Finally, Playable Elites are back!
Took the words out of my mouth. The second a dedicated box comes out for them, I’m buying 2
I'm buying 3, cause Elites are cool!
I’m picking it up just for that ❤
lol nice!
They did something 343 devs couldn’t do, and just like that ima buy it
I would love to see box sets for Fire teams we know of like Blue Team, Noble Team, and Osiris. Toss in some ODST for flavor and I am 100% dedicating a portion of my game room to this.
Could do an Alpha Nine set, which is Buck's current ODST-turned-S IV team after Bad Blood. Gretchen (Dutch's wife and also former ODST) fill in for the Rookie.
I would much *much* rather play ODSTs over Spartans for sure. I'll probably end up playing either way, though.
@@wyatttyson7737Or even simple Marines. That'd be awesome.
A dedicated Elites box will sell soooo well. Those minis look great.
Agreed, I'd be all over a covenant force box, I'll take 5 please!
I need to play the elites in 40k
@@williams7713I just ended up painting my Tau as covenant lol
I'll admit i was looking forward to building a covenant and UNSC army however, this does look pretty great
Their GCPS troopers are like, 85-90% there as UNSC marines.
They are my favorite scifi guard models, I just wish they were more in scale with 40K and I’d have a guard army of them.
no it tf does not, its so damn boring and has few points of interest
Extremely excited about this! I’ll be pre ordering soon! I really love the way you guys made the arena board look reminiscent of Halo’s unsc multiplayer maps
You had me at table top Oddball. Wanted a set to paint but now I want to play!
Deadzone is a phenomenal ruleset, so this seems an incredibly smart move. Halo theme, modes, and added rules will definitely make it feel distinct from Deadzone.
For those complaining about it not being an army-scale game. I totally understand the sentiment, however, that game was already made (admittedly at a weird model scale) by a different business that rather promptly cease to exist.
This instead has the genuine potential to appeal a bit to people who are curious about miniature war games and into the video game, but unable to take the leap into an army-scale game. If the game gains good momentum, I’m sure it would be a straightforward move to then release an army scale game.
Mantic you’re smashing it, please continue to do so.
I hope that's the plan, that if this gets popular enough we get a proper legion or 40k style army builder. Halo has the potential for it, I just hope the fanbase is still here!
I already see small tweaks to make it more a hero game. Shields, more HP, more equipment to get. Cool.
1/100 wasn’t a weird model scale it was very smart for referencing Halos vehicle heavy gameplay. Would like to how the could fit anything bigger than a ghost fit in this game.
Also, the reason why spartan games ceased to exist was basically that the owner was hospitalized with cancer and almost died. Which put the company on the backburner and with Microsofts heavy licensing fees basically killed it. Microsoft even forced the owner out of sickbed just so he could be present when the molds and product left in the spartan inventory was liquidated/destroyed.
@@gottagainzlmao8940 That is not correct. The company was living on borrowed time and money long before the owner's health issues. 10 years of barely scraping by, constant incompetent decisions (making more new games instead of focusing on existing ones, Dystopian Legions being a huge proprietary 35mm scale instead of the normal 28/32mm scaling which killed nearly all of their potential crossover sales to people wanting the models for other games), quality control issues that persisted across all their model ranges (which at one point, they blamed on a contract casting company, and then took production in-house and it actually became a lot worse because they had no idea what they're doing), never doing errata for their rules and many, many other bad choices. Their final nail in the coffin was taking out a massive loan to get the IP and make the models for two Halo games at the same time and then completely botching that with terrible design choices on the Halo: Ground Command models, which led to their worst quality control problems yet. The single peg mount for 15mm scaled models was just flat out dumb, and it was the source of 100% of the parts breakages on infantry models, and in some cases, 100% model breakage within a pack. They weren't even able to get packs to retail because they had to replace so much broken product. The fact they even made it to 10 years before final collapse is an anomaly, but the owner just kept taking out loan after loan to prop the business up with the next big exciting game. And he did that until they had 8 games, with a 9th and 10th in planning, to somehow be managed by a company of barely a dozen people.
@@wolfehoffmann2697 Interesting, I worked for Spartan Games for a small time and at one point, they were doing OK. Sadly, Neil did suffer from new toy syndrome, instead of focusing, he also didn't deligate very well, he had to have oversight on everything. Just part and parcel of people being different and unique. Microsoft's licensing fees were incredibly high - 20% of every sale (that's every BOX or BLISTER) went to them and I think he mentioned just to get 343/Microsoft to the table required £150-200k. They were also very hands on and required Neil to be on 4am Zoom Calls constantly just to change a vent on a ship, or if they didn't like how a rule played. This then led on to other problems etc. Sadly it all got too much and then the illnesses came.
Very intriguing. I appreciate that the cards aren't clustered with colour and superfluous designs. Making the information clearly legible.
Love the Elites also. Going to be fun having a go at painting energy swords. Hopefully there'll be an entire team of the true warriors in Halo. I speak of the grunts of course.
Looking forward to seeing some how to plays and battle reports.
Agreed. It's nice to have, especially in games like Warhammer where there is heaps of info. I'm curious to see how this game feels to play. I would hope it isn't repetitive.
Ok, it's Halo-thened DeadZone. That's awesome, BUT, I'm waiting for the other factions and Halo-themed Firefight. While I wait, I'll play Firefight, DeadZone, Halo Flashpoint, Epic Warpath, Kings of War, and Armada.
I just want full out halo battles, I would live to be able to have battles similar to ones in the lore
Yeah, why flat out lie to call it a whole new game when you've been designing and hyping this system for over a decade? And this is from Mantic directly, why not just be honest with the player base about what to expect for game support and longevity?
As a long-time halo fan and of the table-top hobby this game has my interest. The models look absolutely gorgeous and have recreated the Halo Infinite aesthetic really well. I can see so much potential for possible future model releases as well!
Thank you - feedback like this is awesome to hear!
You had me at Halo, this is a good year to be miniature gamer!
That terrain looks absolutely stunning!
Thank you!
I'll be making a Spartan edition pre order next month, so excited! Hoping for some ODST minis later on!
I was a bit worried it was just gonna be 4 or 6 Spartans, and nothing else.
I am glad we got more, and even happier and excited about the fact we can get Elite models. Hopefully we get more types of models later on.
Looking forward to seeing what comes next
I have to admit, I'm definitely interested. And those models look ace!
What an absolute coincidence and a surprise! I bought the Master Chief Collection during Steam Spring Sale and am watching the new HALO tv show to see what's up. And now MANTIC is releasing a brand new game that looks absolutely amazing. Thank you! 😎✨
Played a little game while at Adepticon and it was really fun! can't wait to get my hands on a copy.
Deadzone-esque with Halo thrown in. I don't hate that. Deadzone is a good game. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more.
My biggest concern is it even deadzone-"esque"... it looks like and sounds exactly like deadzone at the moment... a few new rules / keywords but ... I guess I was expecting something different... I don't dislike deadzone at all... but... Halo the Deadzone Reskin isn't the same as an all new Halo game... but yeah... models and terrain look great and I guess if I already have a lot of deadzone terrain there is MORE reason to pick this up!!!
Oh I get your completely. I was hoping for something else but for now I'll take this. Hopefully if it does well then we'll get some kind of full fledged Halo tabletop game. I'd definitely be down for that.
Halo Deadzone! Looks very focused on the multiplayer game. Hopefully there's room for narrative stuff with more factions as well.
Yes! We need some narrative/coop play to make this a more full experience. I would easily pay for an expansion like that.
I would like some more banished or covenant figures like grunts or Jakals I think it would be cool to maybe make small campaigns
I missed out on Ground Command. . . I feel I mustn't miss this!
Im not really into table top games but if they make more i might buy it just for the scenery pieces and use them for my halo mega construx, i imagine i could make some pretty cool displays
I hope this game does well! I know Spartan Games did Halo games, and they went under (not sure why). It looks really solid and feeds into the skirmish style of games that are popular!
Thanks, glad you like it!
This looks sick! Looking forward to seeing more about how it plays
deadzone is a fantastic game that needs more eyes on it. I hope that this collaboration with Halo helps out Mantic's future
Most exited I’ve been for HALO in years! One of the coolest ideas I’ve ever seen from the franchise!
Watched a game demo at Adepticon this year, although I didn’t get a chance to play, I thought it looked really fun, and the models look super fun to paint! I’m excited for this one
Ordered spartan ed. Im so excited to get some games in!
Impressive! MOST Impressive!
My son and I have wanted to try a game like this but pricing and learning curve have been too intimidating with Warhammer for example. This looks like the one to learn though. Let's goooooo!
Warhammer is not a beginners game. These rules (deadzone) are brilliant.
These are based on Deadzone, which is a very friendly game to beginners
Look at games from OnePageRules, Frostgrave/Stargrave, and Gaslands for cheaper and easier alternatives to Warhammer. OnePageRules can be played completely for free (unless you count the cost of printing paper minis) and Gaslands can be played with matchbox/hotwheels and some stuff from around the house. xxxGrave gamebooks cost about $30 and are figure agnostic so you can use whatever you have/like which could help keep costs down. Each system I mentioned above all have medium- to light-weight rules and OnePageRules Grimdark Future has been considered by a lot of people to be a Warhammer Lite.
Looks like a more beginner-friendly version of Deadzone with a Halo theme, makes sense! Are there any plans to make the terrain in plastic later on?
Hi Christian, we've got a hard plastic terrain pack on the website (haloflashpoint.com) - complete with a bunch of new components that have been designed with Halo universe textures.
I like this a lot so far, fast-paced tactical play , with beginner support. So here for it!
So pumped for this game!!! Will be watching this closely! Friend of mine saw this and met you all at GAMA Expo and was super impressed!
Heck yeah! Can't way to engage in some classic Spartans vs Elites combat! Love the terrain too!
I bought the spartan version as soon as I saw pre orders were live, glad you put this video out too. Seeing it now I know iv'e spent my £100 well. Will be making a video on this soon
As someone who just got into 40k a few months ago, I've gained the skills required to paint those minis up properly. So now it's this AND the Cyberpunk Edgerunners tabletop game I'm gonna be buying for minis (and to play if I can find folks who want to do so).
I’m very intrigued by this.
Looks really interesting.
Looks exciting! Looks like the squares are 3 inch squares. I am planning to make terrain for my community so we can hit the ground running with this game. Is it safe to say I should make everything in 3inch increments so it plays well with the game mechanics?
3” cubes is right 👍🏼
Just search for Deadzone board ideas, they are all 3" cube boards
How are you gonna do this, I wanna make terrain too but idk how to mark the squares
@@Orihutcherson There are plenty of companies that make print files for tiles at 2 inches and 4 inches. I am going to have my printer guy scale the tiles to be 3x3. Apart from that, I also have a friend who designs stls that is going to slowly make some basic urban road tiles sized at 3x3.
I am still working out how I want to make more natural looking terrain with the lines without them ruining the look of the board.
@@TheMiniatureManager yeah that’s what I meant, I want to make a natural terrain type board and I just wonder if making 64 individual tiles is too impractical
As a 40k and Kill Team player utterly alienated by GWs business model I am excited for this. Already preordered Spartan Edition!
Preordered in Australia.
Super keen!
Also @ManticGames - if you have any specials you'd like to add to the order, ill message you my order number ;)
Do I make the cheque out to you or Ronnie? I think I need to see about just setting up a Direct debit at this rate haha
I’m sure we can come to an arrangement 😉
This looks great! Can’t wait to see more. Especially incorporating the multiplayer settings from the video games. Really looking forward to this.
I absolutely love the in-universe allowance to customize your troops however you want. Like, you can absolutely pain up some hot pink Space Marines with mint accents if you *want* but with a Spartan it kind of just makes sense haha
Also the small scale playing area is a HUGE selling point for a fast paced skirmish game
Spartan edition it is!
(but I still won't paint my models)
cube hello!
Hell yes!!! Glad to see you getting this brother 🍻
Hell yes!!! Glad to see you getting this brother 🍻
Just pre ordered the spartan box! Can’t wait for the box to eventually arrive! The models look so great and I see such high quality has been put into it. Job well done, Mantic
Yesss, minis are pre assembled! I like assembling my Star Wars Shatterpoint minis but being able to just store the halo ones in the box is huge
The only issue is I can't immediately get my hands on it
Looks great, I can’t wait to get my hands on this. Spartans never die!
Awesome elites were my favorite
I watched this today an hour later the preorder drops. Totally ordered the spartan edtion. Can't wait to play this.
Very exciting! Glad to see Halo on the tabletop again
That terrain is obscenely good. Both sets for me I think.
I’m definitely interested and willing to buy it now for some battle reports.
Wow, so many characteristics shared with Deadzone, my only *hope* will be that these models can be cross compatible! Other than that, amazing job, Mantic! You're one of two miniature companies I trust to deliver what people want: great game design at an affordable price point.
Oh yeah! I'm super hype for this game! Can't wait until I can get my hands on the pieces!
Exciting! Great overview, thanks Andy.
Buying the spartan edition right off the bat, the game looks super fun!
Deffo going to make my own minis for this too, very excited! Great work!
This looks fantastic, super excited!
"You had me at hello"
[Want to know more intensifies]
ooh, Ive heard Deadzone is a solid ruleset. the Halo license on a great engine sounds awesome, and that pre made card terrain looks great . Cant wait to get a set (or two!)
Would be great to see coloured clip on bases (red/blue) so each model can be painted in a unique way and you can easily tell which side is which.
So excited to try this and see how you can customize fire teams! I wonder if you can mix and match elites and Spartans
Not between fireteams no, but there will be more options in future for swapping fireteam members in and out to build out some interesting gameplay synergies...
Man. I was really hoping to hear it was going to campaign related material. I want to take a team of Spartans or ODSTs to the Covenant
They have alluded to the covenant and flood potentially coming in the future.
banished are already here! no doubt they will make more if this sells well
fantastic, the idea of playing like Deadzone seems very successful to me
I just love that this will help with getting people into Mantic games. I love Firefight but not many players in my area, going to be a great gateway drug for Deadzone/Firefight
im down we just discovered deadzone at my local and digging it
Yes! Looks awesome!
Nice. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this. Spartan box is what I'll be after.
Super cool, I have my spartan edition pre-ordered! Can't wait.
Anyone else already planning Red vs Blue themed missions? Sarge and Caboose vs a freelancer. Sign. Me. Up.
This looks really cool
Looks very interesting, want to see a battle report yesterday 😉
Wait.....is it gonna be halo with deadzone rules????
Sure seems like it
And Infinity terrain 😂
Deadzone ruleset as the foundation + Halo universe + game updates. It's a fantastic mix, and really 'feels like Halo' - we're very proud of how it plays and will show loads more in the near future!
@@manticgames longshot, but will we see the Prometheans added down the line? Just want a massively overpowered warden eternal, and be interesting to have the random warp mechanics of the promethean soldiers
Looks very promising! Can't wait to get it!
Super glad I can customize my minis color palette.
Can't wait to paint those
Love Deadzone, this looks like a must-have! My partner would love to cover it on her hobby asmr channel.
Yo Mantis, had something of an idea you might get a kick out of. Lets be real, spartans are practically the face of halo, but thats mainly due to the Master Chief. So what about playable marines or ODSTs? ODSTs in particular let's say wouldn't have as much movement or health, but would come in bigger squads lets say? And can pick their respawn points through use of their drop pods? Although regular marines could operate in a similar way just without the respawn point thing but in exchange would have access to power weapons from the start? Or how about vehicles for that matter? First wound up finding my footing in CTF as a high risk taxi cab be it a falcon to mongeese to even ghost and banshee surfing. Granted those last two wouldn't exactly be applicable to gameplay but still.
Red vs. Blue, classic!
Had to be done!
I will be playing this
Looking forward to my demo, Andy ;)
Looks like I'll be getting the Spartan edition 😊
Interesting. I was hoping for a more 40K style game or a replacement for the discontinued Halo Ground Command, but I'll keep an eye on this.
Honestly it's everything I hoped it would be and did not expact this kind of video so soon! Which it seems like a great mix up of infinity, World of tanks minis and Battletech! Which my main concen is how the cubes are handled like are they just the spartan/playable elite models or a bit bigger? Which is fine though the map does not show them well so for gun ranges(If any) or just max movement it will be hard to plan and judge... Also my games have been using a similar Machic called spaces since 2019 and I kinda got it from Battletech and other hex games especly virtual ones like Xcom so not that innovative... Though it's good to see it in other games and it is rare to see!
Thanks! Cubes are 3" on each edge, so you very quickly start to see the board in 3D between the gridlines on the mat and the edges of the surrounding buildings! Effectively you're counting spaces for movement and shooting, and introduced nice simple rules for cover. We've basically eliminated the 'argument phase' that's common in skirmish games with tape measures!
Hopefully we'll see more Covenant units. I wanna throw Grunts into a Spartan lmao
Looks amazing!
Good evening, this is probably an exhibition model, but from what I see the poses of the characters of the red team and the blue team are identical. And on the web page, even if there seems to be more variety, it's just the weapon that changes between certain figurines (see even position of the legs for torso turned otherwise). I understand the choice not to do multipart for accessibility, but could there be a greater visible variety of character poses?
I love painting miniatures, but I hate painting pre assembled ones. The guns get in the way of chest plates and such. So excited to get my hands on this, though slightly disappointed my paint job will be more difficult
Looks great!
this looks like loads of fun, but I was kind of hoping for more of a wargame type of ruleset with this, with vehicles and larger forces etc. Always prefered Big Team Battle to regular Slayer myself ;) here's hoping this is successful enough to warrant expanding on the product line or using the halo license in a bigger game type!
Hello ! I preodered my spartan editio but I was wondering is there any plan for an official french traduction in the future ? If so, do you think it will be possible to order the trad afterward without having to buy an entirely new box ?
I cant wait to use these for a Dnd halo campaign
I hope they'll be bringing in some Flood models
This game is incredibly fun and fast-paced, all be it we don't have full ruleset, but man, those demos at Adepticon2024 got the heart racing.
I backed very shortly after my demo!
Excited to grow the community. My hope is we can make a large group of dedicated Flashpoint Gamers. Would love to see events at Adepticon2025!
Can't wait for this 🤩
All I know is that I need this.
The terrain looks easy to make.
Looks fun!
Very cool 😎
