Given that there are songs called 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone?' and 'Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?', can we assume the cowboys made off with the flowers?
I'm currently learning all the capitals of the world - up to just over 175 so far! In checking how to pronounce Thimphu (capital of Bhutan), I learned that it's 'Tim poo'. As a No More Jockeys below the liner, is that a nice revenge nickname for Tim to come from a 'Nuisance Penguin' / 'Jockstrap' / 'Cesspit Gel'? I think so anyway. 😃
As regards 'how many books are too many?' - I used to have loads, but since falling under the spell of the wonderfully silly world of PG Wodehouse, I began to find so many of those other books tough reads. I've ended up giving a lot of the 'downbeat' books - mostly Victorian era - and the psychology / philosophy books I bought (but rarely got round to reading!) I'm still of the opinion that to be surrounded by a huge amount of books that you enjoy reading is a wonderful thing, but I'm now surrounded by a smaller, more light hearted selection of books by the likes of Wodehouse, Wilde, Twain, etc.
Great to see 'yhcih' back. 😀 And another fun episode to watch - though for some reason I suspect it was maybe cold that day? It's amazing how quickly a day can become associated with a show like this, and how the 'feel' of it changes a little when there isn't the expected episode. It was the same with NMJ's. After a few Tuesday's that felt like there was something missing, it's great to have it back.
Welcome back! Very pleased to have my content interaction mentioned, but still waiting on that Unicorn-with-cornetto-horn appearance. Also, if it's so very cold, why aren't you wearing a coat? and hat? and gloves? and scarf?
In the run up to Christmas it's important to know: are mince pies actually nice to eat or a lot of disgusting off cuts of other goods that are shoveled into some pastry and loaded with enough sugar to barely be tolerable? Love the show Steve (Mark)
I'm aware of the bias of 'things were better when you were younger', but, trying to be as unbiased as I can, I still think things like technology reached the perfect level in around the 90's (which, yeah, happened to be my teen years). At that stage, technology that sufficiently helped us on a daily basis was invented and widely available, but didn't completely dominate / take over our whole lives like so much does today (and only ever increasing). Is that a valid viewpoint, Mark? Or do you think things were actually better before / after the 90's?
Enjoyed the manic energy brought about by the coldness here, multiple vehicles spotted, lace emergencies and unbound shilly shallying - brilliant stuff :)
What piece of technology are you shocked to see described as 'old school' nowadays? As someone who still has some VCR tapes to use on a VCR / DVD machine, I was shocked to see a recent article about how many might regard DVD's as 'old school' as it's now the era of streaming. I do some streaming as well, but I really hadn't considered DVD's were already going the same way as things like tapes and CD's!
Ah great - glad everyone's better so YHCIH can resume. Now Mark, you don't have to orcessarily answer this but: What's the Christmas tradition that will take off in a big way but hasn't yet owing to not having been thought of?
Next week Mark will be walking on a treadmill indoors. And though it will be completely unnecessary, Alex will be walking on a treadmill backwards in front of Mark
My youngest sister is a 90s child and was a big fan of the series 'Clarissa Explains it All', she suggested to me that you can't possibly tell her anything as Melissa-Joan Hart covered everything already. Is this true or can you destroy her cynicism with some just-breaking revelation about the world ?
Mark - I live in the hilly countryside and I need a new coat for winter. Do you think a summer weight bomber jacket has sufficient thermal protection to stave off temperatures that could kill me, or would I look like a fool moaning about being cold whilst wearing it?
Mark, I recently bought your 3-disc CD set "Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better" from a charity shop for 50p, or 16p per disc. How does that make you feel?
Who do you respect more- those who respectfully ask you questions from topics that you have selected, or the foetid iconoclasts who just freestyle their own turgid rubbish?
Glad to see that the content has returned and remains interactable, and indeed thanks for your invaluable dedication to clearing things up around here. Now, I've been meaning to ask; is there a pooint at which shilly-shallying progresses from mere high-spirited excitability into something more sinister and wasteful, and furthermore if so then what is that point? Does it depend on circumstance, or nah? Safe yeah
My wife (yes, her yet again) prevents me from having goodies by saying they are on the 'Christmas Shelf' and then, soon afterwards they are on the 'Easter Shelf' and then it starts all over again. What is my ideal window of opportunity to actually enjoy these goodies? Thank you for your considered views on this matter.
Two pairs of fancy shoes, two pairs of regular shoes, two pairs of boots, two pairs of wellies, two pairs of trainers, and, alsocerily, two pairs of slipper-trainers for the house.
Wahoo! Second question answered & this time it's life changing! Am away to phone it in for work. And I look forward to moving back in to my parents house. I was finding being independent tiresome tbf.
6:30 (ish) Now then, the NMJ fans will know that mark has impersonated a unicorn before, and I don't think Tim or Alex paid him any money to do it, so I think he secretly loves pretending to be unicorns and what not
Yes, I was thinking of that as well! 😂 I've been on my latest re-watch of the NMJ episodes, and so it was only about a week ago that I was seeing Mark's impersonation of a unicorn.
The internet does not support the idea that the word "fuck" is French or even based on French, but half the time people say it (including perky internet walkabouts), they ask for the listener to "pardon my French". Can you please explain this phenomenon?
QUESTIONNNNNN!!!!! Is there a certain time of day that is the least common to be born at? Thanks for your helpfulness, you are appreciated by the masses :))
Question 🚨 We use the phrase "happy as a clam" but do we know if clams are actually happy? What would be a more suitable animal to use in this phrase? I appreciate your assistance in this and all matters
Very happy to hear that Alex is feeling better! No shilly-shallying here: Why does this episode give the same vibes as a certain infamous NMJ episode involving a drunk Horne in the bath?? 😂 Thank you for answering all of our questions, Mark! ❤
hi mark, thank you for trying to demonstrate that humans are still better at answering questions than robots. but can you say "pants" in an american accent? i mean pants as in "oh thats pants :/" but with an american accent. thank you.
Tosser here. I used to think you only needed 2 pairs of shoes, and that the second pair was only there in case the first pair got wet. Then I grew up and started wearing clothing of varying colors, and found it pleasing to have 3-4 colors of shoes to match the outfit I was sporting. Some outfits are more formal, so at least one pair of formal shoes was needed, to be kept nice and not worn on 10-minute question-answering walks. I also love wearing slippers round the house, and have an indoor and outdoor pair. Along with your given sport shoes and baby-amusing shoes, I also like wearing fish on my feet, which makes 10 pairs of shoes the ideal amount.
Recently my dad said he was not wearing shoes, despite wearing flip-flops. So by his logic, flip-flops are not shoes. I'm glad I am now armed with the knowledge to say he is WRONG.
Hi Alex, can we please avoid siren sound effects in future episodes? As real and serious as a lace emergency is, those sounds can be very triggering to some viewers (probably mostly me, but possibly many other people once YHCIH inevitably becomes the world's most watched show). Thanks!
You mentioned having a pair of shoes that are used only for putting on your hands to amuse a baby - why do you think a baby finds this amusing? What sort of thing do you imagine is going through their mind as they watch you use shoes in such a way? Can't thank you enough for your assistance in this matter :)
What is the silliest fashion trend of history? Elizabethan ruffs? 1980’s perms? Something else entirely?? Thank you for your assistance in this manner (and get yourself a new pair of shoelaces before an injury occurs, please!)
How do you define “art”?? Where are the boundaries and limits? Is it all in the eye of the “beer-holder”?? Does intent matter? What’s the difference between an ordinary metal can and a Campbell’s soup can? When is it an art installation versus a mere blank piece of canvas? At what point does it cease to be a romance novel and turn into plain old porn??
Given that there are songs called 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone?' and 'Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?', can we assume the cowboys made off with the flowers?
I love that question so much 🤣
That is one of the BEST questions ever!!! ❤
nah
London is famous for it's double-decker buses. What other things should different cities make "double-decker" in order to become famous?
I really LIKE that question!
Bop bop unicorn Mark!
Long time no interaction, good to see you back!
I'm currently learning all the capitals of the world - up to just over 175 so far!

Highly important question. How many revolutions could I do in a revolving door, before the building's receptionist forcibly removes me?
Thank you for rewarding my audacity and hubris :)
Great to see 'yhcih' back. 😀

A wonderful return with some great content. Alsocerily, the cold really added a sense of giddiness
Aahhhh, welcome back! I was WORRIED
Welcome back! Very pleased to have my content interaction mentioned, but still waiting on that Unicorn-with-cornetto-horn appearance. Also, if it's so very cold, why aren't you wearing a coat? and hat? and gloves? and scarf?
If you could invent a new emergency service, what would it be and how would you access it? Thanking you, as ever, for your eternal wisdom.
shilly-shallying in shat winter is a great return to yhcih, good to interact with the content again
A long-awaited chance to log a content interaction! Hurray!
Congratulations on enduring the cold, the lace emergencies, and the squeaky bike. One content interaction coming right up
Funniest episode so far
Haven't been here a while but I like Mark's new cosplay of Toecutter from Mad Max, he only needs a proper leather jacket!
Great editing job on this one!
Kram is the name of the drummer from a very popular band from Australia , called Spiderbait! (Well they were popular in the 90s/00s at least!)
In the run up to Christmas it's important to know: are mince pies actually nice to eat or a lot of disgusting off cuts of other goods that are shoveled into some pastry and loaded with enough sugar to barely be tolerable?
Love the show Steve (Mark)
i'm interacting with the content!!!
6:00 Only pair of shoes? Surely you're wearing three pairs, unless you're sockless and skinless?
Seems like an obvious question: How cold is too cold?
This is my first episode of this and I am SO CONFUSED
Welcome to the fray. It doesn't get less confusing, but it's always a joy
Welcome!

Could you and Alex do an episode on treadmills? Alex of course would still be walking backwards.
Thanks for suffering the cold on our behalf. Alsocarily, what are French flaps?
Are couches just soft benches? If so, at what point does a bench become a couch
Ah great - glad everyone's better so YHCIH can resume. Now Mark, you don't have to orcessarily answer this but: What's the Christmas tradition that will take off in a big way but hasn't yet owing to not having been thought of?

waiting for the squeaky 🍑 🚲 remix of shilly shallying
Hi, Mark! Is it getting better or worse, or nah? Thank you!
What was the baby Jesus' favourite Christmas song to sing along to on his birthday?
My youngest sister is a 90s child and was a big fan of the series 'Clarissa Explains it All', she suggested to me that you can't possibly tell her anything as Melissa-Joan Hart covered everything already. Mark and Kram for twins was right there?!??
Mark - I live in the hilly countryside and I need a new coat for winter. Do you think a summer weight bomber jacket has sufficient thermal protection to stave off temperatures that could kill me, or would I look like a fool moaning about being cold whilst wearing it?
Is it fewer shilly-shallies or less shilly-shallying?
Mark, I recently bought your 3-disc CD set "Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better" from a charity shop for 50p, or 16p per disc. How does that make you feel?

Wouldn't auscersarily say that Mark had a cold face, auscersarily would likely spin it differently
What's the best and worst "look" you can give a person?

What’s the capital of Thailand?
I don't alsocarily mind interacting with this content.
When did the dictionary stop accepting words made up by poor people?
Today's question : Are the chequered socks a shout out to 2Tone Ska, Skateboarding, Chess or Nah?

I was afraid that big AI had finally gotten you
Why do we call swearing our "french"? Is French implicitly naughty?
6:30 (ish) Now then, the NMJ fans will know that mark has impersonated a unicorn before, and I don't think Tim or Alex paid him any money to do it, so I think he secretly loves pretending to be unicorns and what not

Do you get a refund if the fortune teller predicts something that's already happened?
So a sole is two types of shoe now?
Just because YHCIH has mostly been filmed while moving, that does not mean it alsocarily needs to be filmed moving.
It is better, when it is cold, that YHCIH is done in a pub having a pint? Yah or nah?
fulfilling my content-interaction duties. it's a pleasure to have yhcih back!

13:51 I had to rewind to check if my neighbor had started drilling into the wall again, or if it was in the video.
(Also, Alex says an embarrassed 'Stoppp' in exactly the same tone as my fifteen-year-old.)
Hi Alex, can we please avoid siren sound effects in future episodes? As real and serious as a lace emergency is, those sounds can be very triggering to some viewers (probably mostly me, but possibly many other people once YHCIH inevitably becomes the world's most watched show). Thanks!
Yeah no worries. Lace emergency is out
Sorry about that!
Oh my goodness, what a sensory overload this episode was!...Crikey Moses. I'll be having a lie down in a dark room if anyone's looking for me.
