Man you were watching from such an early point, I really appreciate that thank you! It's weird - what you're describing I felt the same way about to smaller YTers about 10 years ago, it's why I started doing it in the first place! Weird to come to this place for that reason XD Thanks so much for watching
Man, watching old Germany and no mods, really took me back to the early days of Civ! Germany was my favorite back then. Lovely gameplay as always, Ursa! Also, cheeky sponsor, eh? Congrats :D
I’m really happy you got a sponsor like them!!! I’ve followed you since you were a teeny tiny channel. Well done. It’s a hard thing to be consistent and it’s harder to be consistently good. Congrats ursa
40k and another sponsored video, well done! It's nice to see these series leaning heavily into the Civs theme, especially the older ones that have been somewhat outclassed by newer Civs. I think Initiation Rites is just too weak to ever take seriously though. This whole game it will have earned Ursa one risk free barb camp clearance. If it worked on barbs, city states and free cities I'd be all for it but just about anything else would have been a better choice. (This is a problem with Civ6 Pantheon balance rather than Ursa game play BTW - I appreciate wanting to mix things up, not taking optimal choices every game etc)
cool to see brilliant advertising at your channel, i've been a long member not only of your channel, but of many others that they support. Considering that you're one of the few that actually make my day after the job easier i'll try their subscription offer with your name. As always, thank you ursa, greetings from south of Brasil
I was kicking myself in a game where I got Sinbad early that I had not picked it. Would have made it a LOT easier to keep Sinbad alive and earning me more gold.
To quote Voltaire “The Holy Roman Empire was not Holy, not Roman and not an Empire”. Now Frederick The Great and Prussia that is another matter. Most country have an army but Prussia was an army with a country
OG Germany game, yay. I finally started playing civ again after a hiatus. Started it with me Kongo for a fun relic voidsinger game to get back in the groove.
I don't think I've ever seen that pantheon being picked. Didn't even know about the extra healing part. But that's why I'm here, to see some cool and unique stategies.
Well desrved mate with the sponspor best civ 6 SP content and the consistency of uploading everyday is as crazy grind mate and I love to play along mate Looking foward to this one landing on discord
At the start where you where saying "we're holy, we're roman and we're emperor, except we're not roman, we're german" comes quite close to a thing my history teacher said "the holy roman empire, which was neither holy, nor roman, nor an empire"
"I DON'T want barbarians to run thru me." WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE REAL URSA!??!!?!?!? But but but its a Ursa hallmark to have his warrior halfway across the world, then have a bunch of barbs just rock up saying "Mighty nice city you got there, be a shame if someone BROKE IT!!" I am gonna have to rethink my whole outlook on life...or at least this game :)
Your people (and the leader you roleplay as) know of the horses, but it is not until the discovery of animal husbandry that anyone realises their significance as a strategic resource (how this translates to a campus doubling as a horse farm because horses lived there before the campus was built, is its own story).
Alternatively: horses are invented with the tech, which causes your scientists to build them out of sticks and mud in locations astrologically predetermined.
6:57 I have to disagree with you on that one my bear. I think Mt. Vesuius is one the best starting wonders this game can possibly give you. It might blow 3 or 4 times in the first 100 turns and you want that to happen!! Id say losing a few pops here and there is a minuscule price to pay for having a bunch of 5 5 volcanic soil tiles in the first 100 turns.
the issue is that I want to district a wonder rather than work the tiles - I don't mind the odd eruption but Vesuvius does MASSIVE pop damage - I've seen it wipe half a cities pop in one go on several occasions. Not good for a pingala capital!
@@UrsaRyan It certainly is a destructive wonder to your pops if you aren't working the food tiles off it, that's for sure. I suppose you put a higher priority on getting more districts over raw yields like I do.
my pc broke so had to get a cheap chromebook, so signed up to xcloud gaming to play civ 6. prob is its the base game atm as have to pay wedge for update bundle (apart from being console version) so no golden ages or governor bonuses. the doubling of culture from pingala would literally take me 30 odd turns to build 3 theatre squares + amphitheatres and lose production on other stuff. how did anyone win on deity on base game? nuts
Haha - any boost that you're guarenteed to get yourself is bad imo - foreign trade just needs a 2nd continent, and I think I found one literally a couple of turns later XD
@@UrsaRyan it's not guaranteed, depending on map size. And sometimes it just takes too long to find a second continent since many civ players like to rush early empire for open borders gold and the first governor. I'd argue it's easier(/more guaranteed) to find 3 city states and boost political philosophy, same with founding a pantheon for the other civic that I can't recall the name of right now. Also, you have more time to boost those civics since they appear further into the civic tree. So imo those inspirations are worse in at least 95% of cases.
it makes me so sad you didnt settle the tea, you want to go aqueducts anyways for you hanza the extra science and the 2/2 tile you could of worked from the start of the game would have let you get online much faster and could of saved some gold from the tile purchases.
As long as I see your strategy of crusading city state, could be a bad idea spreading your religion through papal primacy and improve further buying missionaries and apostle cheaper? 🤣🤣🤣

It's awesome you're getting sponsors! Keep growing man!
i like how u integrate the sponsor ad into your vid.
Seamless and unintrusive, not to mention channel relevant...
damn, congrats on your first sponsor! (If this is your first one, maybe I missed others). I remember watching you with
Also, I'm actually aspiring to study computer science and mathematics at university, So I may check out the site myself haha

I didn’t expect Brilliant here. That was a seamless transition.

Thanks so much! It's been a lot of work but I'm very grateful to enjoy it = )
A very nice sponsorship integration, didn't see it coming
Smooth, huzzah!
I like how your pantheon is Initiation Rites and your first 2 holy sites are next to an active volcano.
Into the volcano with you!

Haha yes this is not a good pantheon. I couldn't help myself though and I'm glad we did it!
29:00 not only that, but destroying citystates with Germany is a hard counter in the long run to Greeces Culture 😅
Oh we're going to hard counter Greece today!! XD
Love Germany and Frederick! Got my fist Deity Domination victory with him (along with your tutelage). Brilliant! 😏

That's super sweet, but thanks for watching generally = ) Looking forward to hopefully playing Brazil again soon!
Congrats on the first sponsor!!
Cheers = )
9:50, that was a sweet ninja move on that barbarian camp.
Was it the most optimum play? No. Was it utterly satisfying? Oh yes
£475 - The founder and CEO of Brilliant, Sue Khim, may have studied at the University of Sankore.
Frederick answers the question, what if Garfield the cat became a Holy Roman Emperor?
Never used that Pantheon in my life! I love how often you mix it up
Let's be honest the reason you never used it is because it is terrible, you maybe get the benefit once or twice at most.
I was kicking myself in a game where I got Sinbad early that I had not picked it. Would have made it a LOT easier to keep Sinbad alive and earning me more gold.

Have you tried the "great rivers" mod? It would make for a great series. (it makes navigable rivers that affect some districts adjencies)
not yet! need to check it out
Awesome sauce! Brilliant video idea ... and now with a sponsor! Congrats Ursa.
cheers = )

That isn’t reassuring
@UrsaRyan There is a certain AI mod that may just transport you to a (Holy) Roman Holiday (particularly around the atomic era)
nice, sponsor!!!
Ursa Ryan taking the worst pantheons in the game, so we don't have to.

I like the alternate path a lot
I know taking city-states is great. Mostly free, already established city just ripe for the taking but it just feels wrong.
Search your feelings. You know it to be true
@@UrsaRyan NOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's impossible! It can't be the right choice to annex Preslav!
I used Frederick to easely make steongest possible vampire by destroying citystates' units

what UI mods are you all using?
whats the mod that colors the drawings on the map in the fog of war?
I agree, I have never restarted a bad start

Pillaging! Don't build it yourself, just take it from other people =)
Attacking barbarians the turn you unlock chiefdom without first enabling discipline, rookie mistake
A good buff for this Germany would be he gets the total benefits of the city states he captures
That would be so much fun!

Haha - any boost that you're guarenteed to get yourself is bad imo - foreign trade just needs a 2nd continent, and I think I found one literally a couple of turns later XD

Same, always enjoyed playing Germany!

I think this was actually my first! had I seen babylon so close I would have been tempted to restart hilariously - they can be so rough!

Crushing the Vesuvius tiles with districts that are going to be constantly smoking and need rebuilding hurts my head.
luckily germany is very good at rebuilding things!
