    Please watch the video till the end before commenting.
    Edit : Some things i wanna share after reading the comment section:
    1-Oxybenzone (BP-3) and octinoxate (OMC), were recently banned in Hawaii and Key West due to their toxic effects on marine ecosystems, including coral reefs. These ingredients cause coral bleaching, which can stress, damage and ultimately kill coral.
    2- No new sunscreen ingredient has been approved by FDA for use since the 1990s despite all the concerns.
    3- New generation filters are considered to be safer and are approved in EU, Australia, UK and many other countries. There is a need of more long term studies to test the effects of sunscreen filters in humans.
    4- I believe that a brand can have both good and bad products. One bad product review doesn't mean the whole brand is cancelled.
    5- My aim with this video is that i hope Indian skincare brands come up with sunscreens with better filters and more non nano mineral sunscreen options which doesn’t have any hidden chemical sunscreen filter. There are many brands which just write mineral sunscreen but it’s actually a hybrid sunscreen. It's not right to misguide customers to sell their so called "mineral" sunscreens. We need more transparency and healthy discussions in the skincare community.
    6- I am also a customer first. I buy so much skincare every year and spend my hard earned money to provide reviews here. So that you guys can have a clarity and needed information before buying new skincare. I love when a skincare recommendation works for you. It makes me the happiest. But when something doesn’t work for your skin that worked for my skin, how is that my fault? I am not making that skincare product. I am like a friend on the internet who likes to talk about skincare, share what worked for my skin and what didn't in a way that will be helpful for you. It's you at the end of the day who is in charge of your money and decide to buy a product. I will not tolerate any misdirected anger. I am not a customer care for any of these brands.
    7- As a human i am growing with time and so is everyone & everything. You probably also don’t identify with many things from 2-3 years ago and must have changed your opinions several times about things. But on internet it seems like one is not trustworthy if they change their opinion about something. I personally believe in having a growth mindset. I am allowed to evolve as a person and so is the skincare industry.
    8- I have nothing against any particular brand. In fact many of the brands i mentioned in today's video are some of my favourite Indian skincare brands except some brands that are literally everywhere despite their bad products due to huge marketing.
    9- Lastly but most importantly, i am so thankful to my subscribers who are growing with me and trying to figure out life as we go. Thank you for giving me the grace and space to evolve and grow. I appreciate you guys so much for your maturity and kindness.

      I just had one question, about the Earth Rhythm SPF 50 Hybrid Sunscreen, they don’t have the old filters you mentioned. So is that okay to use?

What I like about you the most is that some of your recommendations have stayed consistent over the years, unlike some other youtubers who rave about a product, call it their holy grail and then never again appear on their channels later. Also, I really feel almost everyone is being so mesmerized by the mama Earth marketing. Dermaco, aqualogica, ayuga- these are all owned by them. And their sunscreens are basically variations of the same formula. Their marketing tactic has been to flood the market and monopolise the market under different names, so that in the end whatever we buy it's essentially the same company profiting. And the way they seem to have a sway on these influencers, i am wondering how you have resisted the temptation to sing their praises.

Infact none of the new filters are still approved by the FDA although they are approved in the EU and the rest of the world. Using old, new, mineral, hybrid is all upto personal choice. I have the minimalist one. And believe it's the vest for me!! I have sensitive dry skin so nothing works on me, i literally only can use boroline and cetaphil cleaser. So i tried to look for sunscreen a year ago and bought one of those which you do not recommend after watching so many influencers and tik tok dermatologist and the moment i applied, i had a bad break out the next day, it took me a week to get my skin again. Sigh. So after a lot of thinking i bought the minimalist one and omfg it's perfect!!! During summer i only apply a drop of cetaphil moisturizer and then 6 drops of minimalist sunscreen, it work beautifully! No break, no itching. Now in winter i do the same but sometimes i don't apply moisturizer because it gets too heavy for me despite having dry skin. This sunscreen also helped me to ruduce the redness around my eyes. I totally love it.

    Saw this and immediately checked the ingredient list of my favourite sunscreens and Jesus. I feel so sad. After going through so many brands, I finally found two brands that suit my skin and work with the humidity in my area. And I am so scared to try other sunscreens at this point.
    I absolutely hated the minimalist sunscreen, it was super super heavy and is not made for humid weather at all.
    I’ve been wanting to try skinvest’s sunscreen for a while, although expensive it doesn’t have the harmful filters she’s mentioned if anyone is looking for an alternative.

    Hello Mandi, you are quiet good with your product reviews and I agree with everything you mentioned about these popular brands, however, even the new age sunscreen filters are not FDA approved. The ONLY sunscreen filters that are FDA approved are the mineral ones, zinc and titanium. They may leave a little white cast but they are the safest and best way to protect our skin. The chemical filters penetrate our skin and we should not let anything that's not approved into our bloodstream. Do you have any recommendations for complete mineral based sunscreens?

    • @ananyah.v4084
      @ananyah.v4084 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Fda has not updated their list since early 2000s , the newer generation filters are approved in UK , Australia, many other countries.
      Oxybenze is scrutinized too much , SCCC just reduced the percentage , just to be on safer side , it's not banned .

  • @mannatrattan
    @mannatrattan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    But chemical sunscreens are safe for pregnant women! Chemical sunscreen ingredients only become toxic if a huge quantity gets into the blood stream in a short time, which cannot happen. So its safe. Infact 'chemical' sunscreens may be better than physical sunscreens since they leave no white cast and are more stable and effective sun filters. You can get a higher spf with chemical filters but not physical filters.
