    Earned my brand loyalty from the pair I've been road and dirt track running with for the last 2 and a 1/2 years (~10km a week, plus countless miles walked). They really are a fantastically comfortable trainer for wide forefeet. Stones can be annoying to fish out occasionally, but it is well worth the price for the comfort. About to get a second pair prior to international travel to ensure I've got a replacement available in case my current pair give out... Quite sad the neon colours have been phased out this time around.

    Thanks for the review. I was looking for someone to give me true feedback. The fact you bought two more pairs speaks volumes. Really appreciate your time and effort. You pretty much covered everything l would have asked! Helped me decide l definitely want to get these! Thanks again.

    Just ordered my second pair after 900k in the first, at the start had some heel rub related to lacing issues. What I like most is the stability given by the upper mesh, its tight but free to move. Comfortable for marathons I regularly run 25-50k in them without issues. Stones are an issue as pointed out. Nice and light weight, breathable, drain easily of water. After the Brooks pureflow 4 these are the best shoe I've used

    Yesss, good to see your back, love the content. On trail shoe can't go wrong with the HOKA ONE ONE Speedgoats but there a big shoe.

    Thanks. Very helpful review. I have now got a pair of these for road runs after previously running in On Cloudflyers. Cloudflyers great but I really like the lighter feel of these. You asked about trail shoes. I have Saucony Peregrine ISO which I really rate.

    Heel textile gets ripped far too easily. That is a design flaw for sure. The other major flaw is they are only suitable for tarmac where you are sure there are no stones to get stuck in the central groove. If you run on gravel paths - forget it. However, they got the upper really right though. One of the best I've ever worn.

    Hey Jason - I'd have to believe if you're racing 70.3 triathlons that you're doing more than 800k of running in a year!! Glad to see that the shoes made such an impression that you decided to go get another couple pair - I'd be curious 4 years later if you're still running in On-running shoes. Whether it is the newer version of the Cloudflow....or something else. Thanks for the great review...I just bought a pair online - can't wait for them to come in. I've been running most of my life in Asics and wanted to try something new.
    Great bike by the way....I have exactly the same - even the same colorway.

    If it weren't for those f***** rocks it would be a perfect shoe. But this makes it sooo frustrating

    Have you found the lugs on the forefoot to get completely flat? I'm on my 2nd pair now and with less than 160km the lugs are trashed and I get zero energy return. I have a natural mid foot stride and my first pair was ok, kind of wishing it held up better.

    How were they in rain or wet surfaces? I've seen one review about a slight slide.

    I like the the Salomon Speedcross 5 for deep mud or OCR, La Sportiva Bushido for moderate mud and faster pace, or the La Sortiva Akyra for longer runs, and for a very stable and protected shoe over rocks. The Cloudventure looks nice, but yeah .. rocks.

    Bought a pair. First time my joins didn’t hurt. But my muscles:-) I can go stairs up and down without pain after long runs. Great shoes for the money. Perhaps adidas 4Ds can beat them. But they cost here 300€ and ons the half.

    Thanks for this very interesting video! I just bought my first pair of ON's as an alrounder shoe, and I love them! Hearing what you said about their durability makes me very happy, as it helps to put the price into perspective, and I know that I will be wearing them for a long time :-). However, I have one question: how do you get the dirt out of the holes in the cloudss/pods? I don't have any yet, but I am sure it will come....and then the day, when you step into a dog poo.....
    Any good techniques to recommend?
    Greetings from Germany,
    Frank

    I just start running for a month, now i'm looking for a new shoes for compettion (5k). Cloud you recommend me new shoe now I'm looking between Altra Escalante 1.5 and On Cloudflow. I'm looking for something light, now I owned Asics nimbus 21 and Skecher go run ride 7. Also I have alot of shin splint injury problem :(.

    • @JasonFonger
      @JasonFonger  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've run in the original Escalante and it was good but I prefer the Cloudflow for sure. It's definitely a solid 5km shoe, I think you will not be disappointed.

    Will they help with shin splints?

    • @JasonFonger
      @JasonFonger  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to say. Shin splints can happen for different reasons. I would look at running volume / intensity / form before shoes for that one.

    Bought a pair, running 5km three days a week, after two weeks the sole came off on both of them on the heel for about 3cm. Swiss design made in Vietnam. F#&% ON! Never buy again.
