    Great video. I've been coming to Thailand since 2001 and have just landed here a few days ago for my latest stay. This might be the one where I apply for the retirement visa . . . . a question: I plan to remain in Bangkok and make my application here. I may be contacting your agency soon. Many thanks for the information here.

    Great video and tool! Really well explained.
    I'm a UK citizen and was keen to visit Thailand for 90 days. Thinking of getting the 60 day tourist visa and then getting the 30 day extension.
    Quick question: When submitting flight tickets for the initial 60 day visa application, does the return flight need to be within the 60 days only? Or can I book the return for 90 days after arrival, and mention that I'll be looking to extend when in Thailand? Not sure if that will be accepted.

    I had a 60 day visa, starting last September 1. I was planning on flying out in October 31 but had to leave a week earlier because my brother suddenly died My long term plan is to move to Thailand permanently with my Thai wife in 4 years. Until then, I plan on spending my winters 3-5 months at our house in Chiangmai. If I get a visa and have to return to the U.S. because of an illness or death (I have 5 more older siblings), does that cancel the visa out and I would have to reapply before coming back? If so, I may be saying my goodbyes before starting my winter trips to Thailand.

    • @thaikru
      @thaikru  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Condolences about your brother. If you get a marriage/retirement visa, you can get something called a "re-entry permit" and your visa will not be cancelled if you go out of Thailand. Tourist visas are cancelled anyway as they are mostly for a single entry.

      If only 60 days you do not need a visa. You can just enter Thailand with your USA passport, then get a 30 day extension after 30 days. If you want to spend up to 90 days, then you can apply for a tourist visa before coming to Thailand.

      Both are equally good. To stay for 90 days, get a 60 day visa, then when you come, a 30 day extension. That's your 90 days right there.

    You said "SCUBA" is considered [Education]. I spoke with a Scuba center on Koh Tao, they said Thailand doesn't consider Scuba as Education for this Visa. Did this change????
    I am going to Thailand for Divemaster program that will take between 9 months and year..I could use this Education Visa.
    Otherwise o was told to get either STV or tourist visa and get extensions amd border runs.

    • @thaikru
      @thaikru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, according to official Thai consulate websites its available. I am not sure if that has changed recently, but we will check it out to be sure: thaiembdc.org/consular-services/tourist-visas/tourist-visa-category-tr-boxingyoga-training/

    • @basildubose
      @basildubose 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey great! Thanks for the info, but I'm a little confused. An Education Visa is for a year, yet this says it's only for 60 days. That's just a normal Tourist Visa. Which can be extended once for 30 days and then a border run.
      How is this any different from just a normal Tourist Visa...maybe I'm misunderstanding something????

    • @thaikru
      @thaikru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Education visas can come in different length. It depends on the course of study. Generally you start with 90 days and then get an extension for the length of the study itself - which can be up to a year. Example you do a thai course for 6 months only. You would not get more then 6 month stamp. The immigration officer will check your paperwork from the school to decide how much you get. There is not "automatic 1 year education visa".
