Yep hiding it from the wife that is always the hard part as they always have a way of finding what we spent loads of money on good luck hope it works for you I am trying to figure my next purchase around that same idea
It took my wife 7 years plus to find I had replaced my old grt lt with the galaxy99v2 I now have the grant was in storage waiting on the trip to repair one of the push buttons for cb/ pa pressed in and broke ,she actually took it the 60+ miles to the states best repair shop ( 50 years anniversary this year that radio was from his 25 anniversary ) in 2000
You know it's a good idea to have extra power but wouldn't it make more sense to have the amplifier top of the radio. This way you don't have to worry about all that fluctuation. I just got rid of my Longhorn because of that the sideband was terrible in that radio
But you didn’t show us anything you did to it. You didn’t show us the frequency conversion. That’s what I was watching the video for. Wow 600 walked out freaking amazing
Great video! Enjoyed the throroughness and the technical details. Appreciate it! 👍 BTW, how do you like your Driver Extreme DX901 CB speaker there on your shelf there (just above and to the right of your monitor?) Would you recommend it? Or recommend another CB speaker for base use? Thanks in advance!
Imagine if over the last 20 years they figured out that heat rises and put the amp and heat sinks on the top of the radio. Imagine a radio that can actualy be mounted where you can see the unit and work the controls while driving down the road with out taking your eye's off the road? Imagine when they had the sense to have the amp seperate from the radio. Was it the 357 Magnum HP? The problem is we either have the Ares II or this ancient Galaxy Beast and nothing really in between. There is no happy medium that gives you a non-menu driven unit with the features you want at a decent price in a package that will actual fit in most cars. Not driving a 1980's Suburban! Right out of the box no modifications and it needs to be aligned. It is still a drifting machine. So just another expensive pile of ancient junk from Galaxy! All the power in the world is usless if your drifting all over the place. No one wants to talk SSB to a guy drifting all over the place. I am 51 and I predict that by the time I hit 70 Ranger/RCI/Galaxy will still be churning out the same stuff!
Sir, I am looking for a bigger Mobile radio. currently have the RCI x9would you recommend the X9 HP or the N2 ? remember this is going to be a Mobile in a truck the whole time.
I run the 69ffb4 like this drifts for the first 5 minutes after that your good to go. This one is actually like the longhorn i had . a little pricey but you got to pay to play and it costs to be the boss
Got to respect RCI for improving their product line. Has some real possibilities. A tune and alignment will reveal all. Never too long a video, when there is pertinent knowledge to be gained. 73 😑🦗
Another nice radio. The comment you made about some people getting upset about the possible drifting tickled me. Thanks for that. Enjoyed the review, thanks Matt.
That looks to be a good option... Thanks, Matt, and I will certainly look out for the raffle 😀 The thermal images will be cool to see. Would let us know where things get boiling 🤔 could also be a good 3D printed external fan project once the hot spots are determined 😉
Bonjour, je suis intéresser pour le poste de CB RCI 69FFB 6oui pour le B6 régler aux petits oignions par veaux soin le dédouanage combien ca va me couter Merci pour la réponse
Excellent looking radio, appreciate the fact that they added a fan to this, definitely has the power to reach out and touch whoever you want to like the old style look. Thank you for the video
I have tell you, when you made your comment about the other half may not approve the purchase, but may agree to the raffle, well my wife was sitting next to me and gave me a look and a smile. I guess I have the go for to buy a couple raffle tickets. This hobby isn't just about being on the air, I really enjoy your tour videos. I hope others are having fun too! Take care all.
Are you going to be selling them? I'm seriously considering one as a local talker. Sometimes it's a pain to wait for my box to warm up. It's be nice to talk to my locals on the fly. And when I say local it's 60 or so miles. So, a couple hundred watts won't cut it.
Just stumbled across your channel and I really like that radio, i didn't see a link to your website and was wondering if you could leave it in my comment or possibly the next video. I don't have a better half to worry about, but I need to justify the price to myself. Seriously, im very interested in possibly getting one if they are available. Thanks. Edited Here, I did sub and gave you a like.
Thank You! For the overview. Great info. on what is new and ahh what is not new on the newer model. hmmm How this would spar with Stryker 955hpc? Have Great Day. What's a little drift among friends. 1011c
ill buy one when they put a anytone board inside lol (gives me a idea) its a sexy radio looks wise though if only it had a good stable board inside maybe RCI/Galaxy will read my comment lol also if they redesign it Ranger put the amp on top will stay way cooler that way.
soo, the Longhorn has been on my dream list for a while now... will this out preform the Longhorn pound for pound??.. this looks like a great radio..wow
I made a comment on your galaxy saturn video a year ago when you get caught up i have one that I would like you to look at that has some of the same low receive on the s meter but transmits fine please look at my comment on your other video
I'd like to see it on the scope. I'm curious how dirty that 500watts is? On the negative side, needing alignment right of the box for ANY radio is something I'll never understand. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
Hi, I've just come across your site, and I have to say I'm loving it. I am a licensed amateur on the Isle of Wight in the UK and run an Icom IC-7300, which is an excellent radio. I've been watching and reading other people's views of the high-powered radios for the CB use. In the UK, we use 27.601.25 through to 27.991.25 on FM. I'd like to see and hear what this radio performs like on that frequency, please. I love the Ranger range because they look old school in style and I personally love that look. Great videos, loving your site. 73 Alex, Isle of Wight. UK.
When are ranger going to learn. I’ve fitted an n4 amp to my v2 Stryker and have zero drift. Ranger seem determined to not use tcxo and sell drift boxes. Re: no zeros fit a 10.100 xtal from a 2950 and it will do zeros. Same crap different name as usual.
Yep, I tend to agree with you somewhat because I am disappointed with all of these supposedly new radios that ultimately have the same old technology, however big power sells and people are buying them so Ranger is doing what they can to try an compete

Looking forward to this radio to be more readily available!!!
But first I need to save up for it then figure out how to hide it from the wife. 😁😁😁

More to come!
Price?
And what about shipping cost.?
I can order one right now but the price is to high for me
Well presented overview and a Beautiful Radio.
But you didn’t show us anything you did to it. You didn’t show us the frequency conversion. That’s what I was watching the video for. Wow 600 walked out freaking amazing
Same as a 99n1, 69 base plus for the conversion. Also this video was not meant to be a how to video, just an overview. Thanks for watching

Best external speaker I've used.

@TheRadioGarage
I'll definitely be watching for it. 2 radios on my list. Something like this and a cpi 2000. The 2000s are tough to find these days.
It would be good AM as a base.
