    I buy milk glass. I am 70 & I use my pieces. A long time ago when I was in my early 20's, my elderly friend (75y/o) gave me a piece of advice. He had been married 3 times. Each time he out lived each wife. He said each one had a set of special dishes they loved. Each wife's set was packed away except few times a year when used. He gave me a beautiful set of Desert Rose dishes. He said I was to use them daily. If one piece that got broke, I was to remember how much joy I got from using the dish item. I have always bought my collectables with an eye to how I can use it. So much joy of using beautiful pieces daily. God bless.

    I did my daughter's wedding table flowers in milk glass. I looked and they are Fenton. Weighed a ton with the flowers. They made a beautiful romantic wedding. I enjoy your knowledge and I am inspired to use my collections.

    I think I'm in love with these. The information was so interesting. My dad worked at Libbey Glass for 42 years and he loved talking how they made some pieces. Most times whether the stems were stretched or applied. They did carry L E. Smith bowls for them. I got one for a Christmas present. So heavy. Thanks for sharing. My mom has collected a lot of Fenton and Westmoreland over the years. She's very proud of the pieces as my dad gave them to her. As I've gotten older I've come to appreciate how beautiful her pieces are. That horned bowl is just incredible!

    Love this video! Love to hear about patterns and pieces! Also love to hear about the history of the companies! I want to add to this information. West Virginia and Ohio up to Pennsylvania and even New York was known for Pottery Glass and even American China. It’s because of the Ohio River and even the Great Lakes area as the soil was sandy soil and you need the sandy soil to make glass. Glass families such as Libby came from NY and moved to Toledo Ohio to make glass. Southern Ohio Bordering West Virginia divided by the Ohio River produced many pottery, china and glass wares, that’s the reason why you can find so many antique and vintage pieces at shops throughout these regions.Glass collectors travel to these areas and even in Toledo Ohio called “The Glass City” has The Toledo Art Museum and the newest Museum Building is for Only Glass they have huge antique glass collections fun to visit.

    Hi ya Jeff I have a lot of milk glass from England I'm actually looking at a piece now it's a pillar 8" high with a bowl that has the diamond pattern and 6 flared top I love it . I have a flower arrangement in it but I do use it on the Christmas table . I also have a gravy boat and salt , pepper and mustard condiment set on the leaf bottem in the same pattern , it was mum's . But you have some beautiful pieces the baskets are lovely . I do have one but yours are gorgeous . I have 6 Irish whiskey glasses but I've just looked they are not English . You've got me looking at them all I have one Fenton bowl . I better not look anymore it's late evening . Keep safe and well God bless you all Karen and Jeff in Australia .💕🌻🍚🌞🇭🇲

    I found someone (in you) who loves milk glass as much as I do! I have about 200 pieces of mostly Fenton, some Westmoreland, some Imperial. They are displayed in 3 IKEA Billy bookcases. No room for even one more piece. I collected them in Southern California (Santa Barbara area), Oregon (Portland area) and Fort Langley in British Columbia, Canada. I love each and every piece. Each brings a memory of when and where I found them. I have a couple of Fenton pieces with the cactus pattern, but they’re hard to find. Same with the Fenton thumb print pattern. I never buy on-line, on e-Bay, etc. Too easy. I love to hunt for them in-person. More fun. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦

    Fenton made epergnes up into the late 1980s. I remember seeing them on QVC.
    I grew up in Westmoreland County and used to have hundreds of pieces of milk glass, mostly Westmoreland and Fenton silvercrest. Got rid of everything but a small hobnail bowl that I keep for sentimental reasons in my foyer with my car keys in it.

    In 1962, I had the Eparn, My husband rejected me as his wife, so I gave all my wedding gifts to a friend who was getting married. I lost it all to others. Could anyone have such bad luck or just destiny. It's been gone for what 59 years, I hope the newly getting married girl still has it. I loved these things, yet was so hurt. I'm sure I was angry and had no use for any wedding gifts. I'm very sorry to the kind people who gave us these beautiful wedding gifts. Since I had no future being married, I gave them to someone who would use them. I only have been curious about the piece.💖💖💐💐💖💖

    I was lucky enough to find a Fenton Silver Crest, Single Horn Epergne. I also have an older, etched glass epergne that needs some work. The older epergne horns had a little metal cap that screwed them in place. Mine are missing their caps, so I have to find someone (a machinist, maybe) who can make them! It's a lovely piece.....

    • @MyTakeOnHomeGarden
      @MyTakeOnHomeGarden  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds wonderful ! I would constantly try different caps that are available ...like vanilla extract bottle or salt and peppers things like that...most things were made to a standard thread or diameter ! 👍😳💛🌷

      @rainbocatz6376 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MyTakeOnHomeGarden: except the threading needs to be in the outside. The metal pieces are missing, but it looks like someone tried to glue something on the horn bottoms, or maybe the metal caps were glued on. .. ...it's a large piece and really old. Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.
    🕊️💕Live righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏
    I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏
    Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey Your truth. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. Knowing truth from errors, discernment. 💕
    We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 🔥
    2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
    People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏
    Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
    He's worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
    Praise God hallelujah Jesus. In Jesus name. 🕊️ 💖🔥🙏
