    ----------------------------------------------------
    Sheepdog
    Standing in the rain
    Bullfrog
    Doing it again
Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
What makes you think you're something special when you smile?
    Child-like
    No one understands
    Jack knife
    In your sweaty hands
Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears
    You can talk to me
    You can talk to me
    You can talk to me
If you're lonely you can talk to me
    Hedgehog
    Living in the sand
    Leapfrog
    Giving him a hand
Some kind of attitude is measured out inside
You think you're going but you haven't got a ride
    You can talk to me
    You can talk to me
    You can tal to me
If you're lonely you can talk to me
    Big man
    Walking in the park
    Wigwam
    Frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you
You think you know me but you haven't got a clue
    You can talk to me
    You can talk to me
    You can talk to me
If you're lonely you can talk to me
    Wahoo woof! Woof!
    Hey bulldog! Hey bulldog!
    Hey bulldog! Hey bulldog!
    Hey man, what's that boy?
    Woof!
    What do you say?
    I said "woof!"
    You know anymore?
    Wooaah ha ha ha!
You've got it, that's it, you had it!
    That's it, man, woo!
    That's it! You've got it!
Don't look at me man, I only have ten children
Ah ho! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
    Quiet boy, quiet!
    Okay
    Quiet!
    Hey bulldog!
    Hey bulldog!
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Fanny was an American all-female band, active in the early 1970s. They were one of the first notable rock groups to be made up entirely of women, the third to sign with a major label (after Goldie & the Gingerbreads and the Pleasure Seekers), and the first to release an album on a major label (in 1970). They achieved two top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and released five albums.
Sisters June Millington (born April 14, 1948, Manila, Philippines) and Jean Millington (born May 25, 1949, Manila, Philippines) moved with their family from the Philippines to Sacramento, California in 1961. In high school they formed an all-girl band called the Svelts with June on guitar, Jean on bass, Addie Lee on guitar, and Brie Brandt on drums. Brandt was later replaced by Alice de Buhr (born September 4, 1949, Mason City, Iowa). When the Svelts disbanded, de Buhr and Lee formed another all-female group called Wild Honey. The Millington sisters later joined this band, which played Motown covers and eventually moved to Los Angeles.
In January 1970, Nickey Barcley was asked to join Fanny as a singer and keyboardist. She was one of the main songwriters and lead singers in the group, and appeared on all their albums, adding soul, blues and funk influences to the group's overall sound.

@@user-en6tz3iy1z In the context of the time it was unusual to have all-women bands who played instruments as well as singing. (Even single female instrumentalists in otherwise all-male bands, such as Honey Lantree of The Honeycombs or Megan Davies of The Applejacks were considered novelties.) There would have been a kind of irrational prejudice against it among many people.

Racism and sexism? Maybe from inside the music industry, but all my stoner, white boy friends loved them because they rocked hard. Nobody gave a sht about their gender or ethnicity. Saw them open for Mountain and went the next day and bought their album. Then saw them 2 more times, afterwards.
Whenever there was a party Fanny was right in the stack with ELP, Hendrix, Stones, Beatles, Zeppelin, Who, Spooky Tooth, James Gang, J. Geils, etc. We had a nine LP turntable. When they were done we'd just flip them over.

@Stephen Beck-von-Peccoz they weren't musical geniuses is a point that I would grant you. I also wished that they had produced more original material. But they deserve more credit than they received. Think about the rock world when they were playing. I can't think of any other groups which were all women. They weren't taken seriously by many because of their gender, and always fighting that battle is hard work. With more support they might have been able to develop their sound and skills.

I believe this video is of significant cultural importance. Fanny had their own great songs and each one an exceptional musician. Plus musical sisters have some supernatural connection. But all of them are connected by their natural selves of women making music. The power in that connection is demonstrated by their version of this great song, that everybody had heard the Beatles do a bunch of times. Girl Powered Rock and Roll can lead us all to a better tomorrow.

Obviously people did hear of and hear "Fanny" in their day. They were afforded many airplays, media appearances, promotions and articles. They sold large numbers of records, but not as many as eg.: "The Beatles" who originated "Hey Bulldog".
IMHO: "Sexism" is a powerful word, best not scattered about without due context.

They were quite well known in their day, played together for six years, had two top 40 hits and recorded five albums which received favorable and often glowing reviews from major rock critics. The last few years they've been getting a lot of attention because of general interest in the era. This is a cool version of Hey Bulldog. I was around then and playing music professionally in the States. Among my peers, both women and men, they were considered to be a solid rock band that did a mix of covers and originals. I never sensed any sexism in the press or elsewhere in regard to Fanny.

No, we can’t. For a start, this was 50 years ago, the musicianship is at best adequate, and they’re doing a cover of a pretty forgettable Beatles song. What else did they do? And let’s not forget that Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Queen were also doing the rounds at this time, against which this band look like rank amateurs.

Every one of these Fanny tracks that re-emerges is more slappin' than the last one. What treasure.

Sacramento, CA based band. I watched them play when I was a teen. My sister's band, "She" used to open for them.

Every couple of years I come across a gem here on TH-cam. 2023 has now been crossed off. I came across this 2 days ago and watched it, without a lie, at least 100 times. The musicians, the sound, the vibe. Also, 1:30 that wiggle. It's like the bass is playing her. In the process now of sourcing their back catalogue on cd or vinal if available. No bands like this anymore.
