Oui, Gigout la jouait Allegro mais assez lentement, pour bien appuyer les premiers temps. Yes, in fact Gigout himself used to play it somewhat slower than most organists do. It was reported by my friend Raphaël TAMBYEFF from Paris, which plays it in a similar way as you do.
Comme habituellement, vous savez rendre si bien l'âme d'une pièce. Une des plus belles interprétation de la Toccata de Gigout. Merci. Cordialement Olivier
Dear Ramon. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment on my video. I had this Toccata in mind for a long time and finally it all came together and I was happy to introduce it on my channel. Thanks for being an awesome member! It is highly appreciated!!
Good morning Philip, what a great way to enjoy my coffee break and collect another fine piece of music! Beautifully played as ever. Thank you so much Lynn
Hi Bill. So lovely to hear from you and thanks for that kind comment. I always glad to read that my work does a difference for other people. Thanks for your kindness!
Wow Charlotte. You're so very kind. I am very flattered. Thanks a lot and I am so glad you like my work here on TH-cam. I always enjoy reading your kind words!
Hi John. I have also heard a lot of recordings of people playing a bit faster but I find myself at ease with this tempo and I am glad that you found that as well.
Hi Beyer. Thank you so much for commenting. Lovely to hear that you enjoy my videos. I can see that you play organ in Japan?! Do they love the organ over there as much as here?
@@philipaggesen Philip, please call me Jarod.👍Most major concert halls in Japan have a pipe organ. People here think the organ is a somewhat mysterious, rare and “other worldly” musical instrument. Generally speaking, they find it to be quite interesting.
Thank you Joseph. I try listening to the recording again and I can't hear it. I also checked the wav-file which also didn't get into the red zone. So I don't what I could have done differently
Hi Philip, thanks for sharing your version. I completely like the tempo. The tones will "smear" in the big church reverb anyway. Can you share the fingerings of the piece for not so advanced colleagues? Thanks! Mario
Hi Eric. Thank you so much. I am playing this on - basically - 3 glorified midi keyboards and a pedal board. The input are then sent through midi to a computer which have a program called Hauptwerk installed. I have an unboxing video on my channel which gives you a closer look at the hardware.

Perfect tempo! Many play this to fast, in my opinion.
Thank you Magnus. I also found that this tempo works out for me but I realize that many people tend to play in much faster.
I came here to say the same!
Yes, exactly.

Hi Lynn. Thank you!! Coffee and organ music work marvelously together :-)
I sometimes enjoy this at speed; but this evening I much prefer the more relaxed tempo. Excellent, very well done!
Dear Clive. Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words. I really appreciate your kind comment.
This is the ONE piece where I wish the organ has low B :-) Well played sir!
Dear Stephen. Just read your comment. Thanks a ton for that kind comment!!
That’s a great piece of music! Thank you for sharing.

It's good to hear that my work hopefully can make a rainy day just a bit better ;-) Thanks as always. It's good to hear from you!
Well done. Your unruffled masterful dexterity playing the arpeggios is in sharp contrast to what the music is doing!

A favorite piece of mine and you played it beautifully! Thank you.
You're very very welcome Jon!
Just a fraction sedate for my taste, but flawlessly played. Nice. Thanks for putting this up on TH-cam.
Always to receive constructive feedback. What would make it better? Faster tempo, more powerful registration?
Storslået og flot! Og hvor er du bare en enestående god organist!
Tusind tak Jan. Hvor er det så fornemt af dig at give mig så god respons!
Excellent Philip .... Well done ! ...
Thank you so much Paul! Kind of you to leave a comment!
Excellentissime. Olivier
Merci beauxoup!!
Merci beaucoup!!
Really love it! New sub😊
Hi Rudi! Thanks for stopping by and watching. Hope you’ll stick around!
Bravo! Beautifully done. You should know, that when the organ got to FFF the audio was clipping. Additionally with intermodulation distortion.
Thank you Joseph. I try listening to the recording again and I can't hear it. I also checked the wav-file which also didn't get into the red zone. So I don't what I could have done differently
Thank you for your reply. If it sound good on your end, then hit has to be the limiytations of audio recording and play back.@@philipaggesen

Wow! What are you playing this on? I've always been interested in buying a digital organ pedal setup.

@@philipaggesen Thanks!
It seems so easy when you play it, but I tried this piece some time ago and it is definitly not that easy 😂
You'll get the hang of it I'm sure! Just practice practice practice!
