As somebody who's been to Norway for weeks visiting and living with friends there. Sven Olsen and Henrik Kristof for instance, you do almost NONE of this on a daily basis. I know BS.. and you can't fool someone who spent 2 weeks living there and got to see the countryside up the coast, the inland areas, and all of Olso. You guys haven't done most of this, especially the cooking in any regular or normative way in many years. My associate, and former exchange student Sigurd also lived in the countryside in a small town. He is a computer builder and repairman. He cooks like viking NEVER. His family goes out on rare, festive occasions for stuff like this.
Ok. You've tried being a Viking Chef. Make a series out of this! Try being a Samurai Chef, a Vaquero Chef, a Hussar Chef, a Templar Chef, a Native American Warrior Chef. Exploring different historical traditions would be amazing!
@@WideLoad405 fair enough I looked it up and from where I am, a flight to japan is 3k imagine flying an entire camera crew. And possibly friends and your wife. It adds up. But you're right he is very successful and I'd love to see him go through with that kind of content.
@hyprinc.2233 hey, it'd be profitable for him. As entertaining as this video was, if all of them were like that and all of his subs like it as much as we did, those videos make him way more than what he'd spend making them. And he'd get to jet set all over the planet. I doubt he hasn't already thought of this. I'm hoping to see more.
As someone who grew up not too far from this Viking museum and now live a ways away, it's really nice to get to see the grounds again like this! Loved this video a lot!
I mean to be fair to go Viking was an action not a civilization. Going Viking included trading with the spoils and also just regular Merchant activity. SO trading the watch technically counts😅

@@DangerSquigglesIt's for the best. The thing about Norse Scandinavia is how little evidence there is as to how they live and given how large the area is no two places eat the same thing; even in the same place no two time periods have the same diet...
This is incredible, what a refreshing content. Who knows that a little bit of acting, cinematography, Viking setting, and real cooking comes together so well. Nonna video in Italy was already good, but this is even better.
I did not expect an American TH-camr of this magnitude to come to Norway when they wanted some Arctic experience, but this was awesome. My mother is actually from Vestvågøy where this was filmed, and I spend at least a few weeks a year there. It's not what the video's about, but you don't really even get to see the most magnificent mountains on the island, or the archipelago here.
Hi Josh, I’m new to your channel but just wanted to let you know, your videos make me happy, make me laugh and finally are getting me around to cooking!. Book purchased! Much success to you. Please consider making a video course (like a master class, domestika course etc)!
Norways is such a cool place. Really want to visit it again :) We were staying at some remote village with the locals & the host family had homemade ice cream. Some of the best stuff that I've ever tasted.
im so glad the thumbnail was accurate I was like he better be in Norway cooking outside honestly this is one of my fav one of your videos you should do more travel cooking series
Been wanting to visit that place for many years. It's not a long drive from where i live, but fuel is expensive... Nice to see you visit this little country.
Not going to lie. It tingles when someone I follow makes a video about my country. We are subtle and humble, us Norwegians... But we can't help but to feel a little pride when our American overlords deem us with the honor of their brief presence and shares it with the world.
dont remember if it was 2002 or 2003 i went there on a school trip. But we spent a week there, allot of hiking, learning to row the longboat. Allot of history guides and a visit to the local goat farm where we also learned to make goat cheese and brown cheese. the weather could have been alittle better as it was raining allot of the time. but was a good trip when i look back at it
The axe-throwing part of this video reminds me of that same format that Rhett and Link used to do on Good Mythical Morning. Joshua is like Rhett with his aim and skills (and hair too), and Nico is like Link, constantly missing the mark. And then Josh laughs at Nico just like Rhett sometimes laughs at Link. Wait, has Josh been watching that format of GMM? Because a lot of what he does in this video is really similar to how Rhett acts.
big fan josh! i started watching you from the sourdough vid back when you have 300k subs. now look at you! so glad you made it. much love from indonesia
I looooove this, I enjoy watching the challenge and was laughing the entire time! Been watching you for a while and I respect that you are changing things embracing the moments and continuously sharing your journey.. thank you ❤️
Hey, Vinland (the Viking reenactment group in Texas) is having an open house weekend event at Sheffield Park in Austin this weekend! Come on out and play, Joshua!
As a Norwegian myself, i can confirm that we all do this on a daily basis
Very true.
yes of corse,who doesent!?

Joshua should really make these high budget videos longer. This video could easily have been 18-20 min long and we’d love every second of it!
Joshua: [goes through intense labor and training to receive ancient Viking robe]
Nico: [buys one on a $60,000 bribe]
