Reimu: Hi, we're lost. Can you give us directions? Marisa: If ya can't, get lost! Youmu: We need to get to Higan, and then to Hell. Urumi: D...Do you three have no idea how a river works? Marisa: Have you forgotten how Gensokyo works?
Urumi is definitely a...fan favorite character. Something I love about this game to death is its stage themes. Some of the consistently best stage themes in any Touhou game tbh (meaning there are better themes, but each stage theme is *consistently* good)
Art floods suggest otherwise on the first statement tbh. Even on Twitter, I feel like Kutaka had the most art, with how a lot more common it felt. And now with the full game, almost everyone is concentrated on the lategame characters, seeing as they're relatively new still. Gotta wait and see until time balances them out
@@Iris_Descent Well, Kutaka certainly has one of the best designs in the game, so I can see why so many people make arts out of her (still waiting for a art of her with The Legend of Zelda Cuckos attacking Link).
You know, the whole thing about prehistoric fish makes me realize that there's a lot of potential for making extinct animals appear in Gensokyo. I know ZUN's done it a little bit with characters like Kagerou, but when I first saw the title and theme of WBaWC, I kind of thought that would be the theme with the game's bosses. I am _conceptualizing_ a fangame (that may never become a reality) which is largely based on extinct or legendary creatures, though. It hasn't gotten very far, though.
I was thinking more extinct creatures, but some modern legendary monsters might be mixed in as well... ...and a joke character for a phantasm boss, if I decide to make it. Like I said, only some rough ideas.
Oh also, the funny UFO meme where you risk to get that red UFO oNLY TO GET A B L U E has now been fixed! -Goasts- Spirits near you slow down and don't change (this was also in UFO but the area for you to be close enough to the UFO was waaaaay too small). They also bounce around for a really, really, long time, and instead of yeeting off the screen, they gradually get fainter so you can tell which spirits are nearing their expiration date. Also improved from UFO, during dialogue, if you're in -trance mode- berserker mode, the bar doesn't shrink, so many players like collecting the spirits there to start off bosses with a full bar. During berserker mode, when you collect power items, point items, etc. , they automatically are "activated???" (you'll understand what I mean), and collecting spirits also lengthen the bar time, but not by much (I think). With Eagle and Wolf roaring berserker mode, your shot type is the boosted version of the respective spirit, unfocused or focused.
Oh wow, you're right. I was too busy looking... elsewhere at her design to even notice. I haven't been keeping good track, but this makes her the 5th [female] character that doesn't wear a skirt or dress, right? Along with Wriggle, Mokou, Ringo, and Aunn.
I always stay close to Urumi when fighting her as a boss, because her large bullets don't get larger close her, only when the bullets get out of her circle, they grow.
Well both Reimu, Marisa and Youmu have crossed the river before back in PoFV to fight Eiki. Youmu it's a bigger deal since it's her _job_ to know about this. Amusingly Urumi actually calls her out on it instigating the fight thinking Youmu must be an impostor cause "there's no way the gardener of the Netherworld doesn't know how to get to Higan". Youmu also said she should know... but has relied on Komachi too much to lead her around.
I hate her midboss because I can't for the life of me to react fast enough to her bullets so I prefer to sit back and ram her with a Roar >_> At least her boss fight isn't thaat bad. And I like that in at least one scenario (I think the Otter?) the girls actually tried to hold the stone baby if dialogue is anything to go by.

@@Iris_Descent Well depends on where you look. Kutaka definitely has a lot of *ordinary* fan art.

I'm still waiting for someone to draw her with a Torchic
Probably because of those gigantic knockers of hers...

That's actually super cool, dude!
Meanwhile, I'm currently conceptualizing a fangame(?) with Megaman mechanics. It hasn't gotten far either.
Like mythical creatures? From which culture are you taking them? I'm really interested now...

If you're still considering making it, Bigfood would be a fantastic phantasm boss idea I think.
I just LOVE how the stage theme loops right as you finish with the stage
imagine if urumi got into a fighting game, she could throw her stone baby as an attack
Omg yesss! *YEETUS THE STONE BABUSS*

Moooo mooo momomoooo moooo
I once get that weird cow spirit cuz of my curiosity of ‘is the eagle roar’s laser seperated?’

OH MY GOD I JUST NOTICED!!! Urumi wears pants! *le gasp*
...um, I'm pretty sure those are shorts.
@@goodgizmo8132 I mean that's it's not a dress or skirt

MarisaEagle makes life so easy. Piercing lasers help you fly by the first couple of stages.
But i dont like how marisaeagle is an asshole
marisa and youmu never cross the sanzu that's why they're lost but i don't know why reimu is lost in the sanzu since she was ever meet eiki before

Yup, MariOtter at the end of the fight is all like "That thing was supposed to be heavy? Oh... I didn't realize..." or somethin' like that
*Got Milk?*
Urumi is confirmed NOT a diva right?
Oh definitely not, the horns are more cow than oni. She's a youkai called a Ushi-oni
which are usually depicted as a giant spider with a cow's head.
@@MegamanOmega184 that's fucked up, yo.
ngl I find this stage pretty boring
Ugh the next one is even worse... why does the best WBaWC character have to suffer from having the most boring stage 3 ever
its fun to me (because of the music)
How? You get a moo with big boob-
