    Absolutely beautiful car. God I miss the old days. When I was a young nockabout in the early 90’s almost every car was either a falcon a commodore or a landcruiser. I miss the old Australia so much. Before the internet and social media the Australian culture was so vibrant and unique.

    When I was in my last year of high school in 1999, one of the kids in my grade would borrow his Dad's EB GT occasionally, such a stunning car. The only thing I never liked about them was the tacky looking bonnet scoop. Every time you review a car with Windsor V8, it reminds me how much better sounding an engine they are than what came after, same as the 308/304 powered Holden's always sound better than the LS powered ones that followed.

    I used to work at a factory that made the carpets for Ford, Holden and Toyota, Ford were the worst on quality control if a product had a fault they were highly likely to accept it, Holden were slightly more strict and Toyota was full on strict, in fact toyota used a water pressure cutting tool to cut the carpets and ford and holden were a production crew with hammers (plastic mallets to cut out holes in the carpet) and knives to trim the carpet. So how the Ford logo is not on straight makes sense.

    Makes me nostalgic. Had an ED + it was a beast of a car. Stayed away from Commodores & Falcons in the early noughties. Recently bought a 100% original low mileage EF2 Boss 260 as a Forever car. It only goes out in sunny days. The "perched on top" seating position of everything post-EL truly sucks. I miss my old E-series Fords 😢

    Back in the 90s the naturally aspirated XR6s were notorious for outperforming Ford V8s and the poor GTs are no exception. Had only FORD went done the same path as Porsche and made a naturally aspirated Inline 6 with power in the mid 300 kilowatts, that would of put the Barra's in the same league as BMW inline engines at least.

    The ED XR8 looks better in my opinion, the EB GT looks a little tacky for my taste, each to their own. They could have done a lot more with the motor for such a rare model, 200KW is pretty underwhelming in such a heavy car. With a low 15 second quarter mile (manual) it was just barely quicker than an EB XR6.

    • @fordmusclecarsaustalia1146
      @fordmusclecarsaustalia1146 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The ED sprint was a much better car I’d say 👍. The EB GT was a bit ugly especially compared to what they could of have. An EA GT 351

    This car was poorly received. Slower than it should have been fir it’s styling. The interior was more luxury than sports. With time rarity and representing history have redeemed it. But in 1993 the smart money was bog stock XR6/8 really the sweet mildly tweaked six was the sweet spot.
