Bro I legit cry every time I hear Bobby talk about addiction and the rooms. I was a heroin addict for 6 years, opiates for 12, and I come back to this part of this episode from time to time to get a good dose of feels.

as someone who grew up in florida... there are signs EVERYWHERE that tell you not to hang out around the edges of lakes (cause thats how crocodiles/alligators usually attack)
The first non-binary person in the US, J. Shupe, went through a pretty severe mental crisis and 3 years later denounced the legal designation and their own recognition as non-binary and returned to his former male identity. Shupe is still considered a pioneer for setting a legal precedent in gender identity and opening up channels in government recognition wherein 11 states now include non-binary status on legal identification.
Anything to avoid dealing with racism, homelessness, greedy landlords and stagnant pay...but, identifying as BS, sure, important stuff...sad

greatest advice ever given from Bobby today, I can add one small thing that can help ease the physical pain of opiate withdrawal. it's called Kratom. get the red strain and take a shitload of it, it will stop all the aches and sweats and diarrhea and I even got a slight buzz from it. my thing was oxys for 15 years. I'm sure it would work for smack too. u have to take a lot, I used to mix 7 to 10 grams with some coffee or hot coco and chug it down. quitting Kratom was easy like quitting coffee but you could in theory just keep taking it if u want as it's legal. check it out it worked for me, I wanted to quit too tho, was sick of being broke ass feind all the time.

You've mentioned it before but even though letting someone hit their bottom is something they should do, it makes me nervous. That if you let them try to get there, they may die before hitting bottom.
Bob jumps the shark I'm my opinion...and that's a nice statement regarding what I'd mentioned on question of heroin abuse advise...also advising on waiting for rock bottom is dangerous advise because done bottoms are death and how many loved ones didn't help..reach out because "oh no they haven't hit rock bottom"...The Cure to Addiction is Not Sobriety..it's Connection...it's why those drunks didn't need to drink all in their circle as Bob mentions on ole Bills tale. It's also not effective...only with a certain type of which Bob here is most likely like...NPR talks about this more eloquently. I will leave link on comment below.
