I see a bunch of comments about turning the engine and other options to get it to run the right way, but a simpler solution is what we do with machine belts. Just make the chain into a figure 8. turns the other way and super easy. You might need a guard, but it works.
I love how you have beautiful edits of you cutting and tooling, and I love that you left in your mistake, instead of editing it out. Respect.

If you turned the engine 180 degrees with the sprocket to the right, the problem would be solved.

yes, like Harry Burford just said, turn the rear wheel around so the sprocket is on the other side, and turn the engine around too so the sprocket is on the "right" side of the board.

If you look up a pivot cup on skateboard trucks it will help you tremendously
Where you attach the front axle like a skateboard truck
On an actual board there is a little cup there so your board does not sway back and forth so hard
Doing this with let you achieve full speed more safely and harder for you to turn by shifting your weight forward and back

That clutch is meant to put the engine facing the other way, since the engine turns counter clockwise the gear box makes it go the other way, so the engine goes mounted with the carb facing forward

Ya need to turn your motor around so you steer with 2 wheels. More stable and no exhaust in yo face. Like your stuff brother and I love that you don't talk. Keep up the good work 💯

this looks like a lot of fun! i built something similar. you will want the engine mounted to a 'plate' separate from the frame. Then slotted holes in the plate front to rear. Then you can fine-tune the chain adjustment. & perhaps turn the engine & wheel around to the other side so it goes forward & it will be more stable. good luck! liked & already subscribed

rear wheel steering is where board wobble comes from. get that motor spun round and ride it like you intended. also go with a decent plywood and you can cut that deck thicknes down by 75%. weight is not your friend

I think it's better with the single wheel in the front. But all you would have to do is turn the engine and drive sprocket 180degrees to the other side of the skate

I owned one just like this 49cc 2stroke it was fun going uphill in the mean streets of Wellington.. All the power was one ine wheel and made for mad speed wobbles when i let off the gas... Ended up going into the back of a parked van and broke my shoulder. While i wasnt using in crackheads stole it....

Use an Extra Gear? Wind the pull cord in the opposite direction, or use a drill to start it? I heard this works on two-stroke motors, but I haven't tested it. I think it is probably easier to steer "backwards": I can ride a tricycle, but I cannot ride a skateboard.

there is a huge diy electric skateboard community. i built a 35mph board with 25 miles of range. you should try it.

I'm not sure the gearing is right... most of the time, you can hear the engine is 4-stroking and running at a pretty low RPM, meaning the clutch is probably slipping. and hasn't fully engaged. I think you could get better performance by choosing a smaller sprocket on the engine side! Great project nonetheless! :)
