I am still a firm believer they should be put Jonathan Frakes as the new EP/head of Star Trek moving forward. He has vision, understanding and his ideas related to the direction of Trek is exactly what we need right now in Trek, especially moving forward and with Trek sort of in limbo now after a 50/50 comeback and then dropoff.
@@moe47988 He is a good director though. Look at The Orville or Picard S3. He was an important part of both. I'm not sure if Ronald D. Moore would be a good choice. We would probably get more shows like Star Trek Discovery, since his Battlestar Galactica Reboot was similar to it. Lot's of emotions and feelings instead of a good storytelling and Sci Fi etc. He also run out of ideas there quite quickly. I watched entire Reboot and original 1978 series and truth be told I enjoyed original BSG series more. Star Trek now needs something like TOS/TNG/DS9, not another Disco.
@@inquerion8867 There was too much emotion at the end of BSG I agree, but you can't have too much plot-only either, the audience will be too small. Star trek TNG only worked with such a huge following after season 3 because of the emotions. You need to include interest to women to have a hit show.
Superb interview! It was great hearing Jonathan Frakes recalling earlier episodes. I had so much fun playing through this game, the story and visuals are amazing🖖
If Jonathan Frakes says this is Star Trek, you KNOW you're doing it right. Bought the game and o boy! how I missed Trek as Trek should be. Under the hood it can be improved performance wise. But this is a Star Trek Diamond!
Thank you for interviewing Jonathan Frakes. I truly hope you will be able to do more Star Trek games. It could be a TOS focused for the next game, DS9, Voyager or even just a sequel to Resurgence. Imagine a Klingon one ^^ Loved the game. Keep up the good work!

Interesting that the Resolute is a Centaur Class ship, a very dated starship. But the interiors looks very Sovereign era, which implies a massive and recent refit. I like this.
@@DooMest Totally - You saw it in a TNG episode where an Oberth-class ship's interior was clearly updated with LCARS and all that. A Centaur-class would have been born in the duotronic era yet upgraded to isolinear with LCARS added appropriately. I'm not so much a Centaur fan as a fan of the fact that they used an old ship design. Also and upgraded "Enterprise B"-ified Centaur the way the Excelsior got the "B-ification".
Id love to see more Trek. just not by Alex Kurtzman and his ilk. Season 3 of Picard was good, it doesnt get the bad taste out of my mouth with the bs they put into it. Wish we got more from The Dominion War or Voyager's Year of Hell.
What's wrong games from 90s? Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Star Trek games. So many good games were released back then. Graphics are not everything. Resurgence is a good game. It feels like a TNG episode. Only major problem with it is a bad optimization (you need to have strong computer or console to enjoy it).

Nah, Ronald D. Moore. Actors generally don't make very good writers.

I enjoyed the game too, but modern Trek on TV is still great and how it should be. It never stopped being good.
I really enjoyed this game. I'd love to see this studio get more budget to make another one and up the visuals!
The visuals were fine. Fixing the jank is what's important. A great game that only somewhat functioned at times.
Salute the legend ! :)

BEST STAR TREK GAME!!!!!
Nice to see a Star Trek game getting positive reviews, going to be buying this for sure.
Very cool. Always awesome seeing how Frakes embraces Star Trek.
Question: can we expect any kind of title update when the game comes to Steam?
Title update?

I was quite lucky to got this interview in my TH-cam selection like 35 minutes before the Steam discount went pass. Q´pla!

It's such an amazing detail in the game. You can see where the old ship is and where the refits took place for the interior of the ship.

Who you going to get to play Riker, Will Wheaton? LOL 🤣😆
Nice to introduce the person every casual fan knows but not wth ST:R is.

I believe Year of Hell was planned as a full season story arc originally.
Kurtzman is the best EP since Michael Pillar. Definitely better than Rick Berman. 🤢

I think that would have gone down really well with the fans, provided they fleshed out the story of each episode.

Graphics are not everything. Storytelling matters and Resurgence is quite good at it. It's like a TNG episode. Give it a try.
