Thank you! I'm in the middle of my first build. I'll be checking my springs.

Had quite a few other engine builders track out to me after watching the video to say they’ve found the same thing 😬

I’m in the process of assembling my first rotary engine. And came across the same thing, though it was weird. Being my first engine just thought that’s the way they were and it would compress in the housings. One thing I did notice was I had a side seal that some how it must have deformed and it was scraping the side and not allowing for it to spring back. Thanks Jon for what you doing helping guys like me.

I am so glad you uploaded this video, I have had the exact same thing and was just about to stack my rotors (figuring this was normal and they’d sort themselves out) glad I stumbled across this

Thanks Jon for making these videos, I’m currently building a 13b for my RX7 and your video regarding the factory timing marks on the front pulley, and the video regarding pressing bearings in and out of rotors and this one have probably saved my build.👍

Nice catch ! Can you make a video about the how the oil system works street vs race ? Pump , bearings, regulators , thermal pellet, internal vs external lubrication !!! I'm sure alot of builders are thankful for the knowledge 👍✌

      Can do mate.
There would be a lot of content just in what you’ve just said, but should be able to break it up into a few different topics 🤔
I’ll add it to my list 😎

    Nice video,
Even back in the 90's doing builds, one of the first this I was shown was to check all side seal springs sat the same. You would get batches of springs that were soft or flat like the ones you had there.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Mazda picks up on it soon (if they haven’t already) & rectifies the problem

I don't think that will matter once the engine stack is torqued down the spring tension will even out. If this was an issue there would be many brand new motors with low compression and it would be well known.

Had the same problem here in NZ over a year ago and mazda was not sure what had gone wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️. Few months ago i had it happen again with 6 being a good height and 6 being as low as your low ones haha. Must be a bad batch surfing around??

Definitely looks like these ones were made at 4.45 pm on a Friday arvo 😂

    Great video once again thanks.
I plan on buying some of the extreme rotaries gear for my next build (bearing tool and apex seal groove file), you said on another clip that you stock some gear.
I don't have FB do you have an email I can use to contact?
