I saw this film at my local cinema and the moment when David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser appeared the reaction from the audience was amazing, it was a happy feel good moment.
I had a similar experience. The cinema audience barely reacted to the rest of the movie, but the minute Glaser and Soul appeared, everyone started excitedly talking: “that’s the REAL Starsky and Hutch!!” They weren’t wrong.
@@joelcrowservoI guess today's audiences are too young to recognize two icons like these, I'm glad that's not my case, I watched many of the shows and movies my Mom grew up with, so I was impressed when I saw the original Starsky & Hutch in this movie. Btw, my Mom saw David Soul live when he came to Venezuela, he was also a singer, and had a relationship with an actress from here, my Mom said he was even more handsome in person.
I just find out today at work somebody who knows I love that show told me. I'm watching the pilot tonight and having a S&H marathon. Which I do at least once a week anyway.
I have only seen the ending with Stiller and Wilson's characters driving away with the car, but not what came after with Glaser and Soul, this should have been in the movie.
David Soul was a legend. I loved him in Casablanca, the Yellow Rose and Unsub. Beyond me, why they canceled these TV shows. All were good. Starsky and Hutch was by far the best cop show on TV. It's such a shame the original cast didn't make a movie of it Could at least do it in the late 1980s such a shame it didn't happen Well they done an episodes of columbo movie So would have faugh they would aswell
You are absolutely right! It was tear inducing. I was the perfect age in 1975 and I thought Starsky and Hutch were utterly cool and badass. I loved the show. I also thought Fonzie was the ultimate badass. The way everyone was so scared of him I wanted to be like that at school. 😅
Really pleasant surprise when I watched this for the first time to see Paul and David do a cameo appearance. When these guys were in their prime, WOW....GORGEOUS!!!!! RIP Mr Soul, I'm sure Paul is gunna miss you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Trying to remake a classic like this show is utter blasphemy!!! There will never....NEVER EVER BE anyone who can do this better than David and Paul.... NO ONE!!!!😢
Maybe do, but look at it as an homage to the original series, not a replacement. That's why they had them do a cameo, as a tribute to their legacy as the original " dynamic duo "
You only think that because these were the actors you grew accustomed to. If the original series would have starred two different actors, they would be the ones you grew accustomed to and would be saying the same thing about them.
God Bless you David Soul. So glad the both of you made this cameo appearance. IT MADE THE MOVIE COMPLETE! IT ALSO BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYES EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS PART! MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. YOU GUYS WERE THE GREATEST!
And he was also in the original Star Trek series episode, "The Apple," as well as an early 70's TV series called "Here Come the Brides," prior to Starsky and Hutch. The man had a great career and was a great actor.
RIP, David Soul. Great to have seen Paul Michael Glaser & David Soul (Original Starsky & Hutch) make A Cameo in this movie, along with Ben & Owen (Ben Stiller nearly broke out laughing when Paul Michael Glaser wrestled him for the Mic, when the Zebra 3 Call comes in). Also, it was good to see The Late Chris Penn in the movie.
David Soul said later that he hated this movie, it had nothing to do with the original franchise and what's more, it certainly couldn't catch the feeling, heart and soul, there use to be in that 70's series. @@louiseblack3337

Hate to say it, but this was the best part of the movie, seeing Paul and David together. And what is Starsky prime mad about? He used to peel out like that all the time on the show.
How come Hutch always had to ride shotgun? Why was Starsky always hogging the driver's seat? I know it's his car, but couldn't he compromise sometimes? Just a thought....
That was cool! I never did see the reboot of the series in movie platform, but I loved watching the TV series Starsky and Hutch! Yeah, I was stunned to hear that David Soul recently passed away.

David and Paul remained close friends up until David's passing a few days ago. I'm sure Paul is devastated by the loss of his buddy.
