It’s as real as it gets. It’s fascinating and nfl fans don’t really get it that If that happened doesn’t really mean next thing will happen and if the first thing didn’t happen originally then the 2nd thing wouldn’t have happened.

      Yeah as Giants fans we really never had the reason to hate the Pats like the rest of the league by the time of that second win.
      If anything, somewhere along the line, I realized I’d started actively rooting for Brady & Belichick’s continued success by the time of their second dynasty in the mid-late ‘10s because it both made the case for Eli & those Giants teams’ legacies more impressive as well as not really having any reason NOT to want to see greatness in the form of them racking up rings. Like why root for the Seahawks (who’d just beaten up Peyton the year before when he “should” have won the SB to top off his record setting season)/Falcons/Eagles/Rams instead of the Pats at that point?
      Also by the time of that Falcons comeback Super Bowl game, Brady passed into the “late career legend” phase where all but the pettiest fans put aside their grudges and just appreciate the history they’re seeing for the remaining years he’s playing.

Now if josh Gordon goes into KC and completely pulls a Tommy Chong and is absolutely horrendous then my man I’m right their with you lol. But I hope he comes back and lites it up

    The late 2000s had some amazing Super Bowls especially Super Bowls 42-44, E. Manning vs Brady, Big Ben vs Warner, P. Manning vs Brees. 6 quarterbacks that will all have a gold jacket when it's said and done with at least 3 being first ballot. From the helmet catch, to James Harrison 100 yard pick 6, to Sean Payton calling an onside kick to start the second half. A new era is beginning in the NFL, can't say if it will be better or worse, but I can promise it will be different and I just hope it will have as many or more magical moments than this one.

    I think this would be what the kids would call subtle "shade". Brady's long pause when he said "you were.....one of the all-time greats" and Bill only said Eli had a 16 year career. High praise I guess? Eli is right. They're both still bitter over 18-1.

    • @plazik7481
      @plazik7481 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Bill probably is, and Brady is more bitter about David Tyree than Eli I'd assume lol. That's not shade at all from Tom. In fact it's high praise from the GOAT. A lot of people even with the 2 SB wins don't think Eli is a HOFer, and surely don't think he's a top 10, maybe even top 15 QB ever despite the yards and TDs. Tom calling him 1 of the, "All time greats" implies Tom thinks of him the same way he thinks of guys like Marino, Favre, Brees who are all HOF caliber QBs

    Eli was so frustrating at times, but one of the best ever with 2 minutes left to win a game. I'm not just talking the two super bowls.
    The last half of his career was disappointing, but I'm going to fault the GM's and coaches. We missed on so many 1st and 2nd round picks, and to build great teams you have to hit on those players due to the salary cap.

    • @YankeeBlues21
      @YankeeBlues21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seriously, you look at their picks in the 2010s and not only have so many been busts, but you could’ve built an all-world O-line with the guys they passed on for people like Eli Apple and David Wilson, while missing whenever they did take linemen early, like Ereck Flowers.
      Eli spent the entire second half of his career with a below average-to-horrible O-line (even the 2nd Super Bowl team’s line was the aging version of the better 07-08 champs, with lesser players filled in to replace the guys who’d left).

    • @AB-nv7bz
      @AB-nv7bz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YankeeBlues21 100%. They kept going skill positions, when all that matters is in the trenches. We won 2 super bowls with stacked D and O lines. Just look at every super bowl winner in the last decade, all had stacked o and d lines.
      Its so frustrating to watch. I think DJ has played really well, looks like a franchise qb this year, but we can't sustain drives because of a free rusher that leads to a sack or throw away.
      And our first round draft pick is nowhere to be seen. Gettleman has to go now. And take that nate solder contract with him.

    • @YankeeBlues21
      @YankeeBlues21 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AB-nv7bz
      As bad as Reese was, Gettleman has been a total disaster since replacing him.
      This is two straight 1sts that Gettleman has completely blown. Toney this year (when they could’ve taken Paye or Darrisaw depending on if they wanted to go D or O line) and Thomas last year (Wirfs being on the board felt like the better pick at the time and he’s turning out to be a rock solid lineman in TB).
      Three if you count that, had they waited a year on a QB, they could’ve gotten Herbert (since i remember reports in 2019 that, if Herbert were coming out as a junior, the Giants liked him). I think if they saw something they liked, that should’ve been the year they traded back for picks and set their sights on getting their guy. He’s like a young Big Ben.
      They just don’t seem to have a plan beyond the here and now. It’s like they’re in constant reaction mode, instead of planning 3 years out, which they should be doing considering they don’t have a contending team right now.
      A team like Tampa can be in the “what should we do this week/month/season?” because they’re riding the end of Brady’s (and likely Arians’) career and whenever it’s over, next year or three years from now, it’s total rebuild time.
      But a team like NYG needs to have had a 3-5 year plan in place years ago. As much as a love Saquon, them taking him in 2018 looks more and more like “oooh shiny!” rather than the act of a rational front office, given how they failed to have a line in place or give him a line after, and with how short RBs careers are, he’s probably already at least halfway through his prime without anything to show for it.
      I mean, they didn’t draft a single OL this year. It’s literally the weakest part of the team, we didn’t need more WRs, especially one who doesn’t even play.

    • @AB-nv7bz
      @AB-nv7bz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YankeeBlues21 ya agreed. Ojulari seems to be the only pick he has gotten right, and it’s really early.
