    They didn’t put a LSD in this car probably as not to step on the M3 toes

  • @bwhobackk
    @bwhobackk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    I've got one of these and short of dropping over $2k on an LSD, if you swap in the rear subframe bushings from the M3, it is FAR less squirmy under power even with a bolt-ons and tune. Still not as good as the genuine article but a good step in the right direction.

    Very fun and informative review Dutch. I own a 2013 335is black on black and the car is very fun to drive the real issue I have with this car is that the red and blue lights that come on after a pull from the dig. The tail pipes will get you noticed by the fine men and women in blue. There is no law on how fast you can get to the speed limit as long as you do not squeal the tires. The 335is experience makes me feel power drunk i just want to boost the car all the time and they pull very hard. Time to invest in a high end detection unit something with stealth mode.

    This car really needs a legitimate rear diff, and it would be flawless! Still love my E92 335i, would love to upgrade into a 335is.

    I imported a low-milage DCT car 2-3 years ago. With MHD stage 2+ it has close to 400whp, and I had to get a Quaife LSD. Very, very fast car for it's age, price and ability to be a daily driver.

    Thank you for an informative video my friend. I am close to pulling the trigger on a 335IS. Do you have a shop you recommend in North Texas? I live in Allen. Plan on doing a lot of the maintenance myself but I do realize that there are things I should not mess with. Just trying to educate myself on BMW as I come from JDM. Keep up the good work. Thanks again

  • @mountainman5002
    @mountainman5002 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Nice review - but there are other differences between this and standard 335i - like additional cooling and better motor mounts. The verts get fog lights but the HT's don't for the extra air flow. And reviewer is 100% correct about the DCT - I MUCH prefer a standard and if it wasn't for the DCT in my 335is, I wouldn't own it unless it was a standard. The DCT is a lot of fun and in sport mode, the shifts bang hard.
    But what's up with your wiring harness situation above the motor - looks a little off/slanted. I replaced that entire cowl with an M3 unit from Europe.

    • @braedonpitts5522
      @braedonpitts5522 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was the car owner when this review was shot. The plastic holding that side of the harness broke off when I installed the intakes. The owner after me said the other side broke off as well. So far one car I regret selling!

  • @maxnix346
    @maxnix346 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    7th in DCT is 1:1. I also wish the differential was about 2.39.
    Rear differential is open with selective rear wheel braking supplied by ABS computer system with additional input from additional sensors.
    335is E93 have the fog lights, but not the pony radiator.
    Funny to see DCI sucking in preheated under hood air while leaving the factory CAI duct wide open so the engine compartment is back pressured thus reducing cooling flow. Too many sheep and not enough graduates of basic physics classes on the web fan boards.
