  • In today's episode I repair and refit the OEM Honda Integra DC2 mirrors.
    I remove the Spoon Sports Carbon Fibre mirrors and re-terminate the OEM mirrors with the original OEM connectors. I do some soldering and add heatshrink and 3M Scotch 33 electrical tape for insulation. Then I remove all the Butyl from behind the door trims then remove a Pioneer passive crossover and lots of cables.
    CHAPTERS:
    0:00 Start
    2:57 Soldering the mirror connector
    6:45 Cleaning off the vapour barrier sealant
    7:22 Replacing the speaker
    7:53 replacing the door trim
    8:18 Testing windows and Mirrors

    All the little details like this are very important when tidying up a car.
    OEM FTW on this classic Japanese car. The Honda Integra DC2 Type R needs to be preserved and enjoyed as the classic it is now recognised as. If you enjoy this type of video let me know in the comments. This car is my Honda Type R OEM build. There's still a few mods to be removed and more tidying up on the car is needed. Some people call these classics a DC2R so I'll write that and ITR in here along with Acura which might help our North American friend find my videos. I know sometimes my videos are very basic but hopefully they will help some people and I like to document what I do to the car with video while trying to be creative Most of the time I do everything here myself which is a big job and its hard to remember everything, But I shoot most of this stuff with my old iPhone and sometimes my old GoPro. The Pieces to camera I film with my Canon 5D so I don't use video cameras at all. Although I would love to get one some day and get a Gimbal too which will open up a lot of creative shots in future videos.

    Fiddly job, nicely done sir. I'd likely have soldered myself to the loom. Press a button and one ear would move. I've seen those Spoon mirrors go for a pretty penny on the Bay so maybe get a few quid back.
    That sticky goo has been the bane of my existence anytime I've taken the door card off. Which I do once a year to top up the anti rust wax in the bottom. Cos Ireland. There's so much wax in it at this stage that you could stick a rope in the boot as a wick and make a huge JDM candle. 😄 Actually the inside of that door of yours looks very corrosion free. Cos 'Stralia. The goo stuck to the hair of my arms, with many expletives delivered to the air. 😄 As a matter of interest what did you use to remove it?

      haha thanks mate. Yes I hate the sticky goop too. I was even harder to remove from my Evo doors. I used a product called DE-SOLV-IT which I got from my local hardware store. It smells like oranges. Its the best thing I've found for this messy job. You can see the bottle briefly at 6:54 and I still have to remove the sticky stuff from the vapour barrier when I get time. There's not many roads in Australia that get salted and I don't go to the snowy mountains in winter but there's some great driving roads up there. I don't live near the ocean either so corrosion thankfully isn't something I have to worry about. cheers

    What spray did you use for cleaning up the inside of the doors? I’m enjoying these videos on the DC2 btw, well documented!

      Maybe. I'd have to research what they're worth. Are you in Australia?

    Hi sir, was this dc2r that was raced in Indy? Was trying to buy this year's back of so, Want to sell?

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't think so. The owners manual doesn't show that it had any kms or "demo" kms on it when sold to the first owner. It also has A/C which I don't think was on the Indy series race cars. Send me a msg thru Insta or FB if you wanna chat more.
