  • I spent at least the last three months trying to get the duplicator to do exactly what I wanted it to do. I am pretty sure I have it now.

    I like the concept of leaving extra material on the lure blank to round over the lure's profile. A real finger saver.

      I don't really have plans... I make everything on the fly, by the seat of my pants or simply, as it comes to me. If you contact me through my website thefrugalflyrodder.com I can send you some close up photos.

    Well done Mike. This reminds me of fishing with my father and brothers on a small farm pond using similar methods. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I hope to try some of your ideas.

    This is fantastic. I've been looking for something like this for working on knife scales. Will you share where you sourced your parts for most of the linear bearings and rods and other stuff? I also wish you were selling the complete plans with parts list, but probably too much to hope for! Tks much for any info 🙂

    Hey Mike, Been awhile since I've commented an much. I, personally really enjoy your videos and the info you put out, and understand the effort that goes into putting out such great videos. I was hoping you could enlighten us on the materials, mechanisms you used to put this duplicator together. I have a dremel, and a router, but don't know the rest. If you could help me out, it would be oh so appreciated. Thank you so much for your time. Eric.

    Great idea. You have something there I am sure. Not a fly fisherman but I use jigs and crappie fish. Hope it works out fir you.

      Pretty sure it'll work out. I used foam in the last few years, and they caught fish. It's just I can't paint foam like I'll be able to with wood.

      @@FrugalFlyRodder yes not meaning it wouldn’t work, just saying I hope your invention makes you money. I had a invention of my own and a small LLC business I ran out of my garage and home here fir 8 yrs and finally gave it up. The government is not fir the small business man at all. Taxes where my problem. Being an honest man I ran my business honestly and the government taxes did me in. My best yr I sold $15,000.00 of merchandise and after taxes and the higher tax bracket the money put me in, I only made $2000.00 in profit fir my whole yr of work. I kept my prices down and fir a reason. I ride with the patriot guard riders ( PGR ) honored our veterans in their funerals and protected and honored the families.I built flag mounts fir motorcycles.

      @@fuzzyfultz who prepared your taxes. That doesn't sound right. I was self employed the last 7 or so years before retiring, tax rate was high, but I had a lot of write offs. The best write off I had was mileage.

    • @fuzzyfultz
      @fuzzyfultz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FrugalFlyRodder yes I agree, mileage is your best right off. However I I was and am still working as well. With my income and the extra from the business, put me in a high tax bracket that broke me. As well, I was not in it fir a big profit anyway, but didn’t intend on making $5 an hour. A learning experience for me. I might try it again after retiring in the next couple yrs. This time I may try something different that doesn’t require an LLC to protect me from being sued.
