do this is blaze centers on the arrows, plus moss for the regenerating ammo and then maxed on Quartz. They alone do about 6-15 damage.
The bows are manyllyn, no paper anywhere, maxed with moss and red stone.
Hey Etho,I am fine with using Minechem with stone that I got while mining. However, I wouldn't want to have a solar panel, connected to an Igneous Extruder, connected to the decomposer, connected to the assembler, connected to a Smeltery to produce ingots, as that turns 'chunk load time' into ingots. On the other hand, using stone I get from mining is similar to using a smeltery to double ore production. I see some people talking about AFK mob farms, I think that these are a Mojang intended feature and almost the "point" of endgame Minecraft, while Minchem did not "anticipate" other mods' machines that can produce infinite low-value items. I also think that some things like this are OK for modded PVP servers, but not for a more realistic survival world.

If you are looking to recycle old machines to get basic resources in return, you should spend an episode in the twilight trying to get the uncrafting table. I have not played the twilight mod in a long time but it might actually take more than an episode now.. might be fun though, I love to see some of those new weapons be put to good use :D
I believe you need Extra TIC to use thermal expansion alloys in tinkers construct. I don't know if you have it in your pack. I shall also share my knowledge of a crossbow I have made.
Crossbow: Crossbow limb - Signalum, Binding - Paper, Crossbow body - Thaumium, Bowstring - Fire string. Add moss for one modifier and redstone for the rest so it is super speedy.
Bolts: Tool rod - Pink Slime (if you have minefactory reloaded) if not use as you put it "the purple goop", Bolt coating - Enderium, and a blue slime fletching. Add moss for one modifier and quartz for the rest.
This bow and bolt combination should do if memory serves me right around 98 damage. Kills the ender dragon in around 2 - 3 hits ; )
I use a personally created modpack so the results may differ or certain parts may not be available I hope you give it a shot though, good luck Etho and thanks for the entertaining video!

Make the hole crossbow out of pink slime. you will have half a second of draw speed and the same amount of damage. It is insane. Add only red stone for modifiers quartz does nothing but up the waylay damage which is unless because your not going to go around waking mobs with your crossbow. You should add quartz to your bolts which will up the damage. Love your videos keep them coming.
For crossbow bolts you should use pig iron bolt tiped w/ manylyum(idefk) sugar cane rod, and blue slime leave fletchling. Its really good. I also made a full pig iron crossbow. maxed out quartz on the bolts, using quartz on bows and crossbows doesn't effect ranged dmg. Put redstone on the crossbow to shorten time of course.
This will reload really fast and do lots of dmg.
Hey Etho, for melting the Signalum you need Liquid Blazing Pyrotheum in the Smeltery instead of Lava! Also adding Quartz to a Crossbow doesn't affect anything, you have to put the Quartz on the Bolts and only Redstone to the Crossbow.

I'm the justrandomthings mod, you can use ectoplasm to create a specter key, its dimension with a room just for you. At your AE base you should put Octodic Capasiters in all the machines, makes everything super duper fast. love the content keep it up
Etho, I'm totally fine with you using MineChem to synthesize resources from stone. It takes a *lot* of stone (from an entire stack of stone, you only got 1 Aluminum, and it takes 16 to create an ingot) and a lot of power to do it, and otherwise getting resources is otherwise a huge pain! So, I'd say, go right ahead and have fun with it. That way, you can focus on the fun parts of building machines rather than monotonous grinding, and you get to experience a new mod.
Etho, besides needing to put blazing pyrotheum in your smeltery as fuel to melt your signalum, you also need to install ExtraTiC which adds signalum as a usable toolmaterial.
Etho, with MineChem you can make a lot of fun things and not just 'cheat' with it. You can combine dozens of different chemicals to make potion effects 10 times stronger than the actual potion. Say a speed potion. If you use the right chemicals you can make a chemical that lets you go from point A to point B (point B is 200 blocks away) in 10 seconds or less if you use them right. It is extremely complex to make though. You need to break down some of the most complex items in the game, combine them to form even more complex chemicals, and it is a giant process of trial and error. So long story short: only delve deep into MineChem if you have tons of patience, spare time, or just want to experiment.
In case you were wondering, Iron (III) Oxide is basically rust. I guess the modmakers associated the red color to redstone, which makes sense I guess.
How to make an OP crossbow.
Step 1- get some blue slime crystals and slime leaves(DEFIANTLY use pink slime crystals if u have mine factory reloaded. Much more powerful.)
Step 2- make a crossbow limb out of blue slime(or pink if u have it). Use normal string. Other parts I haven't tested but you should still use blue slime parts(or pink).
Step 3- make manulium(or however it's spelled) bolts tipped in manulium. Makes bolts using this for max amount and damage. Use slime leaves for fetching. Add a moss ball to the bolts once crafted and fill rest with Quartz for more damage.
Step 4- now for making the crossbow op. Add all of your extra modifier items to your crossbow(diamond+gold block, daimond block+notch Apple, nether star). Once done add 1 moss ball. Then add all the redstone that you can. I got my pink slime crossbow down to about .3 seconds reload speed, an average of 20 points of damage, very high range and low break chance for arrows.
That's about 3 shots per second. Have fun:)
I don't know if this works anymore, but it used to be possible to make arrows and use them as a melee weapon without a bow or anything, they still did full damage. You could stack them up to 64 and they didn't even have a durability bar, so they never broke. You could increase their damage too, a stack at a time. You could still fire them with a bow, but you basically didn't need a sword. Of course the best melee arrows didn't travel very far when shot with a bow.

Etho, you say that getting redstone from the stone is sorta cheaty; but when you think about it, the amount of redstone (Or other ores) gained would be miniscule, and you'd get more redstone if you just went and mined it by hand. plus it requires power and copper aswell, so it is pretty balanced for how cheap it seems. and also there is the fact it could potentaily fail, in which case I'd imagine you lost some items there.
For your crossbow, to make the lomb signalium you need to switch the lava tank in your smeltery to pyrothermium, pink slime is also very good i believe, regarding your sword and bolts enderium is best as it has insane damage :)
Etho, you should get the osmatic enchanter from thaumic tinkerer, it will make enchanting much easier. It might be expensive, but trust me, it's well worth it!
It requires researching the spellbinding cloth so you might not see the reasearch.

Hi Etho. You can use magical wood also as a part for tinkers tools. They add modifiers. Also a signalum crossbow I'm not sure but I think it's a ExtraTiC feature.
If you put the materials to make signalum into the smeltery, it would alloy into signalum which you could then cast. Also add Tinker's Tool Tips so you can see more info about your TiCon tool.
Hey Etho, You should check out the immersive engineering mod. It's really cool and has some unique ways of processing and acquiring resources as well as an interesting wire system.
Etho, in order to get the repair 2 enchant, you have to use the infusion altar. Its a thaumcraft only enchant.
Dear Etho, the moss tools can only repair when they are exposed to light (in your hand) it's just for future notice I thought it would just automatically repair too. Also we are writing essays and we are using ETHOs pathos and logos in the essay. Thought it was cool my English teacher said Etho. Alright byeeeee
